Being a hairstylist of about like a few years, I can share with you you, that you're not intended to use harsh shampoo on your hair. I've observed hairlines of many individuals, and I noticed that people who were using strong shampoos usually had weak hair line. So I advise only to use mild shampoo only. I personally use and advise to use litttleextra cocconioon shampoo only. Also, do warm oil massage two times a week as it boosts circulation and promotes hair.

Shit dude!! Your beard looks great!! I've been dying mine to help me out! I just recently lost my mustache, but i have stubble growing again although it's lacking pigment. Im hoping it's like my beard and the pigment comes back, eventually. I do believe that stress is a trigger. It doesn't happen at that moment, but a few months afterwards. I think we have more pressure on us than we think and our bodies are telling us this. Everyone's stressors are different, so lets listen to our beards dudes!!!!

Will you do an episode on hyperhydrosis please? I got it real bad (armpits) when I hit puberty at 14 and had many awkward teenage years since I didn’t know what it was and the family GP blew me off. Then an article in cosmo clued me in on what it was in my 20s. I saw a dermatology who had it too and he was so helpful in supporting me. I’ve been on glycopyrolate for years and it works perfect!

Hey i don't wanna brag but I reversed and cured my sos hydorsis, he was growing crystals on his pits . We bought apple cider vinegar with the mother and sprayed it on his armpits , then ona. Different day went with a lighty moist hydrogen peroxide pad . The liquids had to stay long and in a week it was gone , we bought a good Deo against hydrosis and used it for 4 months and after he could use normal deos again (wouldn't recommend heavy metals)

I'm a 32 yrs old female, the doctor talked about androgenetic alopecia, he finded some miniaturized hair, I'm losing hair on the vertix only (in the rear of the head) and a bit above the ears, not on the frontal, I don't understand which is my pattern. I didn't do any exam to investigate on hormones but I have a lack of iron and vitamin D. I don't have irsutism or policistic ovary, just an acne-prone skin. I tried with minoxidil, I had a reasonable improvement but I'm not able to take ahead this therapy for the rest of my life so I lost all the progressions. I'm about to try some pills to balance the hormones in the fertile female. It's absurd the we don't have a cure to this. Minoxidil don't always work and also it's temporary.

Just saw a dermatologist today for chronic dermatitis on the face. He gave me a whole scalp care regimen. I don’t have dandruff per se but deal with an oily scalp, something like “cradle cap.” I *never* connected this to excessive shedding! How often should I be washing my hair?

Hello, Dr. Sugar, I was diagnosed about 15 years ago w Angiogenic Alopecia . I'm still looking for that 'miracle cure '🙄 and if there is something new on the market that will actually work.. Do you think (in your opinion) that Revela is the same as Rogaine (just under a different name for "Minoxidil ") 🙄.....or do you think it's better and I should give it a try....

Great video as always. I had been to my germ about my itch scalp. Certain part of my scalp itch. He ran test plus autopsy of my scalp. They could not find anything. They told be continue using my oil. I am still having problems. There are certain part of my hair thinning. My thyroid was low. Medicine increased. Now my thyroid is okay. I do take 25mg spironolacton. Do I need to have medicine increased. Im in my late sixties. This itchiness is getting worse.

I didn't hear you address the drug- induced hair loss. For those on meds that cause hair to fall out (like chemo agents), is there any hope of prevention without stopping the meds?

I think you misspoke when you said "kidney damage from the sun". It is autoantibodies attacking the glomerulus that leads to damage, and sun itself does not "cause" the autoantibodies to direct at the kidneys. In fact, those with a bad case of discoid lupus often have a milder course of lupus (as opposed to refractory SLE). of course sunscreen and sun avoidance are extremely important for all with Lupus, but I think it is best to convery risk accurately.

It is quite pricey and I mostly find very unrealistic, ad-like before and afters but would prefer the opinion from a trustworthy, knowledgeable source like yourself.

Could anybody help explain what happened to my skin that is now red and very dry, I also lose hair(not as much since 2017) ever since I was in Palm Springs in 2017 in 100+ weather for 3momths. I did had poor diet also there. But now I got to treat my skin and hair still falls out now. I didn't ever have to use moisturizers now it's the only way to treat my skin.

I started with AA in 2014 after a series of traumas. I tried all the essential oils. Men’s Rogaine made me grow a beard and have strange sensory feelings. So I had to stop. Spiralactone made me gain weight rapidly. I had scalp injections which worked until 2020 and regrowth really slowed. A year later nothing the dermatologist prescribed worked. In 2021, it turned into AU. I am totally devastated. I has also affected my nails. Off and on I have Beau’s lines. Sad there is nothing to help with this with the exception of Jk inhibitors, which is expensive and comes with a boat load of side effects.

Can scarring alopecia be cured? I have lupus..i take steroid injection on my scalp within 4/8 weeks. But the problem is that the growing new baby hair fall out.. Im depressed doctor.

I was diagnosed with androgenic alopecia. My hair has been falling out since 2015. It’s so extremely thin. I have yet to use any treatments. Minoxidil is the treatment that was recommended but I’m afraid of additional hair growing on my face. I already have thin upper lip hair. Which I hate. So yeah, I don’t need more hair growing on my face from minoxidil. I need it to grow on my head. Smh. Im so frustrated. I can’t win. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I noticed that one of my eyebrows had been thinning a lot. I went to my dermatologists, and she told me I have alepcia areata, and she said that steroid injection monthly will help, but after my first treatment, I see more thinning of my eyebrows. Would I need something else oral then the injection?

Hello Dr. Sugai, what would be a great shampoo and conditioner for someone who suffers from oily scalp and dry brittle hair, and sometimes dandruff all at the same time :( ? I am also experiencing noticeable hair thinning. I have hypothyroidism. I recently went to a dermatologist and was so disappointed because they didn't even examine my scalp and hair. They just automatically suggested men's rogaine.

Dessert Essence Coconut Shampoo on scalp only once a week to clarify and remove buildup. Use a hydrating smoothing shampoo on scalp the rest of the week. Followed by whatever smoothing conditioner you like on mid to ends only. No hair dryer. Towel wrap only. Don't rub hair with towel. Don't wash hair every day. No tight hairstyles around scalp. Supplement with grass-fed collagen. And yes, try Rogaine. I do all of this and have hypothyroidism/hormonal problems too.

After a significant round of COVID-19 a year and a half ago, I didn’t lose hair, but the rate of growth has significantly slowed. Instead of 12 inches, it has grown 4-5 inches. At least I don’t have to shave very often. Is there anything to increase the rate of growth?

I got some kind of diffuse alopecia allover my head and wear wigs im on Fin for now,trying prp's,and a hairloss serum from a holistic provider(its not irritating my scalp skin) don't know if it's scarring hairloss,or not at this point but I fear it is..taking lots of supplements also like D3, magnesium,vitamin c,iron,b vitamins,and eat organic tried being sugar,gluten,and dairy free but it lasted 5 months,and saw no difference so now I just limit my intake of these things...

Very good question- not at all! It rubs in well and don’t need a shower cap to hold in place unlike messy scalp oils.

I'm no longer into fully "natural DIY" skin and hair care. I currently relay on proven and scienced based solutions no matter if it's natural or synthetic. Both can be effective, life isn't black or white. according to testimony and some studies I tried a solution of 2% rosemary oil, 2% peppermint oil and coffee Extract oil dilited in capryls. I used to have a lot of hair in high school but with severe weight loss, anemai etc I lost almost half of my volume and it never grew back. I fixed my diedmt but with age (I'm in my early 20's) I have no hope it will one day be as full as before. I'm currently using this solution 2-3 times a week hours before shampoo and after 3 month my front hair line grew a lot of new hair and it never happened in YEARS. New hair are growing all over my scalp and I assume this preparation do works. More studies are needed to validate it but it's not because it's not supported by enough studies that it's not efficient.
