I could not think of a better replacement for the late great Jon Lord than Don Airey. He never forgets to put in Jon Lord licks on his playing because I know that's how much he respects Jon Lord.

In the organ intro, both Don Airey's sound and style remind me of Keith Emerson during the early ELP period. I did not expect that; now, I am pleasantly surprised.
There's bound to be some changes in a band that's been together for 40 plus years. Deep Purple did a great job, with their lineup changes. Not a tribute band what so ever. Keeping the integrity of quality of musicianship. The one constant is change. Deep Purple has rolled with stupendously. Steve Morse is definitely the right man for the job. Don Aire was Jon Lord's favorite keyboardist. Love all the post Blackmore Era albums as well. What Next.
At first i didn't know what is about 'bird of prey ' and then i noticed this song about nature, i love this type of song, fantastic deep purple i like your band since 1970's.

Amazing, Lord and Airey, are in the same level...big hammond players and great musicians, Morse, is great too, Blackmore is other class of player one of a kind, but Morse is a deep rock and fusión player. Lord is playing now with Hendrix and manny more.
Not quite true that statememt. When Don joined the band he didnt have a Hammond and had to use Jon's. He eventually got one because that hammond oran is in a lot of ways central to the Deep Purple sound.
