I read in a comments section somewhere to imagine this song was written from the point of view of a dog going for a car ride. I've not heard it the same since.
Denise Radley I read the same thing in the comment section of a different reaction video. I am now absolutely convinced that was MJK had in mind when he wrote this song.
Best.Reaction.Ever. This has become my favorite reaction of all time. I just couldn't stop laughing. The only problem is, why am I now imagining Chino and Maynard having sex in the damn car.
when he starts talking about them doing it while driving, i'm almost in tears from laughing so fucking hard. The mental images this poor guy was getting, feeling like he was in the car watching....therefor...he is their passenger... LOL
You have a dope personality man. You can tell from your candor that you’re a stand up cool guy. Love the sense of humor and most importantly love your reactions. Peace and blessings 🤘🏽
“Basically, I told him I wanted to create a scenario of being in a car and being taken for a drive when you don't really know what's going on. I wanted him to create a lot of imagery. he wrote a majority of the of the lyrics and left blanks for me to fill in. It seems like you're being held captive, but enjoy what's going on." - Chino.... While it does seem like there is some sexual undertones, I’m not sure it’s meant to be wholly about sex. Jmo
Everything has sexual undertones with Chino... it was a car crash with ejected bodies more than likely. Just like digital bath was about being electrocuted in the tub by the radio.
@@googleisevil1041 It sounds crazy, but there are a few songs out there where it seems like the musicians are trying to say something more with their words than you get from their face value...i've read a few books and poems like that, too. But everytime I try to bring it up at my under-funded school in the inner city my teacher calls me an "Alex Jones lookin' ass," so maybe you're right.
5:09 Lmao I'm dead I read the comments knew what was coming but damn that shit was seriously hilarious. "I'm your passenger...." "Yea I bet...l " "I'm your passenger" ... " hahah ahhhh" LMAO hahahahahahahhahah
It's not about sex and most deftones songs are not about sex. Do you even listen to deftones or are you just assuming because of the way his voice sounds?
@@theoneandonlylordfarquaad3361 This song is about letting go and feeling comfortable enough to let someone take control; entrusting your life/heart in someone else's hands. Some parts even seem to refer to a back and forth relationship. Read between the lines you simple minded fool. Not everything is as simple as "it's about sex bro". There are messages behind lyrics, dingbat
Had to bust out the Adrenaline album just two days ago! It's good shit. I've seen them on tour twice as I recall. Back to School tour for sure. Good times.
The “passengers” theory could still apply I mean listening to a song is technically a personal experience...so you could be the “passenger” 🤷🏻♂️ I like that perspective! You even said why am I acting like I’m there”...they’ve pulled you” into this experience
Deftones my favorite band ever. From around the fur to diamond eyes and other albums. Next up digital bath, change, my own summer, risk and knife party.
I've been a tool fan for a while but had only listened to a few of the deaftones songs that are on the radio. But our engagement gift from my sister in law was a deaftones concert! Unfortunately the first show got canceled, then the new date clashed with our wedding plans...but that one was rescheduled again so now we finally get to go in May!!! I'm so excited! They seem to have a similar vibe to Tool and I know this concert is going to be amazing!
Was wondering when you were going to get to Deftones. Loads of joy headed your way. 😉 For another cameo Deftones song try “Mein” with Serj from System of a Down. Then hit up almost any Deftones for pure enjoyment. I’ll pick Ohhhhhh I dunno, “You’ve Seen the Butcher”.
Max Goldberg I forgot Jamel already did Deftones too! LOL I chose Butcher cause it was the last song I heard by them yesterday and figured there would be requests for every other track. I know it’s not their best song but it’s one I really like and think most people do too.
@@KoRn_NuTT How could I forget about that song. It was the first song that I wanted him to hear and as I was writing this late night, I completely forgot about my favorite NIN song. "Something I Can Never Have" is perfect.
Deftones have a vibe like no other. Goosebump moments. One of the few bands that bring tears to my eyes. I dont know why but they touch something dark and sad in the depths of my soul and they have and are getting me through some really hard times. They fill me up and the sounds soak into my body in some bizzare comforting way.
976 EVIL HOLYFUCKINGSHIT I HAVNT HEARD A 976/EVIL REFERENCE SINCE MY SENIOR YEAR OF HIGHSCHOOL WAY BACK IN 2001-2002 MY BESTFRIEND AND I RENTED THE MOVIE FROM EITHER HASTINGS OR BLOCKBUSTER OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK I MISS THOSE TIMES FOR SURE
Rawhoney NewOrleans AGREED! With they way Jamel likes songs with meaningful lyrics and figuring things out, he would love Right In Two. “Angels on the sideline. Puzzled and amused. Why did Father give these humans free will? Now they’re all confused”
@@jambsaw7221 actually Pet is a song on Thirteenth Step. The song that is being suggested here is 'Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rythem of the War Drums' from eMotive. Next time you want to correct someone, make sure you're actually right.

Great song! I've become addicted to your channel, man! If you want a change of pace and love great guitar playing, check out The Reverend Horton Heat - The Devil's Chasing Me. The Live on KEXP video is pretty great. I know you will love it. It's much different than anything you have reacted to so far.
One of my favorite RU-vid guy react to one of my top 3 favorite song ever. Def Tones is such a special band. Keep up the great work man! I know its very hiphop but i would request Beastie Boys Sure Shot!!!!!
The lyric is not "curious" it is "glorious". Maynard was so masterful in his lyrics. You decide what the song is about. What do you get out of it? The answer can be wide ranging with intent.
2000, 19rys old, driving in the middle of a 74 degree summer night, joint of some dank ass weed. I listened to White Pony and Mer De Noms more than anything the entire summer of 2000. This song and Knife Party bring back huge memories.
This has got to be, hands-down, the BEST fucking reaction I've ever seen to any song. EVER. "....." ::pauses song, takes off headphones:: "THEY ARE HAVING SEX IN THE CAR?!" ::walks away:: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit: IT GOT EVEN BETTER WITH THE LOOKS ON YOUR FACE!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Or goes to a concert and puts down the headphones and starts listening to music its 2020. Bitch ass. Korn blind woodstock. Priceless or ozzfest. Hes probably never been to a concert bitchass jameel.
Old school Tool and Rush fan here. After this video and the respectful tribute you did for Neil Peart I'm sold and subscribed man. Thank for making great stuff. Please do a reaction to Either Creepy Green Light by Type O Negative (tri state area doom metal heroes who's singer passed years back. A lot of viewers might not of heard of them ) or Love Is Not Enough by Nine Inch Nails , I think you'll really dig either one. Take care
Thats the beauty of MUSIC AND LYRICS IS THEY ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO INTERPRETATION BEAUTY IS ALWAYS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER WHAT SOMETHING MEANS TO YOU IS YES YOU ARE RIGHT NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PERCEPTION IS OF THIS SONG
While it may be fun, please dont take the lyrics as advice on how to spice up your love life.. unless you rented a closed track.. Then do that shit all day, everyday and twice on Sunday cuz holy f*ck is it fun as all hell.. but nah, its deadly dangerous..
One of the most epic songs ever done, with two of arguably the best frontmen in the last 30yrs, if ever in hard rock/metal... and YES!! So glad you caught what this song is about lol, great songwriting and vibes, like I said EPIC
