I agree. It is very sad indeed that they broke up, gave up on it and that they are through. Hopefully, some deep introspective, thought and reflection will occur with them both now. Both need to move forward in their own lives. Reconciliation is always a possibility, if they seriously still love one another. Time will tell, their choice.

I agreed earlier on with you. Sadly, that still didn't work out for them being engaged and doing the long-distance thing, all very hard to do. In hind-sight, perhaps holding off on a proposal would be better, as did Adam Gottschalk and his girlfriend Raven. Hopefully, the latter couple got to know and love one another and are now more ready for engagement. We'll see though. Wishing all the best to Derek and Taylor and their futures without one another. It was a great and beautiful proposal last year and still is, albeit they broke up a month or so ago, very sad to say. Perhaps he needed to hold off as did Adam Gottschalk. All the best to Derek and Taylor and their future lives without one another now. All the best for both Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk, now the strongest couple from BIP-4. Wishing for them both to become engaged now after a year together.

Long-distance may have strained their engagement with complications associated with long-distance relationships. May both of them learn and heal from their broken engagement. IMHO, Taylor should have considered moving to be nearer to Derek, especially since he apparently bought a house or condo. unless my info. and research were flawed and erroneous. I too, believe that this was a true, romantic proposal done, one of the better ones for sure. Both seemed to be really in love. However, it appears that long distance squelched and ruined their engagement and relationship sad to say.

Dawn Gēmu I didn't get why people hated her so much. Being a counselor she understands that the best way to deal with an issue is to communicate. She did the when when you do this (or this happens) I feel. Which is the way people are told is the best way to communicate. Corrine's only come back to that was "you're a b". Honestly Taylor should have given up after the first conversation proved to be uneventful. She was right about the emotional intelligence though and I genuinely liked her and didn't understand why people didn't.

They broke up almost a year ago. He was more laid back and she was very type-A. I think their personalities clashed too much. She seemed a little controlling when they were on BIP, like she was trying to “fix” him.

I'm well aware of the fact of the duration of filming but I also know that being on The bachelor or BIP is different from the normal dating convention so of course the course of their relationship would be different/ magnified as they spend so much time together. Yes it doesn't affect me personally but I'm just happy for them so why shouldn't I support their relationship and at such a great time for both of them? I'm a fan of this 'silly' tv show because it's different from watching the norm happen and yes I agree to the implication that they don't always last long but for the most part at least they do find love on this show which is the goal achieved even if some did get on the show to be on tv that's on them, as it is with other cast members; they'd be on the show out of their own adult decision and know to face the consequences. Right now I'm supporting Taylor & Derek because who doesn't love love?

hey, if this is what you get emotionally involved with, enjoy. personally, i consider this to be a comedy show (the franchise, broadly speaking), not infrequently, dark comedy. to each their own. i guess i can't relate to getting emotionally involved with other people's relationships, more so those of strangers. and getting emotionally involved with generally fake tv relationships seems even more preposterous. but again, to each their own. enjoy.

It was Derek and Taylor's moment nearly a year ago with a great, heartfelt proposal. Sadly, their engagement failed and ended. One of them should have moved to be nearer to the other, in retrospect, IMHO. Hopefully, both Taylor and Derek heal from broken engagement and past relationship. It takes two to make a relationship work, as a cohesive team. All the best to them both. Same also for Bryan and Rachel, hopefully closer to a real wedding, etc.
