Hahaha. I agree that everyone is a bit kiasu. It depends on what you are really going for, right? I am not materialistic and not interested in luxury goods so I won't queue for that. But if you are telling me there's something free relating to Star Wars, I may be there many hours before. I think the level of properness with regards English we speak may depend on our respective households and friends, but I guess when you start working at a workplace, you would have to get on board with some level of standard English anyway.
