I am 64 years old and I listened to Deep Purple's first LP "Shades of Deep Purple" when I was 9 years old. Since then I have never stopped loving them.
I've been a Deep Purple fan all my life. First album I purchased was Machine Head. I am now 62 and can't stop rocking at the sound of this magnificent music. Deep Purple forever!
Same , I'm 63 and always a fan of DP, one of my greatest bands ever including Genesis, Led Zeppelin, UFO, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd ....and more. Rock music at its best.
The way that John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore go back and forth as they ad lib with subtle changes is amazing. They do it so naturally, so flawlessly. I love it.
I love Machine head it's one of Rock's few ultra iconic albums, but the Coverdale years were still VERY good. I'm glad that it was a brief swift run because Coverdale keeping up with that quality was bound to crash.
Can you remember remember my name As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown And cold spirits of ice All my life I am the echo of your past I am returning the echo of a point in time Distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known And laughing as the spirits appear All your life Shadows of another day And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers I know I must remain inside this silent Well of sorrow A strand of silver hanging through the Sky Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Is aching with the dead of the night Precious life (your tears are lost in falling rain) And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers
I'm 67, was a teen in the 70's, I still rock out to all this great 70's rock every nite!! Deep Purple was always a big favorite,Timeless music in my opinion!!!
Indeed and I saw them again in 2022 and will see them back in Oktober ,I'm so looking forward to the gig. I love Ian's voice since jezus Christ Superstar one of the first albums I bought in the seventies. They still play and sing perfect!
Happy 76th Birthday Richard Hugh Blackmore 14 April 1945. Dropped out of school age 15. First session recording age 16. New dad age 67. R&R Hall of Fame age 71. Pretty unique life so far. But that's our Ritchie..
Deep purple knocks it out of the ballpark with this live song perfect strangers Ian Gillian on vocals, Ritchie blackmore on guitar and the rest of the band doing a incredible job and the song is done with 🎭 perfection.
@@zaporozeukraina1623and I love how nonchalant he is about "the rest of the band". No big deal it's only Jon Lord, Ian Paice and Roger Glover. Those guys are nobodies anyway. Just look at Ian he even plays backwards...😉
Jon Lord was my first an main influence on the hammond organ, and he still is. When I first heard Made in Japan he truly blew me away. Awesome. Jon rocks on the hammond organ like nobody else.
🎤🎤🎸🎸🎷🎹🎶🎵🎼🎺🥁😜🤩
I saw the great Deep Purple on March 11 1985 at Joe Louis arena, hands down one of the greatest concert I ever saw! I feel sorry for this generation, they have nothing even remotely resembling the rock of my time! 👍
I remember when this album came out. A reawakening of sorts. They conquered their demons and animosities long enough to not only show they could still do it but they could still kick some ass. So many bands miss the mark trying to prove their relevance with mediocre displays of musicianship and weak material. These guys still had songs to write and gigs to play and they weren't phoning anything in. Mean Streak, Knocking at Your Back Door, Perfect Strangers and the rest are each individually excellent songs and together they make up an album that is hard to beat from beginning to end. Love them. Love this.
🙅😈🙋👍😠👍🙋........ ...DEEP PURPLE .....
@@barryrammer7906 I didnt say it was their best album. I said it was hard to beat. By that I meant for what that album was. A comeback of sorts. It was an album they could be proud of. Not some watered down, attempt at relevance, or trying to make a top 40 hit on the way out.
Deep Purple? What is there to say? This is the band I remember playing on the radio and rocked it loud, nothing today in music will ever compare with the greats from beginning of rock, you can take hip hop and all that other so called music and you will never get anything like Deep Purple or bands back in the 70’s! Rock on
One of the most TIMELESS pieces of rock n roll music history in my book of Legend. 4 instruments and an epic voice.. bringing notes together that even Mozart would bang his head to.Dam GLORIOUS.
It's obvious who he is singing about.....Satan has known a 1000 warriors because he is the god of war, death & destruction aka A-bad-don the Destroyer in Revelation 9:11
Gillan, Dio are about level to me. Different songs that suited their respective voices. We were all so blessed to hear them both. I love DP and Rainbow...and PF....and the Who.
If every member of this band, was as 'engrossed' as Jon, then this would have been an absolute spectacle. This is a band that has proved itself. Members of which have gone on to even more spectacular things. Gillan still doing what he does best. Roger being the backbone of the riff, Pace being the absolute pinnacle of engine rooms. Blackmore being Blackmore, in a dimension/league of his own and totally misunderstood!. A performance which is likely to be overlooked by many, viewed by lots, admired by those that know!
ntsms69 : yeah man. But you can tell there’s something off between the band members in this video. Its well known that Ian Gillian and Ritchie Blackmore hate each other, they were probably fighting before this show.
I've always felt whether it was consciously or not Ian and Ritchie wrote this because the more time pushed on and especially at this time in their history together and their (last) time together they knew "energetically" "they must remain Perfect Strangers" and move forward without each other, you can almost see it's what they're thinking to themselves watching any performance of this I've seen, I think this reunion was their way of proving to themselves that it had come to the end of what was and could never again be. This lineup of Deep Purple made magic together, yet Ritchie's demons didn't like Ian's demons and vise versa it turned black and the only way to again find the light was to remain "Perfect Strangers"✌🏼️
That, forever, best we remain perfect strangers (and not attempt to be buddies)Yes, I can see that. Just like when Dio wrote you are just a rainbow in the dark!
Awesome song that never will get old for me. I think it's hilarious how some folks have said stuff like keyboards don't fit or belong in metal. Well they've never heard this track obviously.
