Thanks for this video. I'll keep it in mind for my cities. I've found that flattening everything seems like a compulsion for me, since I don't like the deformation that many buildings do to the terrain, nor do I like when flat roads/paths in an asset deform to match the terrain. I think a more refined smoothing algorithm when buildings are plopped or built in zoning would do wonders to improving the looks of cities. I wish I could trust the game to build on uneven terrain in a more aesthetically pleasing way. All that said, I think the biggest thing I can do to get a good looking city is just to plan more and slow down. Just cause the game allows quick building, doesn't mean it won't look better with more thought and effort.
Is it possible to make the auto-generated building better fit to the landscape, instead of we trying to alter landscapes to prevent the buildings from generating weird shapes?
As an Xbox player I am really looking forward to playing cities skylines 2 and I have faith in the Devs and it's to my understanding that there is only about 30 of them working on cities skylines 2 so I give them credit for what they have done so far even if it is buggy because if you stop to think about it big game developers for e.g Bethesda and Rockstar when they made well known game titles such as GTA or The Elder Scrolls and even the new game Starfield they are buggy still to this day and yet both those Developers have a few hundred Devs working on those games so once again give these 30 Devs who are working on Cities skylines 2 some credit for what they have done so far and be patient like I am as they say good things come to those who are patient. But I would like to ask if in some point in the future could we please have a map editor/creator and the ability to make buildings historical as I am hoping for these features as it is what I need for my RU-vid channel to show off the wonderful things that can be done in Cities Skylines 2 and in the process help raise money for good causes as I will be creating real world locations in North America and Europe and linking Charities to these real villages, Towns and Cities I recreate and for some fun I will recreate some of the Cities from other Games to really show off the possibilities in Cities Skylines 2. Thank You Devs for getting this far I wish you luck and hopefully if we all stay positive and with positive communication issues can be solved in a better manner I will also like to Thank the PC Players for spotting bugs and reporting them because without you guys playing it on release none of these bugs may of been found and Thanks to guys for reporting it not only does it get it sorted for PC but for us guys on console, so many Thanks to you all and stay positive. Take care everyone.
I love your road layouts. I'd like to watch an whole short 60min episode about that. It's hard to mimic your style. You must have some kind of mystic knowledge of city builders guild
Love this game, keep working on it! Also heres a tip, Please dont fumble this game, you have put so much work into this Stop listening to the haters/people who don't know any better Make the the game playbe for the 93% of players lost sincere launch So most likely performance, bug fixes, ai, etc Then once its where you wanted Like on launch day but its actually ready, you can add in the new content for everyone that has been craving for it But i can wait for new content 😌 All im saying, hard work pays off Even if it takes time Love you CO
@SanctumGamer, really nice video. I hope Czardus is paying attention. He leaves too many spots unfinished. 😆 In all seriousness, love the suggestions toward the end. The various ways to fill the spaces is a really great tip. 🙂
Nice try; however considering there really aren't decent detailing tools in the game, detailed landscaping isn't really possible. For example, you can't place fully grown trees nor place them with a line tool along roads.
I wish I could make row housing, but medium density demand has been dead for the last 20 hours. I have boat loads of schools, unis and colleges everywhere. Is this game just super broken or am I missing something massive here? I stream this game every Sunday morning, Im at +200k now. I have afked for about 10 hours as well.
did you click the button to see what is missing? my understanding is that your population can continue growing with out new zoning and it may take a while for your population to catch up to your neighborhoods. you can also try lowering the tax rate to boost demand
Hi, what button? Which tax should I lower? My higher educated tax are lowered to 5% but I dont know who prefers to live in medium density.@@Lildizzle420
THe city you have made still looks extremely bare with not enough trees and foliage. I expect more shrubery and trees in the housing lots not just in some park area 10 meters from the road with only 1 type of tree.
Is any new dlc coming out for cities remastered for console? The fact that we did not get cities 2 and have no clarity if we will get it any time soon. Why haven't you give us something we could play? Or is it you don't care about the rest of us.
They say spring, but I don't think they will make it. The game does not run smoothly on the PC and even with a high end PC you have problems from 100k pop
Waiting on updates, more skyscraper designs, and probably Travel and Tourism DLCs. The game kinda gets boring when all you do is flatten terrain and lay down roads for Residential or Commercial Areas.
I never had issues with the game but it's unplayable since the last update. Cars, trucks, ships and airplanes speed up then slow down. Over and over again. I don't even have a rubbish computer. Dose my head in and only on this game. Stopped playing because of this issue.
Great presenter, broken game ... did you noticed the lonely Palm tree in the video description, like it was a internal joke already at Colossal Order? ...
Some positive feedback to CO... a couple of weeks ago I left a (constructively) critical comment on another video on your channel, asking you sincerely to take Biffa's feedback to heart, and to act fast to move things in a better direction. I just wanted to say that the most recent Word of the Week was a great start, in my view. I think that's exactly the type of transparency and constructive sharing that people are needing in order to keep the dream of this game alive. That's what we all want (we're with you in wanting this to be a fantastic game!)... if we know there's a clear plan, and that you've truly heard the problems, I think a lot of us are willing to stand by the game and give you the time to improve it. So as long as you're able to keep that type of transparent and honest communication coming out every couple of weeks to give us updates on core progress, I really think the serious fans of this game (and content creators!!) will be here to really embrace it fully when things are genuinely back on track. So thank you -- kiitos! -- and keep it up!! ❤
