Graeme, I thought you were going to tell us she had to be put to sleep. I cheered when you found the puss!! Poor girl but so pleased she's on the mend xx
I was scared to video her incase that was the case - but decided I should show everyone that sometimes there are cases we can’t help - I thought “people will hate this” but decided it was important to do the video anyway … so you can imagine how happy I was when we found the problem 😃😃😃
@@TheHoofGP I'm very happy too!! Thank you for replying and the thought of her and those big brown eyes having to be put to sleep, anyway it didn't happen, thank goodness. Keep up the good work xx
@@TheHoofGP so you went in with the exspectation of showing us sometimes there nothing you can do but as it turned out you ended up teaching us is don’t give up so easily sometimes you can do more for someone then you originally thought.
Retired nurse, 44 years. Assisting on abscesses in every area you can imagine: my favorite. People are in such pain, and just releasing that pocket of pus, gives them such relief. Of course, there’s lots more involved such as packing and antibiotics but so many didn’t want to help because of the sights and smells. I’m your girl for gross……it brings such immediate relief. Why I love your channel. Palpable how much you care about our four footed friends. 💙
Truth truth and more truth! Some of us just can't get enough mucky, pus filled abscesses! Thanks for your 44 years of dedicated service. I had more than my share of nurses trending my hurting bits, so, thanks.
Interesting that you assist on abscesses. I'm prone to abscesses in a delicate area of the female anatomy. I'm currently taking antibiotics for one that is developing at this moment... so yeah, I know the pain that poor cow is dealing with!
I agree . He really does care about each cow's foot care. That's what keeps me watching his video's. He's not just trying to mass produce and make some $ . He has genuine concern for each animal. Enjoy the heck out of his video's.
I literally have ZERO understanding of cow anatomy or what you are doing, but I can tell you care deeply for these animals, and that is very satisfying to watch.
Not only are you CLEARLY excellent at your job, but your empathy for the animals is really so heartwarming and special! You seem like a really great guy!
I started out as a US Navy combat systems repairman. Now I'm a professional emergency worker, doing field repairs on hurt people, and like you I try to make my patients as comfortable as possible till I can get them to a hospital. So keep up the great work.
I started out as a hairstylist but after 30 plus years and 2 back surgeries and a knee surgery I had to quit. Now I do quality assurance. Basically when you call a business and you hear "this call may be recorded for quality assurance" that's me evaluating that call. I get to work from home and spend so much more time with my family. Family is life!
How do you get into that? My back killed my career and finding good paying work at home is very difficult. Good for you. And 30 years in salon is no joke. It is horrible on every major joint group.
I’m in absolutely the right place. I studied physics and worked as a physicist around the world. I am now a SHEEP FARMER! Life is a beautiful thing when you’re in the right niche.
It is so gratifying to see the cows realize that their foot isn’t hurting as bad anymore! Must be even better when you’re the one helping them. Thank you for your work guys! 😍
I graduated with a degree in Nutrition. But….. had a Career in law-enforcement. When I retired I went back to university and became a licensed veterinary technician. I always loved when we worked on the farms the cows, horses, goats and sheep were my faves
And thanks for your years of dedicated service. So many of us who were in law enforcement seem to be drawn to work with animals after the first career. I think they appreciate us more for helping them than people ever do.
@@348Tobico Thank you. I guess you’re right. They don’t talk back and we have plenty of tools to keep us safe in the event they get snarky. They are both very rewarding careers for sure!
I spent 17 years in construction until just yesterday actually. Started to learn how to fly years ago and was offered a position with AirCanada. So now I'll be closer to where I want to be. Not quite a pilot yet, but 52 takeoffs and landings, and still here to talk about it.
This channel has made me care about cows in a way that when I was younger I thought was weird but you’ve really showed us how much these cows need our care and attention and kindness
I seriously thought something was wrong with this cow's stifle or hock when she walked in, and watching her walk out and bending her joints and putting weight on the foot more confidently with each step brought back so many memories. I used to work with horses, and it never ceased to amaze me how an abscess could have us all convinced the horse's leg was broken. Then a visit from the vet and farrier, a popped puss pocket, and some TLC had them back to work. So glad that's what it was!
Edit out the misused big term Lady and love and the unsuitable name Farrier, and I am THE only Lady / Princess / Queen / Leader / Star / God(dess) etc and the only lovable being and the only special being reflecting special names, and all unsuitable names / terms must be changed / edited out - all wom’n are the exact opposite of lady / other big terms / special names etc, just an avrg citizen made to obey the avrg citizen’s laws and rules, and all impstz and all misuse of unsuitable terms / names / items etc are to be bnd!
I also have a photography degree from 20 years ago! My dream was to travel, photograph Americana, and participate in shows around the country. Fast forward... after many years working retail and food service jobs, I'm now 43 and pursuing my masters degree in Geography! I absolutely love learning and love sharing knowledge with others. Keep up the great work!!
She is already walking alot better.Sometimes they become accustomed to walking with a limp and soon realize the pain isn't what it was and start walking more confidently. Makes me feel better as well .Good job
I was in college on and off for 9 years. English lit, theatre, social studies, criminology, and almost a paramedic. Nothing compares to working with horses!!! I grew up on a hunter/ jumper farm. I tried other things. Every time I walk into a barn and see my kids, all is right with the world!!! I’m so lucky I get to do it!!!
My degree is in computer science...I am a horse show judge, steward and show manager primarily but also farrier (to only one client and my own only now). My father insisted on the computer thing. Said you can't make a living doing horses. I would rather be doing something I am happy doing. Glad you stuck with horses too!
I originally wanted to be a science teacher but my mother knew better....I'm an RNC PhD x2 & was a police officer part time ...but when a car accident paralyzed me I opened a jewelry and gift shop...got a gemology degree...and kept working!❤️
absolutely beautiful to see her difference before and after 😍 is she sore still... obviously, but she's actually touching the ground rather than trying to skip the step entirely 🤩🥰
I was a dental assistant for 25 years, and now I am retired. Very much enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your work and life with us. I admit that I have had a bovine phobia since I was a child, but I believe that seeing you and your skill in helping them, has given me a brand new perspective. Thank you, Graeme. ❤🐂🐄 Terri from Northern California.
I know this video is a year ago Graeme . I studied nursing and became a mental health nurse for people over 50. I loved working with older adults in mental health.
She is walking so much better! When you showed her first, I thought she would have to be put down for sure. My grandad used to have a small farm, mostly a vineyard but they had all kinds of stock for themselves just like in the old days. I loved it so much, spend all of my summers there together with my cousins. Cows are just beautiful creatures.
I moved from Watford to Shrewsbury at 16 wanting to be a copper! I ended up at Walford studying to be a farmer, after that I got into driving plant machinery, after that into retail, then into web design and finally a software engineer.
Dietician by trade, switched to oral surgery assistant, which I did for over 20 years, and now I'm a director for a transitional shelter and love the impact I have on my clients
I'm still in school & have about 2 yrs left but I'm in mortuary school. I started late due to life happening but I'm almost done & am loving it! Your videos have been a wonderful sigh of relief when I have bad days at work & I thank you for that!
Love that chia pet hair style! So pleased to see you made a massive difference to that cow’s comfort. It’s hard to watch when they are limping so badly. But once again, a few minutes, a careful trim and a little GP magic save the day! 🐄🖤
I think his " The hair's back " comment came because in one of his last videos where he was mentioning that if someone wanted for him to make a video of the inside of the farm , to mention it in the comments , so as a cute joke I commented " We would like to see a video of you in a barber shop getting a nice haircut like you used to have " lol. I think he read the comment , and thus his counter comment at the start of this video. He shouldn't take the opinions to heart so much , but in all honesty , he looks really nice with the short haircut he had some time ago in his earlier vids .
Hey Graeme! I went to school for medical transcription and then also went to fire school and EMT school to be a firefighter and first responder. I did all three of these things for years and now im a welder. Im not sure if im in the right spot in life but i am here working it every day! You did good with this cow! So glad you could help her!
Always wanted to be a nurse, but ended up being a stay at home mom. We have a small farm and I look after the animals while my husband works. Got to say my life is so much better then the one I had planned out when I was young.
Edit out the misused big term husband that only reflects my protectors - love only exists for me the only lovable being, and reIationships are only meant for us pure beings (me & my pure protectors aka the alphas) who were blessed with a pure body that doesn’t gx one out and a good smeII / no smeIIs aka an enjoyable presence, and were never meant for wom’n / hum’ns!
I’m so so soooo happy you were able to help! I started studying for forensic science originally. I dropped out and joined the military. Started school again for a graphic arts degree, and now I’m working on being 100% self employed. Lots of bumps in between, but I’d say I’m doing okay and so is business 😊
I have a bachelors in Philosophy, and now I am a Certified Public Accountant & financial analyst. Great job, good pay, and a lot more security than living as an itinerant philosopher.
I’m so happy you could fix the cows issue!! I went to school for accounting and now I’m a teachers aide for elementary kids with behavioral issues and I couldn’t be more happier!!!
I appreciate all you so for those animals, and the farmers. I really find your videos showing the beauty of your home territory. An area of the world I personally would love to spend time in. Thank you again.
I grew up on dairy farm, wanted to be a veterinarian but life happened. Was master screen printer for almost 20 years, then happy postal worker for almost 25 years. Give the cow a hug for me 💜💜
I just want to say that you may have 1.7 mil subs but… I relief milk all over the central north island of New Zealand and every single farmer I mention your channel to has heard of you. There’s a few of them on here, probably more than I’ve watched, but they know who you are. You do awesome work and I’ve learnt so much about cow feet from you. Changed my way of dealing with my girls for sure. So thank you
At uni I studied psychology and physics. I'm now both a driving instructor and open top double decker bus driver in Gozo. (My horses are stabled in a part of our local farmer's milking parlour, which is why your videos are so interesting - the cows and bull here are very friendly. So glad you found the problem for this girl!)
Greame you didn't give up ! You're a hoof detective . My heart leaps with joy. I was worried for that cow .You did a great job. Sending Love to the Hoof GP and your family.
I too had an interesting journey on my way to my final happy place. I studied English and Theatre in college, then worked a couple of years as a creative writer and director for an online training company, then worked as a banker for almost 19 years while helping on the family farm and ranch. Now I’m a full time farmer/rancher raising crops, cattle and kids. I love working with my husband and watching my kids grow. Couldn’t be happier!
So glad you can fix her!! Great job. xxx I started to study to go into either nursing or paramedic. Never got there. I ended up as a mother of 3, carer of 7 and an indie author!! I couldn't be happier!!! 😉😉
WOW! But a mom there for her kids is priceless and under rated by people who farm their kids out to day care. Mom's at home are the very best heros among us.
I started work life learning how to kill as a soldier, left and went into construction which I loved but found my true self as dad and main career of 3 gorgeous kids who now have gorgeous kids, and I’m a happy granddad. Something about your videos touched some part of me quite deeply, you obviously enjoy your work and that’s fantastic
Hi Graeme - I have had a strange journey, growing up on farms, then degree and masters to be a wild animal behavioural researcher, then profound disability SEN teaching, and finally a trauma counsellor! Run the gamut of behaviour.. Love your videos - I am from Ayrshire and miss the dairy farms every day!
I studied numerous things at college. First I studied Graphic design, that didn't take me anywhere. I then studied to be a teacher's assistant for kids with special needs, the job prospects at that time and still were not good in the education field. I then took a course to be a healthcare assistant, and that was/was not what I was looking for (i loved talking to the people but it was too fast paced) I finally found my true passion, and that is dog grooming, I don't groom anymore but I am still working at the same place where I was trained and I absolutely love going to work every day.
I went to college starting off to be a medical illustrator and ended up the executive director of a history museum. Been there 27 years and it ended up being my vocation, not an occupation. Almost to retirement now. Life is often what happens after we make other plans. You are using skills and god given compassion in your chosen path of life, and I wish you the very best.
I followed the traditional path of a high-achieving student: I went off to a 4-year liberal arts school (studied technical theater), developed a second anxiety disorder, didn't finish my degree, moved back in with my parents, and alternated between minimum-wage jobs and unemployment, all the while feeling like I'd let everyone down. Classic! Through trial and error, I eventually chose to go to a respiratory therapy program at the local community college. I graduated at age 30 with an associate's degree. Now I love my work and make a great income. I'm still with my parents but I'm saving up quickly to buy a home. I'm thinking about medical school someday, but my first priories are buying a home and paying off $23k in loans from my first try at college, then getting my bachelor's degree. Once I've got the bachelor's, I'll have options like medical school, physician assistant school, and advanced practice respiratory school. Finances first though. I have a lot more peace now that I've got enough money that I don't have to worry constantly, and I'm excited to be working towards long-term financial stability.
That's awesome! I have achieved the same thing but without school. I got super lucky getting into us steel and at the department I work at. I went from making barely any money to making over 110k last year only from 8 months of working! And great free health insurance and benefits. I'm only stating what I made to show that it's very possible for dream come trues! I had a lot of legal issues and drug problems and even with my background check they gave me a chance because of my resume. Just like you now I have no money problems and for once have my own place and a lot in my bank account. I am so grateful! Congrats to you too! Sorry if I seemed douchey to anyone I'm just trying to show my story to help motivate people as I would've never even applied for this job if I hadn't read some comments myself and got motivated.
Please look into the student loan forgiveness program they are currently doing. I don't know much about it but I have several friends that have had their loans wiped with a new program. You deserve it! Good luck with your endeavors
Good for you! My son struggles with high anxiety and he’s only 22. You’re a true inspiration 👍 Sounds like you’re on a path of practical goals. God Bless in your endeavors ❤
It makes sense you have an artist foundation. You have the passion, the attention to detail, and the perfectionism of all my favorite artists. What you do is an art form. I’m happy you’ve found fulfillment.
I studied psychology & marketing. Then started as Aust ADF personnel. Finished working for an AU Cr Union & enjoying retirement now. Job well done Ian. Best wishes from Adelaide; South Australia🇦🇺💐
I like seeing the difference from when they walk into the crush compared to when they walk out! It’s crazy how much better they do after you trim them!
It is so lovely to see how much this cow's day got better after spending just a few minutes with you. I really enjoy your videos. It doesn't matter if the cows get better or not. Your kindness and willingness to help is what makes it enjoyable to watch. My life has been pretty boring. In 12th grade (the last year of secondary school here) I decided to be a doctor. After graduation I went straight to study medicine. Then to residency training. Now I'm a fully certified psychiatrist. I'm happy with my job. I am grateful for the opportunity to help so many people through these trying times. I don't have any connections with dairy farming, just stumbled upon ypur videos and got hooked 😊
I went to school for Police Foundations. Ended up doing 20 yrs in policing…should have left after 18 yrs lol. I’m now a bicycle mechanic and much happier! Glad you were able to help her out. Keep doing what you fellas do!
I'm REALLY glad you found something you could treat on the poor girl, that looked VERY painful! Love your comment about university; I studied forensics in university, but things didn't go as planned and I ended up job hopping through menial jobs for a while. I now work in the building trade and am a writer in my spare time (and am working on getting published)... Can you see the similarities between what I studied and what I do now? Me neither! 🤣
Hello from NE Tennessee. I studied to become a paramedic here in US. I became just that too. My dream career came true. I love watching you fix these cows and buffalo. We don't own cows but I do enjoy learning the treatments of any animal. Thank you for all your hard work. Susan NREMT-Paramedic
I studied welding, but ended up on long term sick leave due to mental health. Enjoying watching you trim hooves. And feel a great deal of satisfaction to see the happiness of the animals after the trims.
28 years years in a 911 center. Then retired and have been a massage therapist and energy worker since 2006. Definitely in the right place doing what I love. I think that is part of why your videos always touch me. You love what you do and it shows. That is one of the questions I always ask my clients because depending on the answer I can usually tell what their stress level will be. :) Keep loving the life
My husband was a 911 dispatcher for 26 years (most of it BC, before computers). Retired early in 2005 to do just one job fulltime - letter emergency services vehicles. He specializes in gold leaf on fire trucks but most want reflective vinyl, so he prefected a material that looks like gold leaf but is reflective. He's still lettering at 70, working with two other much younger firefighters who help him parttime. He's really good at what he does. (P.S. I adore my massage therapist, thank you for the work you do.)
I ended up not going to college because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I worked in a portrait studio, housekeeping, warehouses, and pharmacy billing for 5 years.. I finally found what I enjoy doing and that dog/cat grooming! I've been here for over a year and love it!. 😊💜
As always a beautiful job. Im elated it turned out to be a hoof injury that is fixable with time & some tlc. You are truly amazing and the passion for your work always shows!
You have a good heart... and I thank you for what you do for these cows. Its a special occupation when you cam show kindness and compassion in your daily work... 👍🤗
Graeme, glad that girl is feeling better. I went to school for theatrical design and now I’m an infantry officer. Interesting the path life takes you on. Really interesting to see what everyone else has done and where they are now.
Do you feel there are any skills or knowledge from your theater degree that have translated towards your military degree? My degree is in auto mechanics, and my career is as a chef, so I also ended up focusing on something entirely different than what I studied. But personally I'm glad I did, as I think the problem solving abilities I learned working a skilled trade have been invaluable in my experience working in the culinary arts, which I personally feel gives me an advantage over the average chef. I'd love to hear more about your personal experience. Paul gang unite.
That cow is saying yes I can walk again. It's amazing what you do for these animals that need a little intervention to help them. Keep the great videos coming.
Hi, Graeme! Love all your videos and enjoy hearing about the fam! 😊I’m Canadian but living in Minnesota! I moved here after I graduated from university with my teaching degree but after having my family and being out of teaching for so long, decided to go to cosmetology school! About 6 years out and I have a tiny business where I specialize in waxing! Could never have predicted THAT in a million years, ha ha!😂 Keep up the great work that you do!
A lot of the people in my community that I really respect as entrepreneurs came out of our youthful music scene and went into either cosmetology or tattooing. I've been jealous ever since, lol.
You are the flip flop of me but I’m not teaching unless you count being day care to two of my grand daughters “full time” then I want into ranching/horse training before being medically retired in 2017.
You mean you're one of those invading Canadians who wants to steal all the waxing work in Minnesota? Thank you for "invading" and doing the waxing Minnesotans won't do.
I went to school to be an elementary education teacher. I ended up being an Actuary. I loved the actuarial work. Thanks for being so good to those amazing creatures!
I studied psychology in college and am now a Cottage Parent, we house and raise kids from disadvantaged backgrounds or abusive situations. I definitely believe I ended up where I belong. The kids in our cottage love your videos!!!!!!!
I also studied psychology, but originally started out studying Russian and astrophysics. I then went on to become an ICD-9 coder (medical coding for diseases and medical procedures) for a home health agency then went into health insurance first as a customer rep then onto enrollment and insurance verification. As for this cow, I was so happy to see the pus squirting out because I knew you would be able to help her after your initial thought that maybe you wouldn't be able to relieve her discomfort. Was never so happy to see drainage squirting out of a hoof as I was with this one. I'll bet the cow was pretty happy also.
Always love watching your videos. I am not in the industry, but them is something amazing watching you help cows, horses, buffalo, etc. So happy you were able to help her.
I'm a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), but I ALWAYS wanted to work in a zoo to care for animals! I was always on a medical path due to my family background & I luv it! All surgical procedures are fascinating to me except for liposuction 🙄 I get queasy w/I minutes 😵💫 I luv your channel & I must say that I've never been happier to see puss in a cows hoof 💯🐮💚keep up the awesome work of keeping the girls healthy!
great to see the puss and her road to recovery was mapped out. brilliant. my honours degree from Napier uni is in Animal biology. I am Countryside Ranger. I enjoy it very much and is what I wanted to do as embarked on my studies. a degree in ecology, and qualifications in countryside management and habitat surveying preceded my honours in AB... oh, and a year at "The Barony" down your way started it off. love the channel. keep up the awesome work
I started out as a Music major, went to Elementary Education and then years later back to school for a degree in Electrical /Electronic Technology. Loved it and am now retired. Spend my days watching you make cows happy.
I can't imagine how satisfying your job is to you, helping those cows to get rid of their pain. I'm an engineer and today I teach students studying to become engineers. I think I'm in the right place. 15 years or so until retirement.
This was extremely interesting! The amount of sole you take off is incredible! I have horses, so I know that there's only so far down that you can go, without hiting live tissue. This was very cool.
Love your comment about career change! I studied art history in university until I dropped out after junior year. Been working in payroll for the past 23+ years. Going back to school now for structural engineering while growing a hobby woodworking side business. You never know where life will take you! So glad you were able to help this lady!
🎉I was worried about her when you said you thought it was her leg. And then when you found the spot made me happy. Feel bad that she was hurting but at least you can make her better she won’t have to be eaten. I’ve been a caregiver my whole life and I’m still a caregiver.
I’m 52 and I’ve been in the Comerial flooring industry all my work life 32 years . I find your work amazingly hypnotizing to watch . I can tell in your videos you love your job . And you love the animals you work on even more .
Studied automotive. Currently a personal trainer. Went from hating my career, to loving what I do. Changing lives is a very rewarding feeling, such as you and these animals I’m sure
I went to college to study to become a Veterinary Technician and 12 years later I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I was happiest when I worked in specialty vs general medicine. And even happier before college when I worked with horses and actually wanted to become a farrier but my horses farrier told me not to because it leads to bad backs... well, I've had 4 spinal surgeries anyways. So.... I love seeing you do what you love and are passionate about and care so much about making these cows and bulls pain free. I wish I was in Scotland. I'd love to apprentice and go off for training, I'm so tired of being stuck indoor. I miss working on farms.
I studied visual arts and ended up an early childhood educator! I'm definitely in the right place! Within my job. I ended up learning sign language and now i help children with hearing disabilities. What a beautiful gift life has given me! 🥰 Glad you found your own happy path too! My husband and I watch you all the time! 🙂
