Time for a more 'Street' look for the old Scrambler, and nothing better than the new 'Tracker' exhaust system from TEC Bike Parts. LINK;- shop.tecbikeparts.com/product...
My matte blue scram came with the arrow and i thought nothing could touch the sound of that running baffle out until i heard this one. Amazing system! Also, I loved the tip about working in the exhaust with the rubber handle screwdriver. I feel inspired to get out in the garage and dent things now.
DireWolf28 If you have a Scrambler mate and you really want this exhaust, but you have an Arrow, then I guarantee you could switch across to the TEC Tracker and make a profit, as the TEC is £199 and you will guarantee to get at lesat £500 second hand for your high level Arrow, and it will work on your exisiting fuel map - get stuck in mate, you know you want to !
I thought I wanted one when I seen Mr. Cactus install one on his bonnie.. This just sealed it. My thruxton will be getting this exhaust THIS winter. No iffs and or buts about it. The giggles Penny made when the baffle came out was the response I want from my bike. ;-) Thanks again for another stellar video!
Jamie VanDalen Cheers Jamie, you know that your Thruxton will sound a little different with the different firing order.... it will sounds the same as JC's bike...
Awesome guide Delboy 👍. These pipes made by Scrambler come to life and after I did the ECU remap it's a whole new bike. The throttle response, power curve and overall handling (due to pipe weight positioned lower) is vastly improved. Wish I'd done it years ago. My only feedback is on the technique to crease in the pipe for clearance of the rear brake master cylinder. I started hammering on a rubber screwdriver handle, but all this did was F@#$up my tools, so I switched to a cut down wooden broom handle and that worked perfectly. I also wrapped the silencer in towels and occy strapped it to the workmate which helped a lot.
Brilliant video, very informative and the first time I have actually thought that low slung pipes look and sound better on the Scrambler than the high pipes. And the sound once you pulled the baffle... WOW! Got yourself a new sub - from little ol' South Africa.
mildly inked Hi buddy, good to have you aboard, and glad you enjoyed the video, yeah, i think they got the sound just right on the TEC pipe aye?.. take care and ride safe ma broer.. Del.
The final walkround was just glorious mate and pulling the cork was a must ..Great mod must have more faith in your future changes as they always turn out brilliant ...you have a great imagination and conviction and your bikes are a credit to you sir!
springy 2112 Ayup Springy... we've learned to live with the doubt and let the results speak for themselves! In the end, most of biking, certainly custom biking, is a matter of taste and personal preference, ain't it??
Chatting to a guy down the cafe today and he mentioned he was interested in the Triumph Scrambler. So I had no hesitation in recommending your channel. He`s fairly new to bikes and is looking for tips on maintenance so its perfect for him. I think you might have (yet another) fan. Love the new pipe. Looks like it was meant for the bike.
Brilliant dell, must admit to having my doubts about changing the high level set up but im now converted to this new low level set up! Great work expertly done by the great man that is dels garage. Well done bud sounds the nuts too. All the best mark.
UOO303T Blimey Mark, thanks so much for that... I was honestly sceptical myself about going low level as the high level pipes define the Scrambler, but no bothered anymore with all that misty eyed sentiment, it sounds dirty and I love it!
Great vid Del, I'm always surprised at what you change up - I've witnessed many of the admiring looks and comments you got on work on the exhaust you've just taken off.
Just pull the mufflers altogether like I did on my purchased new 1976 T140V Triumph Bonneville 750. The stock headers are long enough to run without pipes. Never burnt valves, rings or blew up. I Street cafe raced on the back roads of long Island (Think The Isle of Mann TT) and won every race for 10 consecutive years. Pulling the mufflers off , taking the seat cushion out and installing drag bars were the only mods. She is sitting patiently outside around 20 feet from me as I type this. -Peter
OMG, that is mint, Del with his mutant torque wrench arm strikes again, I love the scrambler and that exhaust looks great, sounds a real beast, good job D&P.
I absolutely love the look of the tracker exhaust on your bike! I agree with penny when she said "one of those please". It makes me want to trade my Z1000 for a scrambler! I think it's super cool that you both have different bikes built off the same platform. It worked out in this instance having the hardware each other needed for a custom look. It's looking better each time I see it! Keep up the good work mate!
DelBoy Thank you! I really appreciate your prompt response. I will go forward with this project! No hoping that Tec USA has the Tracker Exhaust in hand! I will let you know once it is all Installed and Finished. Thanks again and get better!! God Bless!
Eduardo you are most welcome, im glad i could help, and im sure you'll be able to get hold of a Tracker over there. id love to see a picture or two once it's installed and looking awesome.. Thank you for your kind wishes too, im on the mend and improving all the time. take care and enjoy your week.. Del.
Lee Allen Thanks Lee... seems to have sparked some fun, which is what biking should all be about...' we' are getting a bit dull in the biking world these days, so we thought we would give it a kick up the ass lol !
Sounds Fantastic Del, its me Adrian ...the Black and Gold Bonneville with the twin TEC- exhaust. TEC exhaust are the cheapest best quality , sounding exhaust out there. Love revving my bike in the middle of traffic... they all move out of the way. Kidding aside, great video again and thanks gor sharing. Regards to Penny. 😊😊😊
adrian valle Hi Adrain, of course we remember you mate, and what a beautiful bike you have... I remember when you let me rev it myself, it's just addictive! These bikes are just made for rev bombing traffic lol ... need to find a multi-storey car park and see how many alarms we can set off !! Ride safe and catch you soon!
Already have a Mass-Moto Mohave on my scrambler, which sounds awesome too but cost more than twice as much! Plus I had to build a custom bracket to stop the heat burning my leg :D
I've been looking at exhausts and haven't been completely sold on one until now. I like dominators but they were a bit out of my price range. These however have both the quality, value, and the sound I'm looking for. Thanks for the video, cheers!
thickheart28 Seriously mate, I know what you mean, it appears that all exhausts are expensive these days and I wondered for a long time why the TEC pipes were always so much cheaper, but having got to know George Milburn, who owns the company, I now understand why... he supplies the same product in quality and fit, as you would pay £700 to Triumph for, but he's just an honest, hard working engineer who only runs his company to feed his family ... if you really love one, then get stuck in QUICK cos he never keeps massive stock so they can go in to back order if there's an influx - get in whilst you can... and rest assured of the quality, they are identical to Arrow pipes, just a third of the price!
That is one sexy looking exhaust, and the sound well never in a month of sundays was i expecting that, its beautiful, and thanks for the tip with the screwdriver to recess the the can
Gaz doitall HI Gaz, the trick with the screwdriver handle and hammer comes from trying to fit universal headers on V8 American stuff when they had cast iron manifolds, there's always an engine mount or steering box in the way... and they never fit perfectly first time! And yeah, what a sound eh??!
Hey man, I'm in a hurry so I've skipped trough the vid but subscribed so I'll come back to your channel when I've got some time, cause your way of documenting and the easy steady professional pace of explaining what you're doing is great! Oh, and that sound......bro!
+MrSjeupie Thanks buddy, you are very kind... am glad the videos can inspire you.... I know what you mean about being busy, drop in any time and chuck us a question if you need to, always happy to help!
when wiring the sensor its better to solder than crimp the loom will burn out before the solder melts crimped joints even with heat shrink will corrode as i have fixed many a bike and car with crimped joints and none with soldered joints, just thought you should know over 35 years of experience would just hate to see you break down in a couple of years such a lovely bike you have and you are doing a very good job i have subscribed to your channel
As soon as you yanked that baffle out, I felt the money jump out of my wallet. Exhaust will be here this coming Tuesday. Excited to tackle this install. Glad I have this video as a guide. Thanks Delboy!
Glad you made the choice Matt, you won't regret it, they sound even better in the flesh... Good luck with the install, and enjoy setting car alarms off..! Cheers, Del.
Moonfleet41 so I finally got around to fitting the exhaust this past weekend. Your vid made it so much easier. Had to rig the rear foot peg mount though. The black foot pegs were out of stock. The pipe sounds amazing!! My bike had the d&d race kit on it when I purchased it and that pales in comparison to the TEC. I can’t wait to get it mapped so I can rip around without the baffle and hear that growl.
@@mattmatiks Great to hear that Matt, good choice, and you'll be out riding round multi storey car parks once you hear it open..lol... Enjoy mate, and ride safe.. Del.
Whilst watching you having to make all these mods and "faffing" about, I wondered to myself if I could ever want something enough to go through the effort you did. Especially with me being an idiot and most likely messing it all up. ...but then I heard it. What an almighty sound. Brilliant video, as always.
Loving the new look, looks far better in mine opinion. Great video too, I love your hands on vids where you go into detail, I'll be consulting your bandit rear brake caliper overhaul vid soon. Nice and detailed so should do it no bother, thanks Del and Penny.
Great video as always thank you. I ordered mine and have major oerformance mods to undertake so after looking at internal baffle it's a little too restrictive after reviewing exhaust performance calculations so I have removed internal perforated tube and packing and installed 2" perforated tube. I also opened up the outlet to 2" all the way through and hope to have exhaust mounted on bike next week after new wide band oxygen sensor bung is weld on secondary exhaust tube for power Commander. Can't wait to hear the exhaust note....
I installed my 2 into 1 Tracker which I modified with increasing the perforated baffle tube to 51mm on my Bonneville T100 and it sounds great however for me on long trips will wear me down due to the exhaust drone so I installed a stainless mesh held in by the circlip and it just reduces the drone slightly without restricting flow to much so are pleased with results
Hi Guys been following your channel for while now and just wanted to say thanks for sharing so many cool video's ;-) I am looking to a return to motorcycling again after a 10 year plus break. Think i have finally got over the sports bike thing and you are cementing the Scrambler at the top of my list with all these video's Del LOl superb work keep em' coming :-)
+Paul Trew Hi Paul, thank you so much for your kind words, and so glad you enjoy the videos... how cool you are returning to bikes... now that I have the Scrambler, I can tell you it's a great bike, feels a little more aggressive than the SE I had before, and as you've been used to sports bikes, you will probably love it - as you will see from the videos, since I've had it, we 've done a few mods and also slammed it lol - gasp I hear some say lol - but the great thing is you can make them whatever you want them to be! Always feel free to give us a shout if you need a tip or two... enjoy your bike shopping, ride safe, Penny!
Thanks Penny /Del ;-) i test rode the Bonny,Thruxton and scrambler and was totally Blown away by the scramblers character. i love that 270 deg crank and sound it certainly put a smile on my face.. Love the mods you have done to yours them wheels Oh Man !!!! Gorgeous and what a bargain that Pipe is. Driving the Mrs nuts with all this so hopefully she will Cave in soon LOL. keep up the Great work cheers Paul
+Paul Trew Ha ha, glad you had fun Paul, they are addictive, when we are out, I often catch Penny rev bombing cars and pedestrians... they are a hoot to ride.. !! get stuck in mate, you know its the right thing to do...
Love the exhaust Del, very reasonable cost for such a great bit of kit, Has defiantly tossed my future Bonneville exhaust plans in the air. Very useful vlog. Thanks Del Boogietj
Tony Jeffery HI Tony, selling the whole system complete... it took about 3 days to modify the front half of the system and fabricate the dual sized curved link pipes, it's a ready to fit bolt on system... and I've put it all on Ebay... here's a link: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181810502161?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 A pair of D&D cans which would be the same shape and sound are this price by themselves... it's open to an offer!
Well hearing that wonderful roar of an exhaust makes me want to trade my iron immediately!!! My wife will kill me! Great stuff as always thanks! Matt from Virginia USA
rogue brawler My word, that is an achievement! The sounds of a Harley motor is iconic throughout the world and for any Harley owner to appreciate something different is an achievement in itself ... and with Harley residuals so high at the moment and the waiting list for bikes like the Iron, you'd probably get enough for yours to get a new Scrambler!
motoedd Sure thing mate, I think it's beyond more tna Penny liking it, I think she's gonna nick it from me and have it for her own !!!!!! Maybe time to buy myself another bike......
+wetnoodl Ha ha, it is a sexy noise aye..just awesome of the roll off the throttle in a tunnel or multi story car park... thanks for wathcing buddy, take care. Del.
