When I was a youngster, my uncle would dress-up as Dee Vee at Chrimbus time. But even as a small child, I knew it couldn't possibly be the real Dee Vee..... not nearly disturbing enough. And Grandpa would dress as Winterman and have all the children sit on his lap...... before the police took him away. Ahh, Chrimbus memories.

I love how beneath all the disgusting, garish Chrimbus nonsense Tim and Eric’s friendship is demonstrably falling apart on stage, then at the end they have a brief moment of reflection where it sounds like they might actually address their problems and grow as people, right before Dee Vee is just like, “NO! What you really need is the Tim and Eric Chrimbus Special DVD!” It’s the exact opposite of a normal Christmas special; there’s no catharsis, just pure commerce presented as the ultimate a solution to emotional pain.
