Welcome to this guided meditation for easing loneliness. This is a mindfulness meditation created to help you while in social isolation or even if you are around other people but feel a lack of social connection.
Loneliness is a feeling that will come and go. And it's normal. Even in a busy houseful of other people, or in a busy office full of colleagues, loneliness can occur.
Feeling lonely or like you don't have closeness with someone can make you feel low and can heighten other symptoms. Being busy, whether busy with tasks, busy with lots of people, or busy on social media, won't take away loneliness. Because it's about connection, and closeness. But being aware of your loneliness and making peace with how it makes you feel can help.
Loneliness happens as a response to the environment you live in. There are things you can do to ease the feeling of loneliness but the main mindfulness technique, is to realize that your mind is your true home. So keeping your mind calm and uncluttered can help you feel connected to yourself.
Three things to remember are:
1. Keeping a calm mind means you already have a calm home.
2. You can develop new social connections with new or old acquaintances at any point.
3. You can develop a closer relationship with people by really taking the time to understand what it's like to be them.
Make peace with your loneliness and anxiety. It might look like you're doing nothing. But often, this is when the hardest work is going on. And it's when you need that calm mind most of all. Thich Nhat Hanh talks about embracing loneliness here on this video • The Art of Embracing L...
Things may not have worked out the way you want them to. Perhaps relationships have soured or having an illness has limited your social life. But if you have a calm mind, your happiness will shine from within.
Be well, be calm,
❤ Clare

I research, write, narrate and edit free Guided Meditation videos for people who are suffering with chronic illnesses. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2004 but was creating relaxation resources for my clinical clients even before that (using a tape recorder 🖭).
Using my knowledge, soft voice and empathy, I create my meditations with the hope that they’ll reach the right person exactly when they need it. I hope this video brings you light, love and happiness. Thank you so much for watching my videos and for linking, sharing and subscribing.
