Smash Bros Ultimate's Fighters Pass Two is officially underway with the release of Min Min. But, there can't be infinite new fighters... and with every fighter added many more get deconfirmed... especially when you use Smash Math.
With only one fighting game character added for Smash Ultimate (Ken), and one added in Fighters Pass One (Terry), do you think fighting game characters are really out of the running in Fighters Pass Two after Min Min?
Nah, but i expect to see new genres and at least one fighter that's just sakurai messing with random concepts, like he did with Piranha Plant. Call it "the sakurai factor".
I do think it's pretty unlikely Didn't Sakurai mention during min mins presentation that he doesn't usually like to pick characters from fighting games? (since apparently this way they're more interesting because smash itself is a fighting game already and they wouldn't change too much or sth?)
@@user-lt9zf3dt4l I don't recall him saying that, and honestly based on his love for SNK I REALLY doubt it. It's a complaint that comes from some people in the community and somehow spread around. Frankly, seeing a fighting game character translated into other fighting games has always been interesting for a lot of people. For instance 2D characters like Akuma or Haomaru in 3D games like Tekken and Soul Calibur respectively or Tekken characters in a 2D engine (Street Fighter x Tekken). Or any of these folks in a platformer like smash (Terry, Ken/Ryu)...
Well yes, but actually no. There's a fighting game character coming later in the pack, but they're not...Primarily fighting? It's kind of confusing really. Like they have a couple of fighting games, but they're also from another genre so, take that for what its worth.
In the Min Min presentation, Sakurai defined arms as a “competitive action game” so if a shooter character is added later down the line, you could always take the 6% from the action rep and switch it out for the shooter rep if it comes to it
I don't care how many times you get anything wrong, I'm here for the videos, not for the facts. Even if your channel has 12.3K subscribers right now, I can tell the internet will notice you at some point.
Unless male was cut im pretty sure Shadow counts too i guess. But then again, Shadow is technically an android, so maybe not. Eggman however...... Genre: Platformer. Gender: Male. Origin: East. Era: 1990's. Publisher: Returning. Series: Returning. Im still pretty salty for my boy Yoshimtisu tho :c Also Eggman doesn't need a mech, he can just use Metal Sonic or any other robots.
Clean, beautiful editing? Bizarre and often hilarious attempts at categorization? Yep, it's another BGD video. I highly suggest you check out his non-Smash videos if you haven't already. Also his Smash videos, but the others are criminally underrated. Anyway, this was a pretty good attempt at assessing how Min Min's arrival applies to your established ruleset. I look forward to it shattering to pieces when Sakurai's fanatical devotion to SNK fighting games drives him to add Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown as Fighter 77.
BackSeat: I am gonna use maths to deconfirm figther pass characters Sakurai: Hey bro do you want someone in the game? Employee: Idk one from angry birds? Sakurai: Ok
minecraft is a platformer that came out in the 2010s, not only with a male lead of being a both with alex and the gang. Plus its a new publisher and yeah thats it maths still there. OH though pyra is a big hurt. shes technically a neither. so big oop.
I feel if kirby gets another rep it will most likely Bandanna Dee. All the villains in the kirby series don't really feel like a good rep except Marx and nightmare(who are already a boss and assist trophy respectively). When it comes to heroes we already have all the main ones and only Bandana Dee is left.
I’ve been subbed since your first smash math vid (which is how I found you) and I assumed this was like a 500k+ subs channel. YOU ONLY HAVE 12k! This is the most high quality content I’ve ever seen from a channel this small! Keep up the great work!
I feel like saying Min Min would be classified as “Female + Neither” is like saying that ZSS would be “Female + Neither” because she has a gun and mechanical high heels. I feel like ARMS are less mechanical augmentations (ala cyborgs, androids, etc.) and more simply weapons equipped by those with the ARMS ability.
Dan & Elissa Nolan the times he constantly reiterates that his system is absolutely and undoubtedly infallible? he’s obviously not serious lol. if he said it was satire it’d lose any effect
Steve Update: Genre: picking up the scraps Gender: Both (possibly male lean) Region: West Era: 2010s (when 1.0 was released) Publisher: Either (New (Mojang)/Returning (Microsoft)) Series: New
I have a feeling the we might see more "spirit" fighters coming on this pass Sakurai also stated that they will change the spirit fights in future updates, that at least hints on more especial mii costumes comming, funny enough,i did buy Min Min,but her original spirit battle still uses Corrin. From what i got from Min Min, if future spirit fighters come to smash, they will have a new separate artwork as a spirit with the title (fighter) next to the name
@@dylanenriguehuntington2908 the fact that Springman was conciderd during the dlc development makes me belive that assist throphies CAN be dlc fighters
@@HappyLittleWorker well it does hin at future especial mii costumes at least, spirits based on mii costumes we already have like the assasines creed, vault boy,ect
Did Steve count? Yes! Genre: ? (Sandbox) Gender: Both Origin: West Era: This is tricky. You could count the one that combines 1980s+2000s and just take the 2000s, or you could just go with 2010s because Minecraft was released really close to 2010 (2009) edit: yeah it is 2010s because if you go by Alex’s inclusion, she was released after 2010 Publisher: Returning (Microsoft with Banjo Kazooie) Series: New
Fun fact: many people associate Foreman Spike from “Wrecking Crew” with Waluigi. These characters’ debuts came out in 1985 and 2000 respectively. So, thus, it is possible, with a bit of finagling perhaps, that Waluigi can still come to Smash if Nintendo agrees with this association. Maybe.
@Paulo Figueiredo Fair, however the second video in this series stated that only official rules count rather than fanmade rules. It has never been directly stated that assist trophies can’t be fighters, so the rules of this series allow it.
This is exactly why I thought your math is off. There are some factors that certainly do look like they contribute, but Sakurai has also noted that game series that are unrepresented in Smash. This rule didn’t apply to Byleth, however its easy to assume Sakurai himself didn’t want another FE character and it was more so Nintendo forcing him to make them a character. Besides that though, Sakurai has shown he wants new unique characters who have also shown relevance to either gaming history or are popular within the last 20 years. Theres a little bit of personal interest in it for him to since Min Min wouldn’t be everyones first choice
@@danielleballsackguy7374 well 2B is definitely a solid pick, but I’m not sure about her inclusion since she was in SoulCalibur. Not to mention there are other picks like Sora, Lara Croft, and maybe Noctis from Squares library. However if we’re making arguments for her in, she has become somewhat of a household name. Most of the gaming community knows what she is, and hack and slash games haven’t really been represented (unless you count Fire Emblem or Hyrule Warriors). Plus she could have an interesting moveset, but I in all honesty there are other SE reps I can see having a better inclusion. Not that 2B doesn’t have no chance of getting in, but I just think its unlikely especially over others like Crash, Doomguy, or someone like Scorpion
I rarely comment on videos (something I should try to change), but I felt the need to comment here because of how impressed I am with the quality of your videos. Keep it up with the good work and I am sure you'll have a great future ahead mate. And you, viewer, if you're reading this comment, make sure to share these videos on your social media and tell your friends about it! Believe it or not, it actually helps, so please let's try and spread the word about these amazingly produced videos!
Okay, lets update: Minecraft Steve: Sandbox game (counts as ?), Both (Male Lead), West, could be counted as 2010s even though Miecraft was released in 2009, but its complete edition was in 2011, Returning Publisher (Joker/Sega logic) and new series. Sephiroth: RPG, Male, East, 1990s, Return Pub, Return Series. Heres were problems start Pyra and Mythra: RPG, Both?, East, then 2010s is taken, but if we put Minecraft as 2000s only and we get 2010 for Pyra and Mythra then its fine, Return Pub and Return Series. Basically, we are left with 2 platformers, 2 males, 2 east, 1 1980s and 1 1990s, 1 Return Pub and 1 new Pub, and 1 Return series and 1 New series. Using this, Crash is out, Eggman has a very high chance, Ryu Hayabusa may be introduced, maybe Waluigi? But who knows, Sakurai is unpredictable
Here's a thought, a tweet from Bethesda said that they were actively trying to get one of their characters into smash bros. With Min Min comes Vault Boy Mii Gunner, so I wonder if this de-confirms characters like Doom Guy and Dovahkin
Well then, time to figure out how well *Steve* fits into all this. Genre: *Survival Building/Crafting* (? could be used as wildcard genre is you want, but otherwise...) Gender: Both/Both with Male lean(Steve and Alex, plus Zombie and Enderman are species, so they could arguably be either gender, male, or neither) Origin: West Era: *2000s* Publisher: New? Series: New Slots that will need finagling or may just not fit at all are bolded. Era is the hardest to recover IMO.
Completely insane to me that this channel doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of subs yet. This channel loosely reminds me of Game Makers Tool Kit, so hopefully you get the attention that they did!
I’m not sure if this was covered but Ryu Hayabusa still seems like a solid bet for me: ? Genre as hack & slash/ platformer Male East 1980s + 2000s Returning pub- Koei Tecmo Returning Series- originated on NES Especially since there’s still demand for a new Ninja Gaiden game and their secondary publisher, team ninja, has made notable games like Nioh and Fire Emblem/ Hyrule Warriors
if you somehow bring a character that no one suspects until its released you will be praised for you crazy logic and sense for how the next one will be chosen but more likely it will be a character from a series that a director says something like "I like this guy put them in" since thats literally what happened with Min Min
True, but it’s official FULL release was in 2011. It’s like saying a demo of a game came out in 91 and the full version wasn’t completed until 93, logically you need to take the year it was completed cause while both are official releases, 1 is more of a game than the other. I can see your side as it seems they seem to consider the 2009 release date more with the 10 year anniversary in 2019, but this is for this video math’s sake.
