I am so glad my two kids are 2 years apart. They are actually 2 and a half years. They are now 9 and 7. They are the best of friends. Derik is right. It is sad at first. I felt so sad to miss things with my oldest. I mean things like my husband would take my oldest to the park and I would stay home with new baby. But that wears off fast! They will have that sibling for the rest of their lives.

I grew up in fear and abuse. Watching y’all is a living example of how to do it right. Your family is a treasure and an example to follow. Everyone sees the love you have.

Don't rush baby number 2, let baby number 1 get a little farther out of the way. I say 2 and a half to 3 years apart is perfect. At least wait until baby 1 is potty trained, you don't want 2 babies in diapers. My children are almost 3 years apart and when my youngest was born my oldest was so proud to help and she was proud she was potty trained and the baby wasn't because it made her feel special to be mommy's big girl.

All five of my children were born between 16 months and 2 years apart. I loved it and they always had a best friend to play with, I also enjoyed having them all young and now I'm a young Grandmother and love every minute. Ultimately, you know what you can handle and what You feel spiritually about the spacing of your children.

Hawaii is one of the beautiful places to live. I was stationed there for two years and we called the rain “Liquid Sunshine!” Whenever it rain we continued with what we were doing because we knew the sun was going to come back out shortly.

I live in Kenya. We have power outages often. Cold showers are our best friends. We're have a big plastic pan and it becomes a mini pool for the kids, in the shower.

Don’t sweat it! My first child was a terror when he was a baby. I was so scared to have another but honestly, it was one of the best things for us. We never thought we would be ready but it all just worked out perfectly. My boys are two years apart. Go for it! God‘s got this!

Happy Birthday, Derik! It was nice to see you with your friends in Hawaii and all of the kids together. I watched your video talking about your accident...interestingly enough, we live right now in Apple Valley, UT, but lived for years in Leeds.

Also…. You can ask all the tenants to chip in to buy a generator… so when the electricity goes out your whole unit your whole unit could have electricity….. I think it's about 5to $6000 divide that by all the tenants and everybody will pay close to $800 each… and if you're planning on staying for a long time it might be worth it.

I’m guessing Derick is 27. Is that close? My daughters were 5 years apart and it worked out great. We told our oldest that the baby was hers too. She loved helping out. Whatever happens things will work out, even if you have a hard newborn period. Those times don’t last forever and believe it or not you will have very fond memories of those times.

I'm the eldest of three, and my mum had my baby sister when I was 3 and a half. Yeah, it was pretty tough losing most of my parents' attention, but I was so happy to have a new friend to play with and I loved the idea of being the older and responsible one. That was my experience, but whenever you guys are ready it would be so sweet for Jack to have a sibling!💕

I personally think after having 4yrs between my first and second child and 2yrs between number 2 & 3 the 4 hrs was much better. Having them farther apart gave me more time with that one child and they were past the baby stage. I felt like neither one of the younger ones got the quality time my first one did.

What a beautiful boy! I remember when he was having a hard time. Now I see he’s flourishing! Love it! What a beautiful fun family❤️

I had all of those same worries when my husband and I went from one child to two. I look back on that now and I know that it's such a real and vivid worry, but it's not really one that is the reality. You find out almost immediately that you both will have good interaction with both kids. The newborn and the toddler. It truly works out in that you both will help with both and it will be okay. Now we have 3 children and they are all teens now. They are buddies and they have had each other to play with and get into trouble with their entire lives. I think that giving them a sibling was the best thing we could have done for them. The adjustment from one to two kids is huge, but it does eventually feel normal and it works. I'm definitely not saying you should be ready or even that you have to have more than one kid. That is totally a decision each couple has to decide for themselves. I just want to encourage you that you don't have to fear those changes. They do work themselves out.
