John Carpenter's 90s movies often don't receive the credit they deserve, overshadowed by his earlier classics. However, this decade showcases Carpenter's versatility and ability to adapt to changing cinematic landscapes. Today, we defend Vampires, Village Of The Dammed, and Body Bags. While not as celebrated, Carpenter's 90s contributions are a testament to his enduring creativity and willingness to evolve, deserving recognition for their underrated impact on horror cinema.

John Carpenter's Vampires is one of the best vampire movies ever, it's fun, it's stylish, it's soooo cool - a diamond!

What I like most about the movie "Vampires" is that the vampires are very realistic. Those vampires are not romantic, they smell bad and have really bad breath.

My friends and brother saw Vampires when I was 15 and the part where Baldwin put the lighter flame to his arm and screamed had us hysterical for 5 minutes. We just kept rewinding it over and over.

I avoided hiring this movie as a kid just because of the name! how creative i thought calling your movie vampires, eventually when i saw it was blown away by how it was action and a horror, motel massacre scene creeped me out, just knocks on the door to be let in!!! yep thats what a vampire killing an entire motel full of people looks like. Then the fog which is the coolest ghost movie ever in my opinion

Vampires was fun, however I think the opening scene kinda overpowers the rest of the film. But James Woods and the atmosphere really makes it worth the trip. Also, since when did leather Jackets, Jeans and Shades go out of fashion? Woods looks like a badass.

There are things I loved from the 90s and others I didn't. Positive 👍 for horror films from John Carpenter and Wes Craven. Negative 👎 for music artists who complained while singing like Kurt Cobain (I prefer the energy of White Zombie). I don't miss the heavy drug/alcohol use. I lost some friends from my youth.

In the 90's the government and the media was attacking p*rn, tobacco companies, big v8's/SUV's, red meat and guns. When you watch this movie now with that context it's like a giant middle finger to the nanny state of its day. It's message is wholesome despite its vulgar nature.

I know it's an 80s movie but Prince of Darkness is criminally underrated. the 80s and 90s were the best for horror and sci-fi. The last 20 years has been terrible. Eli Roth is a hack, David Gordon Green is awful, Ari Aster has made 2 of he worst movies I have ever seen. I wish Carpenter wouldn't have gotten so disillusioned with the studio system. I bet he had a few more classics in him.

Nah, Carpenter is hands down my favorite horror director. However he went downhill after "They Live." THAT was his last 'GREAT' cult classic (emphasis on the word GREAT). After that, the only thing worth watching IS "Vampires." His absolutely WORST was "Ghost of Mars. I respect his cynical attitude but it did not help his career in the later years whatsoever. And that shows in the low earning crap movies he's done in his later career. And what he allowed Blumhouse and David Gordon Green to do to his Halloween. I'm over his distaste of what he created. He lost me there with Halloween III. Embrace what the fans did for you dude. Halloween 1978 put you on the world Wide map buddy. "Assault on Precinct 13" wasn't a hit until it hit the UK. And "Dark Star" is a movie only his DIEHARD FANS know about without it being Googled.
