I remember color blindness being mentioned in one of the early cassette tapes. I wondered if that would ever pop up in the gameplay... I guess this is what they were setting up?

The fact that this is only 30% done and still looks pretty good makes me mad at what Konami robbed from us

I love how you can tell that venom really relates to Eli at the end because he himself is just a clone of another sort trapped by fate. They are the same.

Amazes me that Konami wouldn't let Kojima finish this but they'll gladly work some elbow grease into the shit show that was Metal Gear Survive.

Man, if the 30% finished cutscenes look THIS good. I wonder what the final product would’ve been.

Even at 30% complete the camera work makes it all feel so real and grounded. Kojimas plots are contrived but he definitely can tell a story with just his camera work.

you know what would of been maybe a cool mission though a sad one, an epilogue where its MG1 but in the perspective of Venom, but the player has no idea what is going on and likely getting angry that something/someone is going around killing your men and destroying your expensive equipment. Finally after a while you track down the perpetuator turning out to be Solid Snake who beats you and destroys the metal gear and Outer Heaven. The quarantine mission having to kill your own men was hard enough imagine witnessing everything you spent time and effort being slowly destroyed.

Fun fact: during these 18 minutes, big boss talks more and more emotional than the rest of a game

Would have been so great to have all the soldiers you recruited fight alongside you. Show the player what he achieved. Just like in Shadow of Mordor when you fight your nemesis in the final assault.

Okay obviously this beats the hell out of the Truth ending, Mirror scene and final mission... which was literally just the prologue, goddamnit Konami.

Raiden could have taken care of that tin can of a robot in a minute.

This 30% complete cutscene worth more than the whole "Metal Gear: Survive" thing

this would’ve been the best mission in the game if it was finalised

All these years later, I come here and still cannot understand why they cut this from the game. May not have been needed for the ending but extremely vital for the plot of this game and the overall MGS story

As much as I hate Eli, I really do feel bad for him. The poor little bastard litterally *never* knew anything but the pain of war. That would fuck anybody up. It's even more heart-wrenching that Konami didn't let Hideo Kojima finish the game.

This would have been a perfect ending for the game along with the fight with Solid Snake in Outer Heaven

Well, it only took me 6 years to find the ending of MGSV. At least I can get some closure now.

I really wish this was the real Big Boss and not his phantom, starting the game off with him saying he doesn’t care about David or Eli, then having this scene where he’s genuinely upset at the thought of having killed his son would’ve created an awesome extra layer to the relationship between Big Boss and Liquid Snake, a relationship that is extremely important for the rest of the series.

It’s kinda sad to think that Eli wanted to kill big boss but instead that was venom snake

the story of Metal Gear Solid is one of the best storylines I have ever encountered in a game. Truly amazing stuff.

Now imagine if they finished the game off with David.

Imagine this mission like an hour long It feels and like snake eater as we get a lot of the nostalgia fuckery from mgs4 that would be awesome

Why we still watching, just to suffer. I’ll never forgive konami for stopping hideo kojima finishing this game. Every now and then I get videos about this last mission in my recommend in my youtube. And everytime I do watch them and after each time I watch them I get phantoms pains because this game could have been so much more than what it is, even better.

It seems like this was being set up as the true final mission, not all that crap of just rewatching the 45 hospital scene again.

I can honestly say that this might have been my favorite game of all time if this wasn’t so jarring-ly missing

everyone talking about the virtuous mission being remade using MGSV but no one is thinking of stepping in to finishing this episode... RIP

Imagine what that game could've been.. not only it was missing that last chapter, but if you notice there weren't many cutscenes and cinematics in the game, instead they put the bulk of the storyline on cassette tapes.. All of the previous MGS games had long and involved cinematic scenes.. Not this one tho.. there were a couple but not on MGS4 or MGS3 level.

I want to see how people would've reacted to THIS ending if it was fully completed and implemented. Also that ending shot of the New York skyline... Weird how the presence of two buildings can be harrowing.

I'm surprised how not many people are talking about the fact that this whole level is just Shadow Moses in miniature! Right down Eli's strategy: Hold the world hostage on an island fortress, with a nuclear-armed Metal Gear (Shaped like Rex), in exchange for Big Boss's body. We even have Infected XOF Scouts substituting as Liquid's Genome Army! Now, I don't claim to know exactly what Hideo Kojima was thinking, but in terms of game design: this would probably play like a bigger, louder, faster version of "The End" boss fight from MGS3. We might be here awhile... Let's review the story of this chapter: We have three armies: (Diamond Dogs, Cipher, and Eli's infected XOF scouts) all fighting each other from every angle imaginable, with booby-traps and ambushes strewn everywhere. Snake has to fight his way around XOF, Parasite troops, and child soldiers (which he also has to rescue), while dodging traps, destroying enemy helicopters, trucks and tanks, AND a fully-piloted Metal Gear! There's no way the player could do this alone, so he'd would have to summon the full might of DD. Calling air-strikes, reinforcements, supply drops, Huey's Battle-Gear, etc. throwing every single resource the player has developed over the entire game! Ocelot really had a good point at 8:11. It's as if Eli and Snake really are fighting THE WHOLE WORLD. And we haven't even talked about Sahelanthropus. Which will be faster, meaner, and more powerful. Using its whole arsenal to dispatch troops and vehicles quickly and efficiently. Like it's metallic archaea from this concept art at 8:48. There seems to be an important emphasis on that weapon in particular because it could instantly render all vehicles on the map totally useless (Except Huey's Battle-Gear tank)! The only way to defeat Metal Gear in this iteration would be to injure or tranquilize Mantis FIRST at 8:58. Then you grind away at Metal Gear's armor with rockets and explosives, maybe even running Eli through some of his own traps. So Eli will be running and jumping all over the island, ambushing Snake at every turn. Rescuing the Child Soldiers would help guide the player around the map to explore the tiny island, so they can salvage weapons and ammo. Eventually, the epic boss fight has to conclude with Snake defeating Metal Gear near a beach. Snake then has to fight his way toward the wreckage 9:02, to find Eli- who was thrown from blast 9:03. When Snake finally reaches the wreckage, we get the final cutscene at 9:19. End, Roll Credits. Story / Planning / Game Design by Hideo Kojima

My blood boils at the thought of never being able to see this finished like it should have been.

As good a game TPP was it would have been an infinitely better game if they just added a few more things like more missions indoors and more use of the open world and also included the cut scene and the last fight in the game.

Late but this is the 2ed time a Kojima game was missing its third act/epilog ( that I know of) first time was snatcher it took years before the third act came out if I heard the history right.

i love how Eli and the Boys are based on Lord of the Flies, my fave book. The boy Eli kills is Ralph, the main character of said book who was gonna be beheaded by the savage boys. Even the mission is known as Kingdom of the Flies

Irony here the REAL Big Boss never interacted with Eli aka Liquid Snake, Venom was just the double medic brainwashed to think like Big Boss our Avatar who Solid Snake kills in the first Metal Gear game on the MSX console.

Frome the second trailer that dropped. Or i think it was the sec. Seeing snake walk thrue dead burned bodies, things we didnt get the chance to see and play, so i guess it would been ep 51. And seeing snake look upp and yell must been the part when he shot eli.

Konami could have taken the time to actually finish this scene, added some additional content and released it as free or premium DLC. Instead they release Metal Gear Survival. Think about that.
