Aside from the fact that he is a bonafide badass, and mega puss pounder, but he's also a man of literature. Lord Shaxx is truly the best character in Destiny.
Props to Shaxx for being able to recite all 5 acts. As someone who has been in the Tempest and seen how much pretty much everybody can botch their lines, that takes skill.
(Hello, two-year-old comment.) Every time I think about this lore, I recall the sprite, and I'm not sure if it's laughter or screams or both deep inside my being when I think about him imitating that voice. lol
@@slipspacesurvivalist9416 Ariel, if I remember correctly? It's been about 3 years since I was in the production, but I think that was the character you're referring to. The name might be incorrect, but I think that was it. I would love to hear Shaxx's impression of a lot of those characters lol. Namely Fernando (or whatever the one comedic relief's name was who was played by Russel Brand in one recording of it) for some reason. Idk why I specifcally want to know how he would do that voice, but I do.
@@trickytreyperfected1482 God, I just want to hear it in general. lol I don't care how long it takes, I'd sit patiently through the whole thing. Every ludicrous voice coming from this man...
it wasnt a booty call, maras dead lover sjur eido was a good friend of shaxx, so mara wanted to talk with shaxx about her. who better to call then one of your old lovers best friends when u miss them
Which is frankly surprising consider how reckless some folks in Destiny is with old classics if the lore is to go by. What Shaxx doesn't mention in this bit of voice clip is that he just didn't put down the book when Mara demands that he reads it, he turned it into dust with Arc energy as a blunt act of defiance.
Although the more I think about it, the better it gets. Imagine you're Shaxx's ghost and you revive a dude. He wakes up, pulls himself out of his grave, and the first thing he reads is the damaged headstone which reads 'Shak...s' He starts calling himself 'Shaks', and people start spelling it as Shaxx and he's too busy being a badass to tell them otherwise. He quotes Shakespeare stuff, on more than one occasion if I'm not mistaken. He knows at least one play, The Tempest, by heart. For an absolutely brutal fighter, he is *extremely* charismatic, moreso than most characters in the story. Idk man, all I'm saying is if they release a weapon called 'Shaxx's Spear' with some lore text regarding Shaxx's initial revival, I won't be upset if the man is Billy Shakes himself.
Two years since that lore card came out, and I still can’t believe that it’s actually in the lore that Lord Shaxx did the dirty with the queen of the awoken
Yes Chad jokes aside...this is a lot of depth to both of their characters. Not only was Mara IMPRESSED with a Lightbearer, but she fauned over one to some extent. I hope this doesn't negatively affect shaxx come the witch queen. Thats a weakness she could use against him with her song.
Shaxx was a simp for mara but Mara liked Sjur more so Mara summoned Shaxx to read the book about Sjur So I believe the part “the helmet stayed on” wasn’t suggesting sex but rather that Shaxx might’ve cried at the memory of Sjur because they were friends
I feel sad for Shaxx after watching a Byf video about this. Apparently Mara just wanted to spend time with a mutual friend of her dead girlfriend and wanted to spend time remembering her with him. However, Shaxx might be taking the situation the wrong way because he fancies Mara, while Mara does not reciprocate these feelings. I hope Byf is wrong. Mara needs to have some feelings, plus, bi people do exist, Bungie.
i think the line "the helmet stayed on" is saying that nothing happened between them, basically saying he didn't get intimate because if you wanted to get intimate with someone you would take off your helmet.
I just came here from Byf’s vid realizing that Mara used Shaxx as a semi replacement for her dead wife and didn’t tell him what he was getting into. Poor Shaxx thought he had a chance… oof
Likes strong men, I'd guess. Especially as she seemed to have no qualms about him burning the book she handed to him and started reciting Shakespearean literature from memory to her.
Shaxx the titan of titans the true man of men hell if he'd been on the front lines with saint going toe to toe with the taken king o think things woulda turned out wayyyy differently
Okay I know this is probably not canon and even if this was the intention by the writer they might just never confirm it, but the idea that the almighty warlord Shaxx and the enigmatic Awoken Queen Mara are at the very least some strange form of friends with benefits and it just never becomes relevant is kinda funny to me. It’s one of the most random parings but you can weirdly see it working well enough it seems plausible.
