@@vampiric4real 1. It is a TOS Alternate universe project so thank you! 2. Its not a TNG Klingon, its a ridged head Klingon. After the augment virus affected several colonies to make smooth head Klingons, they were integrated back into the ridged head population. There are both types of Klingons in the TOS era, we just only saw smooth heads. :D

I wouldn't mind an update in the style of Discovery's TOS visuals. the DSC 1701 was sexxxxxxxxxxxxxy. that ship and bridge, with the uniforms of Beyond (with the raised collar, without the undershirt).... that'd be a perfect blend towards the late TMP style with the white scheme and the dark uniforms of the refit.

@@bcn1gh7h4wk I love the Discovery Enterprise bridge as well. It actually looks like a starship, unlike the Apple store from the Kelvin Timeline. Definitely a high point of the series. Discovery is not perfect, but it's not as bad of a show as some say it is. I can't wait for Strange New Worlds. The problem was setting seasons 1 and 2 in the 23rd century. That time period is like sacred ground for the old Trekkies. Should have started in the late 24th or early 25th and _then_ jump to the 32nd century.

I’ve been watching Star Trek since since it’s debut on NBC in 1966. My all time favourite series. There’s a great hunger out there for the feel of the original series. The crap coming out of Hollywood just doesn’t make it. I just loved the fan series Star Trek continues. One thing that made it “feel” like the original series was including the original series music from numerous episodes. It was made it familiar and felt like home. Great job keep up the good work. There are plenty of "fan films" now that have professional quality visuals, acting and production values so that saying the "quality was good for a fan production" is really a back handed complement. Now that pro-equipment has become available to pretty much anyone, there is no reason why independent filmmakers can't look as good has studio productions.
@remaincalm2
@remaincalm2 4 года назад
@@NelsonStJames True, but it still takes a high level of skill to use the equipment and software properly and creatively. There's a massive learning curve to video production... Or a 3 year degree course for those who prefer that route of entry. But I know what you mean in that those who have the skills are able to create a production that matches studios without having to spend millions on equipment, sets, and big crews.

@dashfatbastard
@dashfatbastard 4 года назад
Well done! Splendid new music, superior visual FX, attention to visual continuity, and best, it shows us a pocket of Trek history we have not seen before. By showing us life on the Excalibur its repair/refit after the M5 incident and allowing for its refit, it's pocketed in the years after TOS Season Three and TMP. By doing that, you can use the Anovos 'ST: Beyond' updated unforms and not have the canon police at your door. I know you're covering your bets by putting this in it's own timeline, which is the smart move, but I think you guys made all the right choices. My god, I love how the TOS design aesthetic looks in HD! Beautiful...and your lighting absolutely fits in with the styles used in TOS. Nice acting here...a bit uneven, but given the guidelines, the best performances are VERY good indeed. Am I detecting some folks trained in stage combat? I particularly enjoyed the brawl with the Klingons...a smaller well trained opponent can put down a mere thug with brawler skills. The slo-mo was a legit choice, too...why flash through a nicely choreographed series of moves if you can't even savor them? In any case, congratulations! Well done!

Being that she was on a command level quarters area, why did it take so long for security to show up? They should have been there within seconds of the intruder alert message!

I've been a Trek fan since the early 70s. I started watching TOS in syndicated reruns when I was 10 years old. I thought I knew pretty much everything Trek, but I only recently discovered these fan films. I am enjoying the Avalon Universe fan films. Great job. The acting is way above what I would expect from any fan film. The sets are darn close to the real deal, and the cinematography is great. Thank you for making these films and putting them out there. IMO there can never be enough Star Trek. If I had my way there would be a new feature film and TV series every week! 🤣

Love the use of enhanced TOS displays and controls - exactly how I imagine it would have to be (because there's no way Sulu is controlling the whole ship with just 24 buttons!)

Very pleased to see Lt Commander Jamie Archer. Love to Inject her warpcore with antimatter. But on a more serious note, this is wonderful guys and girls. We fans really appreciate the hard work, time and money you've poured into this. Thank you.

Pretty good. Much better than most fan films ,better acted, character development and good production values. I like how they updated the displays to have floating holoscreens. A good updating of TOS and keeping to the spirit of TOS

Thanks! i did all thr space VFX although this is not the phase 2 version...were custom visually updating the 1960s connie in our own way (as this is a new universe). Episode 1 had all the new glows...episode 2 had the phaser ball turrets and main torprdo launcher...episode 3 will have more! :D

Great Trek film. The CGI USS Excalibur looked awesome. I especially liked the new photon torpedo launchers on the neck of the ship. The sets were fantastic and another awesome job by Commander Cockings. The acting was fine, hey it was fans who love Star Trek doing the acting. They're not professionals but their dedication makes up for lack of experience. Is there a reason the Captain seemed to be acting like he took too much cold medicine. He was making errors setting the course and no one on the ship noticed not even the ship's doctor.
