at 7:05 - you are not going to like what i have to say but that is NOT catfish. I had to wait until you pulled it open.. its the general run of the mill (yet yummy) cheaper asian white fish that is passed off as catfish all the time. they do that at my local “Ocean Crab” seafood house in chantilly, va, and other places. that is why its that super white tender flaky fish but its NOT catfish. its cheaper fish that i also love but, as i told my local seafood house, call it what it is, just say “fried fish” or “fried white fish”. can you find out if the owners are asian? im curious. that would explain it. i love asian food, i love it all, but im just telling you as someone that knows fish and seafood.
Hey, finally a place that I've been to...Cochon Butcher! It was just down the street from my hotel. So good I went there two nights in a row (I walked right past Turkey and Wolf--kind of wish I had gone there after seeing that fried baloney sammy 🙂) I recommended Cochon to a friend who was visiting New Orleans--she liked it so much she went there two nights in row too!
Char broiled oysters look amazing and Morrow's fried seafood mountain, ya gotta have someone to share it, and the Cajun Alfredo pasta w/crawfish! You looked like you had a blast there. Happy Eating 😊
So sad I couldn’t get into Morrow’s when I tried this past summer. Eating vicariously, thanks Mikey! I highly recommend reserving a table at least a couple days in advance!!!
Wow! The Alfredo sauce and fried catfish looked fantastic!! Great little video!f Thanks for sharing the info and your overall experience! Really enjoyed it!!
I think it is still closed for renovations. They sell premade sandwiches next door and a few other places but definitely not made to order or fresh. Better to get the sandwiches made fresh by others until Central Grocery reopens and makes them to order.
That food looks so beautiful! You can tell none of it was ever frozen by how quickly that catfish fell apart! The only thing missing are some hush puppies! But it’s a safe bet it’s got to be on the menu somewhere.
If you cross the Mississippi River, go check out Chicken's Kitchen! Amazing soul food served cafeteria style in to go plates. Bearcat uptown and in the central business district has great brunch/lunch options (I think the CBD location does dinner too), but there's almost always a line.
Good God Goodness gracious me! I love to sandwiches flat Lord have mercy! The catfish with the Pasta Alfredo! Child, Then the Mega Fried Seafood Platter! I'm dying❤❤❤
Oh yum yum!! I've lived in Alabama all my life. We had a family beach house in Orange Beach with my grandparents and Aunt and Uncle. But every summer we always took several weekends in New Orleans. Best food memories of my whole life!!
I don’t know if it’s the lighting or what, but the crawfish pasta looked like it had dried up on top as though it had been sitting a while. Everything there looks delicious, but the pasta gives me pause.
Hey Mike. This wasa treat.. I never been to N.O., but im definitely going to get there. I love creole food. I know in New Orleans. Its the best. Ive also heard their food is bomb. You really just teased me. En-joy!! 🐞❤️🤤
I love to watch your videos. Especially whenever i am on strict diets due to health reasons. “He can eat that much?wow” “That looks so delicious!” “Shall i make that?but of course i need to abide by the diet rules” “I am gonna make that whenever this diet is over” So yeah. Thank you Mike. Stay healthy!
We gotta get you out of New Orleans and over to Lafayette for genuine Cajun food. New Orleans has great Creole food, if you stay out of the tourist traps.
City can be hit or miss, I live near by the city is basically the murder capital of the US. Some areas are relatively safe, other areas have very high crime. Some parts of the town you have to pass threw to get on the highway, even if you get a flat you shouldn't stop for. 9th ward is the worst of the worst, frequent car jackings at stop lights, armed robbery, etc The typically stuff you see in big cities but all concentrated into small areas.
Is New Orleans actually your favorite food city in the country because New York’s pretty good a lot of Texas is good California, Memphis, Wisconsin, Washington there’s a lot
