Still my favorite player of all time. Idc if we didn’t get to see *much* of what he could do when he’s right, his MVP season was a highlight reel in itself. Dude was unstoppable. Too big, too strong, too fast, too good.
Thanks for acknowledging big dog double og d riggitty Jump 10 feet hang in the air for 20 fig Getty then slam the ball so damn hard in the rim you felt it through the tv if you were watching the tv Rose
He is way better, might not be so explosive now due to many injuries and fear of getting injured again, but he is way too wise now, even made a career high of 50 points which is great to see from a person who had many surgeries and downfalls
Tell me a better point God😮💨 just glad we got highlights of him true 99 overall in his early prime. He got all the tools offensively and more! Plus the Defensive awareness. He's intensity reminds me of Jordan in his prime, just a dog💪
Yall disrespecting westbrook in these comments. I love rose as well but dammit westbrook was that dude too. Let’s not tear one down to build up another.
The body control this man had with the ball in his hand was special. He’s going to be talked about like the oldheads talk about Bill Walton but D Rose carried a bunch of defenders and under preforming Carlos Boozer to the #1 seed in East Conference the same era of prime Lebron and the big 3 Heat. He was special. 😢
He was like a small sport car with a super big Turbo . So fast so explosive but that power and explosiveness and speed was just too much for his body to handle . Which eventually led to his injuries. Remember seeing him in person here in Chicago, his speed and acceleration was out of this world once that fasbreak started no one i mean no nobody could out run this dude he was a blur in the open court just amazing acceleration and control “he was a ferrari with a bunch of hyundais out there on the court “ just like stacey king once said . Just amazing talent rose had I dont think we will ever see anyone close to drose. Winning the mvp at 22 in a league in a league with the best player’s in the world , this achievement will be one of the hardest to ever break for anyone been 11 years now and not one player has broken this achievement yet , how special and beast drose was, Ja is nice but not even close .
Nah it was the driver not the engine, no such thing as being too fast for your body, if a Bugatti is fast it’s because it was built for speed, there was no forcing it, it’s not landing properly and playing reckless took a toll on his knees
This guy has the best highlight reel I’ve ever seen…and most of it is from three seasons! Imagine what we’d be watching right now if he never got injured. Just a wild amount of ball control and athleticism. He looks like he’s floating when he jumps!
THE Barry Sanders of basketball. Not the NBA's hall of fame but the people have spoken. They don't need Canton Ohio to be immortal, all u need are the people.
And let me correct myself, he will make the hall of fame no doubt bcz the man had 3 gears like Mike and took it out of LeBron James mouth when LeBron was prime not derrick. D Rose NEVER had a prime whats crazy bcz this wasn't 10yrs into the avg prime of an NBA players career. He was only 19-25! Gear 1: unstoppable abilities Gear 2:unguardable abilities Gear 3: ridiculous abilities.
I think he will be in the hof. If he doesnt make it he would be the first mvp not in there. I think that award with his play off runs will get him in. Plus he has had ok numbers post injury. I think he also got a sixth man of the yr award.
I still believe he was the goat when he was with the bulls before the injury. His explosives was to much for his body at that time. Better than lebron and wade.
I’m literally having this argument right now some funny saying ja better then him I’m like bruh he ran over the heat in his prime ja had a hard time with the timberwolves
@@user-58_gotti Ok let’s be honest he gave the Heat fits to say he ran over them ummmmm might be an overstatement lol. You have to actually win a series to say u ran over someone
No way rose was better than Lebron. Brons defense and scoring was much better than rose thats why bron locked him down in the ECF in 2011. I do think rose deserved that mvp though but clearly rose was never better than bron. Drose could have been better though if it wasn’t for the injuries. Injuries robbed us of his peak prime . But a 22 year old drose was nowhere close to miami bron. Thats one thing that people forget about bron his defense in miami. Those where his best years defensively. Ima big rose fan but I can’t ever say rose was better than bron cause I know and understand basketball I can’t agree with you sorry. At 22 rose was never better than lebron . But he could have been if injuries didn’t happen to rose
He was once upon a time the best point guard in the league, he could have been one of the greatest point guards in NBA history, I’m so sad to see his potential diminished due to injuries
Tell me a better point God😮💨 just glad we got highlights of him true 99 overall in his early prime. He got all the tools offensively and more! Plus the Defensive awareness. He's intensity reminds me of Jordan in his prime, just a dog💪
6:38 The flash, unstoppable. Without a doubt one of the most fantastic players in the NBA, before the injuries. There was no player at the time at such an athletic level, or at least they didn't do what he did with all this technique and speed.
When I lived in Milwaukee…and the Bulls would come to town, he would get MVP chants in MKE. It was crazy. Kobe is the only other player I seen get MVP chants in another city.
Oh my God, I wished Derrick Rose did not get injured...he was absolutely a generational talent. He should have been in the top 75 NBA greatest and a first ballot Hall Of Famer 😔
Skip to like 5:33, I think that is like the greatest example of how ridiculous Rose athleticism was. He flies for the block, goes out of bounds for a sec, then accelerates into Ferrari mode, gets the ball, and then becomes a one man wrecking crew, ignores the D, calmly makes his way inside, spins like it's nobodies business, contorts his body and lays it in (against a great defender Hibbert too) Gosh Rose made me fall in love with basketball so hard, even if I could never play like him (not that anyone really can... although some come close)
I’m glad I witnessed his greatness while he was on top of the world at such a young age, I’m just not happy I witnessed the many injuries he suffered 😢 he will forever be one of my favorite players
This guy (D Rose)went up against a stacked Lebron team. People give Bron credit for guarding him for a moment in the 4th. This dude was the engine and the offense of his team. Bron had monStars (Space Jams)on his team. He was exhaused while Bron was fresh. Most overrated statement made about Bron "he guards one through 5" nonse.
Man stop. Even in Cleveland when lebron lost love and Kyrie injured down 2-1 rose still ain't lead the bulls past Bron. And he did get locked up by a guy that can and has guarded 1-5. Go watch the 2013 finals when Bron was guarding Tim Duncan, kawhi, Tony Parker and got that huge block on Tiago splitter. Or when he locked up russ, harden, Murray, and Giannis. If u don't know ball just say u don't know ball.
Derrick Rose is Derrick Rose but I just can help to see a mix of like, 50% of Allen Iverson + 50% of Michael Jordan in him. Such a great player and man.
The Bulls did this young man a great disservice. He could have preserved his knees and probably prevented a lot of damage to his knees if they would have taught him how to land after jumping😑. As a Chicago native and lifelong Bulls fan his time there was special. Need to retire that #1 as soon as he hang it up
MVP! D Rose , I watched every single Bulls game for 3-4 years straight when D Rose arrived to the Bulls - He is the REAL MVP! And it was too fun watching him exploding to the rim and performing, PHENOMAL feats. I haven't watched many, if any, bulls game after the D Rose era. It's just not the same, D Rose #1.
there was like a 3-4 year period during my high school/ college days where it felt like almost half the people on the basketball court were wearing adizero crazy lights
Came down left leg first on most of his higher leaps. Tragic that's what killed his career. Even after, he was still athletic, just "normal" (better than the average athlete) athleticism.
Not gunna lie I love D.Rose but this whole video I didn see one highlight against the Spursl my favorite team but the first game I went to I might have jus turned 15-16 so it was ‘10-‘11 but it was against the bulls and D.Rose was crazy fast explosive all that but to see it in person and my first nba game I attended it was crazy of course I wanted S.A to win but D.Rose had one play be coast to coast in like 3-4 seconds I swear there was at least 20 on the shit clock but he dunked it n led the comeback!! Always have live for D.Rose 💯
