Excellent work, your footwork has seriously improved by far. Can't wait to finish this project and getting in some work with some of the masters like yourself. I learned "footing" the same way.
nice defense from England. I like the way you block with your forearm you rarely see that but you make it look effective. I'm going to try it, I'm a amateur boxer that competes. your parrying is good aswell and the way you circle. I think you would make a fine professional, you movement is poetry, thanks for uploading this you gave me something to think about. I wonder where you get that forearm block thing from? in most boxing gyms they teach parrying, blocking, shoulder roll etc but that forearm thing looks really good.
Can someone explain how this resembles Charles Burley? There aren’t many fight or highlights of him on RU-vid. Was a Charles a user of the cross arm defense?
All respect to Lyte but this has nothig to do with Charlie Burley...I see more Archie Moore than Burley..I wish Lyte would have used this video opportunity to point out the value of the cross arm gaurd....notably used by Archie Moore , moving to the right of a orthodoxed opponent to nulify his power hand and the value of being able to shift position to southpaw all of which is skillfully displayed here
@SignorFOX Sir, This man's training walks in reality & truth, So i feel that any combat adversity would be met with the appropriate combat formula. I have been watching this young man for a while now & i feel that his 52blocks style is well rounded & very combat sound...So it seems to me that your comment theory can only be proved...... in the ring, Sir.
Not even close to Charlie Burleys style.....Burley did not bounce around...Burkey believed in the conservation of energy ..and the economy of movement..nothing Burley did was overdone or overexaggerated..each movement was methodically timed and placed ..Burleys footwork was more similar to Joe Louis....and In terms of the side angle stance..all the great ol school fighters from the '30s to the late 60's fought in this fashion Ezzard Charles, Sugar Ray Robinson, Archie Moore, Willie pep, George Benton, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, etc etc..this still didn't change till Ali came along .and even if you watch Ali his stance is side angled ..he's just bouncing on his toes while he;'s doing it..Mexican fighters like Chavez, De LaHoya, Barrera etc made the straight up stance popular but its flawed defensively..BHop James Toney & Floyd Mayweather revived ol school boxing's side angle stance in 90's and until today...its no wonder why these fighter take less punishment in their battles (jt, and Floyd have never been KO'd and BHop only once in his last fight when he was just too old)because Charley Burley and all the greats of his era fought out of this position..largely explains why fighters of that era could fight 100 -200 fights in a career
Sorry this is nothing like charley burley and that's My main defense coach and he doesn't run or bounce anything like that. I can show you real charley burley skills as a heavyweight pro. But Good work tho nice footwork
Absolutely..I was thinkng the same thing ..this has nothing to do with Charley Burley...its not his footwork..Burley believed in economy of movement...This video would have meaning and value..if it covered the use of the cross arm block of Archie Moore or the shifting pattern from orthodox to southpaw of Bob Fitzimmons, or Jack Dempseys walk away retreat..but aside from the resemblance of name Lyte Burly..(who I respect which is why this suprises and dissappoints me because Lyte is usually very informative and obviously skilled as you can see)b ut.....this has no Charles Burley association...and if so please point it out .and make it a valuable informative film study rather than just a couple of guys bouncing around in the park
@@xGhostRidah ok ray Robinson that’s a good beat to be on well since your a ray Robinson fan I got a question 🙋♂️ what’s the name of the fight he had that made the mob tell him he can’t fight in the USA and he went abroad an lost his belt?
@@52blocksinfo I'm a charley burley fan as well. Btw his last name is "Burley" not Burly. The 1st fight with Jake Lamotta was all politics. After that he went on to win 85 straight fights. Some crazy number like that and was 126-1 before he met Randy Turpin. They both were great but Ray Robinson was on a different level. Charley Burley was the greatest defensive boxer of all time.
@@xGhostRidah yea I wasn’t trying to Jack his name totally there is only on CB an that fight was called the Valentine’s Day massacre but your close enough.. SALUTE
I'm not gonna hammer you, but it's one thing to slip and weave a few lazy punches from a couple drill partners and calling your work comparable to the great Charley Burley.
