Blue velvet is a masterpiece, a classic, one of the best movies ever made. One of the best cinematography pieces of work that will ever be made. Like a film out of the vault of heaven. Something like a aged liquor that cannot be duplicated. A movie that can be experienced on so many levels that it can't be described on a individual scale.😂❤❤❤❤❤💙

"Blue Velvet" and "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" are among my group of flicks I make sure I watch annually. These are both utter masterpieces (in my opinion) created by the maestro who is David Lynch. I'll never forget seeing "Blue Velvet" for the first time (late at night on cable after the parents were asleep). I could not have been more blown away and freaked out. I think it completely helped shift my taste in movies at the time and made me hungry for more Lynch movies, prompting me to seek out "Eraserhead." An absolute gem of a film and another awesome entry in this series! Cheers!

I just watched Blue Velvet for the first time a couple days ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I already saw Mulholland Drive a year or so ago. I was reading a script I was working on and thought, hey I'll put on a movie in the background. I put on Blue Velvet and couldn't take my eyes off the screen.

It would have been a sight to see if David Lynch took up George Lucas's offer to direct Return of the Jedi.

I'm not one to advocate drugs, but Lynch's work somehow makes more sense if you are stoned. And if you're not not stoned, trying to make sense of it will make you feel like you are.

One of David Lynch's best films, in my opinion, and a great early role for Laura Dern. Perhaps Jeffrey Beaumont and Agent Dale Cooper are one and the same?!

When I was a teen and first saw this movie, I found it at Blockbuster in the horror section, so I have always viewed it as a horror film. I made me very very uncomfortable when I was in my mid-teens, and I’ve always deducted that whatever makes me feel that way is related to, if not, horror. Same with Apocalypse Now. I saw that at a very young age with my dad and it gave me nightmares.

Another great video. I got into Lynch after Lost Highway. Mostly for the soundtrack and NIN and other artists on it. When I watched it. I was like .....WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MOVIE EVEN ABOUT!!!! I watched it over and over and over in the same weekend I rented it. I had NEVER been soooo confused by a movie in my life. Then I realized I liked it. Not knowing and thinking about it. I became obsessed with the mystery. After that, I had to have more. Then I watched Mulholland Drive, then Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, and early works. I had already seen Dune and I gotta say I don't mind that movie at all. I think it gets crapped on too much. Anyways, Lynch takes a movie and makes you PAY ATTENTION!!!!

After being invited to see "Eraserhead" at a midnight, I was hooked on all things Lynchian. Seeing this at an MGM studio screening blew my mind and reminded me why I love "Pabst Blue Ribbon!" The film gave me serious "Touch of Evil" vibes.

A truly great movie. It’s weird but also very compelling. The cinematography and music are excellent. Artsy but still accessible. A lot of Lynch’s other work is much more niche.

Roger Ebert is the literal worst. Proof that most critics are highly biased and untalented
@karl_alan
@karl_alan 6 месяцев назад
I mean, yeah....critics specialize in their type of art. And art is divisive, so if they're watching something that's not the style they like, they're going to rate it poorly. The whole point of popular critics that review everything, is you get to know what types of movies they like, what they hate, and how that overlaps with your preferences. With Ebert, I could watch him and if it was a slasher movie & he hated it, I knew I'd get entertainment from it. If it was horror and he liked it, I knew I had to be in the right mood to want to watch it but would probably enjoy it, if it was sci-fi and he liked it I would too, and if it was a drama & he loved it, I knew it wasn't for me. Critics aren't good or bad...when it comes to subjective art, you've just gotta know where their interests and yours overlap. They're supposed to have their own taste, biases and preferences....you can't objectively rate a subjective artistic medium as good or bad. It's up to the populous looking at the review to figure out where they and the critic's biases and taste overlap or differ & go from there.

@@poindextertunesYeah people said Die hard is a Christmas movie and things like Shrek and Seinfeld as animes but i do think Blue Velvet is a horror film because it has some horror elements in there i do think it's kind of a psychological drama or thriller or a black comedy like some people said it overall Blue Velvet is one of my favorite films of David Lynch i do think surreal film because it was directed by David lynch know for his Surreal movies like Eraserhead and The elephant man you could call Eraserhead a horror movie because it was on this channel a year ago you could watch it if you want I'm just a guy with a profile picture of Nausicaa from Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind great movie.
