I used to go to church but the doctrine wasn’t sound at all. I haven’t been able to find a sound church. I have had two bouts with illness that kept me away and then came Covid. I have felt the pull really hard to find a church home. I have another issue that I identify as reformed and it’s hard to find a reformed church where I live. I’m going to keep praying about it.
Consider this: submit the "identify" to Him. No need for "reform"...the Bible states to be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind... lastly, ask the Lord to lead you to a ministry that will teach and prove the acceptable and perfect will of God. If you ask this with sincerity, He will give it to you.
I had to pull my family out of a church due to the wonky inconsistent doctrine that came out more often than it should have. The final straw was when the pastor said “ God told me”. We have been searching and searching, but we will wait until The Lord leads us to where we should be.
I don’t know anything at all about Lecrae, but I feel I understand exactly where he’s coming from. I also agree with Corey that it’s likely just been his experience with the churches he’s been to, and not church itself. The problem is, I think the vast majority (not all) of modern American churches fall into the category Lecrae is talking about, so I don’t necessarily blame him for feeling church as a whole is broken. My opinion based on my experience is that most churches are extremely weak spiritually and just going through the motions; there’s no real spirituality or power. I struggle with church and essentially make myself go out of wanting to be obedient. The people are plenty nice, the service is fine, the preaching is sound… but Sunday after Sunday constantly feels like a chore sitting through church. There’s A LOT of otherwise faithful Christians that feel that way, and they’re leaving.
The thing is you cant just go to any church just because it's called a church. It's a process to find a good one. So while you're searching for one, you can still fellowship with other Christian's and attend bible studies whether in person or online.
I would LOVE to find a biblically sound church but so much of the church is full of false doctrine and seeker sensitive. Going to the church for true worship and discipleship has been hijacked. Help us Lord!!
I like to go to church and learn about the word of God and even though I enjoy singing a couple of worship songs I feel somewhat guilty because I really don't enjoy what seems to have become universal in Christian churches 20-25 minutes of singing by the 3rd song I feel like I'm doing forced worship. I even once heard a pastor say if you can't be here for the worship then don't come so for this reason I stop going to church. Seems like every Christian church now has the mandatory 20-25 minutes of signing and one more song at the end of service.
We are going through Ephesians right now and we just read chp5:18-21. It’s important for us to join our voices in unity praising and worshipping GOD. The psalms encourage and instruct us to lift our voices unto GOD. I’m curious if it’s the songs the church is singing because Christ centered songs and hymns should stir us up and remind us of who GOD is and what HE has done. It should never feel forced but should flow authentically from a grateful heart. I don’t agree with what the pastor said but this is no reason to neglect the gathering of believers.
I love the fellowship of church, but I'm sadly back to looking for one. First church I attended and was baptized at, tiptoed around every major issue because they didnt want to hurt feelings. Second church has a literal part time pastor who is only there 6 months out of the year. The other half they just watch prerecorded sermons which means they lack real pastoral care. So I'm gonna start looking again with God's guidance.
I know people that use that as an excuse to. I know there is church hurt, but there is a God who can heal you from that. The enemy uses this as a trap, bc he knows you will stop going to church, but you won’t stop going everywhere else
You are right. Lacrae was describing the majority of what we have today. In fact, many Christians would be better off binging on Corey's message every Sunday than most (not all) Churches they attend nowadays. I encourage people to join a Church to connect with people of like minds, but if they can't find a good one yet, they should join a good online Church like Corey's platform.

This is a hard thing for me because I can't get around. Osteoarthritis makes it very painful and difficult for me to walk so this makes me feel very guilty not going to Church.😢
Church is not a building. The church is the entire body of Christ Jesus. When you are gathered with TRUE believers of Christ you are assembling together as the body of Christ.
You don't have to feel guilty. If your Church streams services, you can join them online. If they don't have one yet, they might start because of you cos it's cheap to setup.
God understands that, and he will not hold it against you. If you had a healthy body with the ability to go to church and then chose not too, that's were the problems arise. Given your situation, try to do what you can to congregate virtually if your church has that. If not, ask for it to be set up, as others have been saying.
The way the church is today I tend to agree with Lecrea. Today's church does no even resemble the early church found in scripture. It's all about LEGALISM! The early church was about leaning on Jesus and his teachings. Today's church is about pleasing the pastor and what he wants. That include content creators. Speaking of content creators, some of them don't even reflect the local church. They are more divisive, I digress. And guess who's shouting louder about church attendance? If money wasn't involved would the pastors even be speaking about it? More importantly, would they even be content creators? Hmmmmmmmm. Just because people are gathering together doesn't necessarily mean they are together. If people had knowledge of church history, this wouldn't even be a discussion. A lot of harm has taken place in the name of church!
I’m going to keep it a buck. I believe 90% of church leaders here in the United States are very unlearned and unfit to lead. They preach out the imagination of their heart and cause others to go astray. We live in an Apostate nation led by mostly apostate leaders. That’s just my opinion. It’s so bad here in Alabama that I just have Bible study in my home on Sunday’s. What’s telling is that the 8 people that gather with me and my wife have similar experiences. I’m going to continue to pray for church leadership.

In Lacraes defense. He is giving his opinion just like the narrator is doing on certain stances. We all grow in Christ and have differdnt seasons to learn the truth! We will all get there. Lacrae explained that scripture wrong! According to that scripture We have to come together if we are going to serve one another. I really wish people would earnestly seek the Lord for understanding! I agree with you pastor Corey, but I haven’t been going to my church for some time because their main focus is ALWAYS on the prophetic. Tailored after Bethel Church in Redding California? I love the people and I feel bad for not going but I feel their focus is off. I really miss a church that it’s focus is on winning the lost and teaching the meat of God’s Word. We agree on the important things so I’ve been trying to decide to go irregardless. I don’t want to become one of those who says I can’t fellowship with you because you don’t agree with me. I think that is wrong to be like that.
What LeCrae is saying has alotta truth to it. Most churches these days are involved in the “theatrics” to some extent. Whether it’s having a charismatic pastor, or fire worship team, lights, cameras, fog machines, that’s just American churches, not all, but most, an inspirational Sunday “show”🤷🏽♂️

Most churches don't have smoke machines, lights, fire worship, etc. We don't have the money to do that. This is plain fact. If you think most churches act like this, then your view is myopic.
I feel it in my spirit to want church and fellowship especially when my flesh tells me the contrary I know from Gods word that we are supposed to congregate no church is perfect but the wheat and tares must grow up together

My church met in my basement while we were looking for a new building. I'm not the pastor. I was the deacon and i had the biggest house that can hold us all.
Sounds like his gripe is with the typical mega churches. But that shouldn't make you reject church as a whole. There are far more regular biblical churches.
Hebrews 10:25 is pretty clear to me. Furthermore 24 and 26 tell us why…. This is a spiritual warfare. We need be in the habit of being around other soldiers for edification.

We NEED to meet. Period. Location isn't the priority, FAITH is. Jesus told the woman at the well there will come a day where those who worship God will worship in Spirit and in Truth. I'm sure the Lord was fully aware of what the state of the physical church would be in these times. God does not dwell in buildings made with hands.

I went to a legalistic church for about 3 years and it was a horrible experience. I’m having a very hard time going back now. I believe in Jesus, but for some reason I just don’t really have a strong desire to go to church.
These are a group of paid rebellions fatherless grown boys who has no identity is Christ. They call on God for needs and trials but no relationship, seems to me they see God as their missing dads, so honor. There is no perfect church. We are imperfect people that come together to worship a Perfect God. There is a church for everyone for those that say they can’t find a church that’s because deep down they don’t want to go to church and they are catering to their carnal mind.
You do not have to go to denominations, they are not the Lord's church. Do I have to be a member of a denomination to be saved? No, I don't, but I do have to be a member of the Lord's church to be saved. When am I added to his church? In Acts 2 Peter preaches the first gospel sermon, the DBR of Christ and in v37 they asked "what must we do" and Peter told them to "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins" and as you keep reading it tells you those who did so, GOD ADDED THEM TO THE SAVED, THE CHURCH, NOT MEN, BUT GOD. So, when I repented and was baptized, God added me to the saved, his church. The church is not a building, it is saved people. The church is the bride of Christ, so why would the bride wear the name Baptist? Methodist? Catholic? and so on
No, that commandment is not repeated in the New Testament. The first Christians started going to church on Sunday because Jesus arose on Sunday! In Acts 15 is the Jerusalem Council. Some people were saying the new Christians needed to keep the law of Moses to be saved. But, Peter said in 15:12 that we are saved through the grace of Jesus! In Acts 20:7-8 and 1st Corinthians 16:2 we see the early church met on Sunday!

Where does it say we should acknowledge the NINE commandments. God said keep my Sabbath day holy for on the SEVENTH DAY he rested and set it apart. Sunday is the first day.

My question is, what was Paul's letter referring to in Romans 14? Romans 14:5-6 (ESV): 5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. I agree the Body of Christ is not tied to a locality where ‘we come to expect’ the Holy Spirit. If I’m not mistaken, God has that department on who is drawn, but I digress. If there was anything that taught us something, it was when Covid transpired. Did the church stop due to this matter? Did Paul make it to every synagogue on his missionary journey? What was the purpose of his epistles? Usually, someone promotes the building more than the building up of the saints with the equipping of God’s word (Ephesians 4). I often wonder what the motive is. I will never know, but God knows Jer. 17:9. We have to be careful that our views do not pervert what the Sovereignty of God’s word says. Because it will be because of the building rather than Christ and Him crucified. It will be because of man and not God! So, aim not to be a spiritual groupie. Test and be a Berean (Acts 17). Suppose you go to a building to gather Praise God. Glory Be to God! My question how do the elderly at nursing home receive the gospel? Check the motive and the heart. How many pastor attend to shepherd them? Also, Hebrews 10:25 whoever the author we have no knowledge was encouraging the Jews who were in Christ who was in the verge of converting back to Judaism due to Christ not returning. And yes I gather but if I cannot make it I cannot. Everyday is the Lords! My question are you ministering to own home? Isn’t that first?
Things in the church we dont need as christians: pulpits, forced giving, idolatty of teachers and so on. Please be balanced in your critic. These guys take advantage of the flaws in modern churches. And when two or three brothers and sistes in Christ gather, yes, thats church. Pastor be critical
If they are always traveling then why not visit local parts of the Body instead of just chopping it up on the bus. But a small group can still have fellowship if thats all there is. I think the question should be can someone love Jesus and not participate in regular organized fellowship. I get that the mega church model is crazy. People drive from all over to go to these churches. But I'm for finding a church in your local community if possible. Sometimes there just isnt a sound church near you. I have found it to be awesome even though there is only a little over 20 members. But thats just me. With technology you can even tune in to your local church via zoom if your on the road, sick in the hospital or anyother reason your are prevented from being there physically, I have nothing wrong with that.
Meeting together as a body of believers is a neccessity. Its in the bible to meet together regularly..its not optional. Being a solo Christian is not in the bible. Solo Christians are to easy a target and you will be destroyed. You will be decieved by the devil. Regarding Lecrae hes irrelevant. Hes rejected God. His views are childish ..he hasnt spiritually grown up.

I would rather folks just simply say that they rather not attend church than to say we don't need to go to church. This is 100% foolish talk. Why would Jesus birth the church so that we (Christians/servants) would neglect it? Doesn't make any sense. I am going to serve the Lord inside and outside of the church. I love the church wholeheartedly as Christ loves it.

The problem I find isn't just that we ARE supposed to gather and commune together but it's the day that the majority of believers got wrong. Sunday is NOT and never has been the Sabbath. The fourth commandment of Elohim's unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Yeshua HaMasciach, (Jesus the Lord) of the Sabbath. People better stop skipping that commandment, breaking it every single week. Nowhere in scripture was the day changed.

It's not a declaration saying we can choose any day we want as the holy Sabbath or that we have to fast, be vegan or eat meat in particular. Basically, we can eat anything we want (if its biblically clean food, they knew better than to eat unclean foods back then so that's not the argument.) Yes, we can praise, worship and honor Elohim every single day of our lives as we should but keeping the Sabbath is a holy commandment, not a suggestion. Roman emperor Constantine I changed the Sabbath day to the first day of the week back 321 A.D., that's the complete opposite of Elohim's commandment; that's a anti-messiah thing to do and folks do it every week. I get it, I was the same way until I stopped following my man made denominational doctrine and truly started following Yehovah's commandments.
