Thanks for sharing. Sad about the low numbers. Back in Wisconsin before we moved my hubby was a taxidermist plus we both hunted. We have seen over the last couple years the deer numbers go down. And luckily we moved out here to Idaho two years ago missing that long deep freeze that really affected the herds. WE are just gearing up for our rut out here. A little later then you guys back in Minnesota. Looks like you still had a nice time!!

I must say sir, you are a fantastic father...at least judging by the videos you put up. I too was raised by and am still learning from an amazing father. (I am 31 years old.) But as long as my father is around I am gonna continue to learn from him, as it seems Sara will from you sir. I am sure she enjoys the time with you as much as you do her sir. Best of luck with future endeavors and keep the vids coming. They help me retreat from my desk job while at work.

Hey buddy...love videos...but from one hunter to another... deer pattern hunters... you seem to be hunting 2/3 stands and always hunt same times.. I suggest switching it up.. hunt at lunch... most deer walk between 10-2 no matter what climate... but I would love to have what you and u family have... you are very blessed.... greetings from NC...

I live in New Mexico and the hunting here is the best , you have a nice place there for ruffing it , that's not so ruffing it , you have it all and more good food and you're place looks just great . Thank you so much for the video .

Either Sara is a great sport or your just really brave to be filming her waking up. If I did that with my kid I had best be sleeping with one eye open after that. Always enjoy these tent videos, they are my favs.

Joe, I don't know how you stay skinny . You eat more at one meal than I eat all day . And can't lose weight. Also your tent is deceiving from the inside . Doesn't look like a tent at all. You need to come to North Carolina we are over run with deer. You can only hunt doe for a week here if allowed and bow hunt for a week if allowed . Most of the time you can take 2 to 3 buck a season sometimes more . So many deer have been pushed out of there habitat from development that the deer are coming back in to the city .They have learned that they are safe and want be shoot at. I have deer in my neighorhood from time to time and I'm only a mile from down town. There have been so many people that have moved from the northern states that it's getting hard to find native tarheels like myself. It's even been brought up at city council meetings to try and slow the number of people moving into this area . 1000 to 1500 move into this area a month. Running out of space . Thanks keep up the good videos. Oh ! why can't you get to your place after Thanksgiving . Do they not allow hunting all winter or is it just to hard to get there because of the snow. You own the land I don't see why you can't get to it when you want too. We don't have restrictions like that here ?

I am a bird hunter, lifetime NRA, Turkey, Grouse, Partridge, Pheasant , I like the chase, a tree stand to me is not hunting, it is ambushing. Did that but targets had their own guns so it was fair. But I do love his life style,so jealous.

My favorite time of the year deer hunting yippy .Love being at the camp with my brothers enjoying the hunt.

This was a REALITY hunting show! I watched it all the way through. People in many areas of the country can't imagine hunting this much without seeing a deer, but in some states, it is very tough hunting. I watched a few videos last night of folks hunting in Texas. It was sickening. In one video, on an area a third of the size of a football field there was three feeders and a water trough. The deer acted like cattle! And they were everywhere! "Nope, don't shoot that one, he's not over 180 inches"! Then when they kill one, they act like they have conquered the world, when they haven't put much effort into it at all. Anyway, for some reason, I got very hungry watching this video, and I feel like I need to go take a shower! lol Next year, wake Sara up at 4:50am since you should know by now she is going to lay there til the last minute anyway. You are robbing her of 20 minutes sleep every morning! lol Good luck next time!

You should do a tour of property and the backwoods cabin. Great vids. Im from Massachusetts and wish there was lakes and woods like your state. If doomsday ever comes with your set up and family you're good to go!!

Last year I didnt even see a deer by my stand. In kansas here. I saw some deer other places just not there, It was fridged though. One day it was negative 30 with the wind chill. That grill you could fix, i've fixed alot of them. You can get replacement parts for those.

The worst part of deer hunting for me is that last hour. By then I'm nearly frozen and ready to go.

Love this video, reminds me of my hunting camp, except we don't have electricity or showers. No TV, and just aradio for listening to Badger and Packer football games in front of the fire place. And my group is 15-16 guys ages 12-80. Made me dang hungry watching this good food.

I had never heard of a pork steak until I started watching your videos. You cook one on almost every tent video. Your meals look delicious.

Its frustrating to put in all that time and not even get a chance at a deer. When I was much younger, I got to go to "Les Kime's Bear Camp" around Ray, MN and hunt for a black or cinnamon bear. 56 hours in the stand and ground blind, and all I got to see was a very large wolf up close and personal (hope this never happens again - latter). I feel your pain sir. Keep the faith!

Watching this vid made me soooo jealous!! I didn't go out this year, my buddy whom I hunt with stared a new job and couldn't make it. Just to be out there is enjoyable in of itself. You have a beautiful place.

Thanks for sharing the first week of deer camp with us. Michigan's firearm season started November 15 and runs through the end of the month. I have to miss all of it ths year, finally got back surgery today and am doing well and on the road to recovery. The State DNR had two propositions on the ballot this year to legalize creating a wolf hunting season and both got shot down. Our wolf population isn't quite as large as yours, but given some time I'm sure it'll become a factor in deer populations. Enjoy the rest of your season, looking forward to enjoying your deer camp in the next episode!

I'm at the part where you're cooking your potatoes I have a recipe for you put some butter in your frying pan cut some onions get the canned potatoes and to that you want to add pepper paprika and salt tell me how it comes out

Since the 2019 video isn’t up yet I thought I would watch an old one -- I was shocked when you were washing dishes in your cast iron skillet! No soap!

I love watching your deer hunting videos to get excited for the upcoming season. Season doesn't open until Nov. 30th here in Pennsylvania. Can't wait for your 2015 video, hopefully some more action this year! Any news on the wolves this year?
