I said "most people", especially those watching reviews on YT, can afford to save a little longer before purchasing and my belief is that you should given the importance of the item. My laptop hasn't been able to stand up on its own for 2 years and my phone has been cracked for more than a year. They both still "work" so I'm waiting until I can afford something nice.

+ProgamerEU The white point is a hardware thing. External monitors often have several color temps/white points to choose from (though they'll have the best color gamut and contrast at their native white points). Laptops don't-- it would require modulation of the backlights, and can't be altered with calibration. You can compensate for it however, so colors are accurate, even if the whites are a little different from ideal. So far, I'm getting 4 hours when editing and then rendering 1080p high bitrate video.

What laptop does have the best screen for sRGB photo editing in your opinion and how much less perfect is it compared to a mid range external IPS monitor? would you even notice the difference in the final print (from a calibrated printer of course)? I was looking at a lot of laptops and ultimately came to either the macbook pro retina or the dell xps 15 I know these are a lot of questions but your answers would really help me out a TON! +Michael G Yes! Please review the Samsung ATIV 9 Pro! I prefer Samsung to Dell because of reliability and build quality. (There are numerous complaints about quality issues and BSODs at the notebookreview Dell XPS 15 9550 thread.) My local Best Buy store has the Samsung ATIV 9 Pro in stock right now. Unfortunately only a 8GB RAM 256 GB SSD version is currently available. (I want 16GB RAM.)

Yeah I'm just hoping it has decent speakers. I like my 2012 Retina Pro 15 for its front facing speakers. But it only has 2 USB ports which just isn't enough and who knows when Apple will actually redesign it physically instead of just internally.

+Hubert Heller The same can be said for Samsung and they even deny any responsibility of the problem. Just search windows 8 update on the same forum you quoted to see problems people had with the chronos and other series laptops. In short, I wouldn't recommend a Samsung laptop to my worst enemy.

If you can afford the pro 4 or surface book, they are nice. The yoga 900 is an amazing deal for what you get though.

Ronald's World and Opinions I wouldn't count on that. I personally think the surface products are better for artists (that would use the pen) and students who would use it for note taking. to me the surface is worth it just for the note taking itself, not to mention it is a full fledged windows 10 computer in an insane portable small but not too small form factor. however if somebody was actually gonna want the bigger screen and more horsepower for certain task the dell looks amazing

b brady since I do batch processing and video editing myself, the Dell is better. Hey if I was in college still, the surface would be the one to use for that pen feature. But again, can't have everything I guess.

Switches between integrated graphics (built into cpu chip) and discreet graphics (separate graphics card) as needed. Integrated are less powerful, but take less energy.

+Stephanie R Surface Book can be your choice, if you are use to write traditionally with pen and paper, and you want that feeling every time you write, you need the features of Surface Book with OneNote - you'll also need the feature in which you can efficiently proofread your works as a writer and you can change the screen orientation every time you write(you know that it is difficult to write and review stuffs on a landscape orientation). plus it is much easier to post process photos using a pen with adobe. Gaming will be fine on SurfaceBook.

I agree but i have a feeling it would make the laptop itself a bit wider and tad bit heavier. I think Dell really wanted to shave off as much width and weight as possible.
