This is the refs that represent your tournament how apalling matched waa biased and went for far too long than it shouldve how can you have a fair match when its ruled to one side
@@kevinreilly7924 Correct. That was the most gassed out I have ever seen Devon in his entire career. This match is a very close second. If you watch Devon in the second round, straining to force the pin on Genadi, that is when he lost most of his stamina for this match. I hadn’t seen him strain like that since he was giving his all to pin M. Todd in their first super match. Devon is just like anybody else when he is struggling to pin. That is Genadi’s secret weapon if they rematch. Just make Devon work to force the pin. The later rounds will be Genadi’s.
@@connorellis1877 I think that's hilarious for a guy that doesn't speak English he knows exactly what he said.. I think he just put you, My and dog together and figured it out😅
@@Pendragon1989 it is hilarious lol, i think you're right he probably understood each of those words and put them together. It's funny he responded while being in a bad position. The guy is awesome, look forward to their rematch.
@@oagente.imobiliario He came off the pad from the side, that's a foul. Seems like you also completely forgot that he did that before Genadi. Keep riding the rats D.
Still not sure why people keep telling Devon to completely change his training. He’s gotten very strong, able to hold Genadi in a hook which is very impressive. He was also catching all of Genadi’s hits, even when he was false starting. As I see it, his arm is plenty strong for the big boys, but he needs to work more on endurance in the inside, as he seems to have lost gas in the later rounds because of it, so maybe just adding a little more cup exercises and he should be good
This match delivered in every possible way! Genadi's hit is nuclear! And Devon actually finally looked truly strong here. The rematch needs to happen. Let's get that first round to be a pin.
Matt, I love your channel and your music. I'm working my way through the Odd Realm score right now, and it's transporting me right back to the 90s playing JRPGs as a kid. What an uncanny surprise to see you here as a fellow arm wrestling fan!
Devon for sure deserves a rematch,on a year basis, against Thor,in boxing, bareknuckle. So Thor can properly stomp his head. And without referee to save him from good pounding. After that "You are my dog " will sound " you fi mi fogh"
Next to Devon in n versatility but better at different things. Devon longer stronger outside. Genadi shorter stronger inside. Devon predicted the last round as a hook, and genadi pressed him again. Tough luck. Could’ve gone either way but genadi took it. Incredibly impressive from both sides
wow, that first round foul was seriously damaging to Devon’s match. Genadis elbow came off pad before his and referee didn’t call it, then calls Devon’s foul! And genadi was in losing position, damn!
@@silvertrain4209ahaahahhahha Genadi cheated against Jerry? Jerrys elbow was levitating in center of the table whole match - not armwrestling but doing elbow sumo.
Absoulte peak performance by both athletes. Thanks to engin for hosting this amazing comptwtition which has really played a huge role in spreading armwrestling in the world.
100% agree with you, Engin did great. Could have chosen a more seasoned referee team considering how big this fight was, also could have had more cameras on the critical points on the table that determine Wins and losses, keeps the referee’s honest as well.
@@cpeters7077 dude those refs have been around for many years, they just made a mistake, it's not an easy job especially when it's these 2 they're reffing.
Honestly now that I know Larratt can definitely beat Genadi and clearly has a stronger wrist, I'd like to see him against some else now, like Ermes or Vitaly. E: CALLED IT!
Absolutely. He moved and broke the entire Devon's frame from an absolutely perfect position for Devon, which means Gena were not even close to burnout - on contrary he only got warmed up well. Looks like Gena has slower adaptation mechanisms, not low stamina - i have the same physiology. First i feel fatigue rather quickly, but give me few minutes and i'm back for a long game in full power. Most people have this adaptation kick in pretty fast, but some people need time to kickstart it. Gena's aware of this aspect of his physiology so he intentionally gave away 1 round at 22:22 to let his adaptation mechanisms the time needed to wake up. It was a strategic retreat Devon misinterpreted as Gena's burn out and started celebrating way ahead of time. Gena turned out to be not only strong but also pretty smart armwrestler. An amazing fight it was.
Also 8:15 ; funny moments 8:25 joke #1, 8:55 "Quit Genadi" #2 ahahahaha. Oh btw, 9:08 elbow fault on Genadi, 9:09 then Devon's elbow is called out as a fault LOL!
Man the reffing was wild. Genadi is still a monster but he got a lot of love from the refs here. They called a weak ass pad foul on devin while genadis shoulder was literally OFF THE PAD
That one bad call in one round and people act like the ref helped him out all 6 rounds lol. Also Devon’s elbow did go back, but I need a better angle to see if it slipped off.
Some of the worst Refs I have ever seen. For as many times as he said Shoulder, he let Genadi load up and meanwhile he kept forcing Devin way in by comparison. It was making me livid, the pull at the 27:00 minute mark was the worse offense, even the announcers caught it. Refs were literally screwing Devin the whole time.
@@rcmunro22both of them were cheating. Devon of course in the setup took everything in the first round, then bad call for the elbow foul. The second flashpin from devon was ridiculus he was already behind his shoulder before the match even started. Both of them were flying with those shoulder before the start. Neither of them can be justified here and for that reason it's a bad match
@@amporg1285 Saying someone is jockying for position in the setup is hardly cheating. That's pretty normal these days, and Genadi was just as guilty. That 27:00 pull it actually cost him the pin how the refs handled that. Watch it again. Even the announcer calls it, I called it then heard the announcer call it was thank jesus someone noticed.
Few seconds before the non-existing Devon’s foul in first round Genadi literally lifted his elbow😂 And from the replay we can also see his false start, for this reason he was able to press so efficiently 😅
it wasn't a non-existent foul..watch ar 9:08..his elbow looks like it drifted off the pad for a moment..we don't have the same angle as the ref who was looking directly at Devon's elbow with his eyes at the same level..how do you know for sure that it was a non-existent foul? And people keep talking about lifting elbows as a foul cuz they didn't watch the rules meeting..watch the 5th round again.. Devon wasn't called for a foul when he lifted the first time..
@@karuonline3294 it’s clearly still on the pad. I mean, the match is full of clear fouls, why they stopped for this where the elbow seems still on the pad?
@@silvio5266 No, it's not "clearly" still on the pad...look at the ref and compare his angle to ours'..how do we know what it looked like from his point of view ? Btw, go to 8:45 where it seems that his elbow drifted out for the first time
Something I just realized in round 1, not only did Devon not foul, but it was actually genadi who fouled right before the ref stopped the match! Insane
My eyes are tearing up, I am laughing.....this was so great...the Oppana yelling.... the theater.....and Levan being mildly embarrassed by Genadi yelling.... A lot of fun. I think it was evenly matched.
9:40 Travis: “I’m not the smartest guy in the world, but I am telling you now, I will bet anything in the world that this match, Neal, is already over.” 😂
Devon started pretty much all rounds on his side of the table, multiple rounds already preloading before the go, and refused to square shoulders in all but 1 round. Both went past the rules, but Devon fans are not used to the opponent doing the same so he was "robbed" now.
From 33:15 to 33:24 look at how devon larratt was blocking genadi's hand with his shoulder which is a foul in itself yet genadi still moved his elbow from pad with his power.
@@skyhawk8354 trust, if there was a foul it would be called. Your saying the referees and commentators that have been armwrestling for 20+ years don't know the rules? Maybe you would be better ref then I guess.
1. Thanks engin for ONCE again Uniting regions together to give us such amazing matches. Keep up the good work. 2. Refs make mistakes. But in this case it was a huge one because it potentialy cost devon a win from 1 wrong foul call(genadi actually made foul there 5secs before) 3. This is the first time seeing devon actually NOT lacking power. He was ALMOST as strong as genadi and generally devon is noticably weaker than his opponents. This time tho...damn he didnt lack. 4. Genadi was a beast. He is a guy who sees a light in the darkest moments...wow he never gives up no matter what.(ex. Dave chaffee match). 5. We want to see the REMATCH. I believe its really 50/50(its all depended on who gets the shoulder in first and the setup tbh) 6. Even tho devon loses after so much HYPE/Friendly trash talk..he always manages to stay a winner in peoples hearts.😂A true ambassador and inspiration even for top atheletes. He knows how to speak, express and bring passion and love to the sport. Waiting for the next EAST VS WEST Thanks engin. You are the man!❤
The call at 9:13 was ATROCIOUS!!!! Completely flipped the match, as it would have gone in Larratt's favor after round 3!!! Engin you need some new judges, especially this LITTLE short guy running this match. He was PAID OFF!!!. If it's 'REALLY' East vs West, then have one judge from the East, and one from the West.
Watch the ref pull down on Devon’s hand every set up leaving genadis up, watch Devon’s shoulder and genadis. Genadi sucked off the ref before the match in the rematch your boy will get smashed. Cheating scum
I was thinking the same firstly. But look when they switched: the situation looks opposite. That's because camera stay perpendicular to the table but both athletes are turned a little bit.
28:22 was that a fair setup? Looks like Genadi's shoulder is way in over the pad, behind his arm. Isn't that giving a huge advantage for that press? It also looks like Genadi has a forward lean on his forearm already and Devon's forearm is straight up...
Who else went and watched the Jerry vs Genadi match after this? Thank you Engin! I have ordered all the ppv since the beginning and they Never disappoint…keeps getting better.
I've stopped buying the PPV until they sort out their dog shit audio levels! Been 7 events now and still audio issues, at least this was the least worst of the lot!
Everybody is talking about the referees, but nobody how Genadi changed his tactics from top roll to press and hook. How he was able to overpower and over endure Devon. Genadi deserved a win
@@POLITICALYCORRECTify I had a seizure trying to read your comment lol, but now that I have recovered, I’ll tell ya something. The match was close, very close, Genadi won fair and square for the most part, but Devon was just as strong, and he did not loose in endurance. You just don’t like Devon, please don’t comment if you are biased.
Round 1, Devon pulls for 48 seconds straight and nearly pins Genadi, and then the refs were extremely bias and fouled him to save Genadi's skin. 48 seconds of pulling just to drain Devon's endurance and grant Genadi a fresh restart shows the referee bias. Of course, the free restart on round 1 was equivalent to giving a massive erection for Genadi
@@prototypeeye What he did in the first round clearly doesn't make him the best. I don't even care about his experience. It was the same thing with Jerry and genadi
@@prototypeeye lol. He gave a Foul on Devon for reposition of his elbow. Reposition of the elbow is a part of the sport, so it is kind of nonsensical to even argue that is was a good call. That is always a bad call. If someone is the best ref, then they have to show the best calls.
First round referee's Mistake I saw Genadi's foul on twice elbows before the Referee hit Devon with it. In the third round, Genadi tilted to flop Devon, the referee didn't see anything. It was the only reason for round 5, and most people tended to stare at him until they overlooked it.
It’s like how they say in boxing, different styles can make a difference. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses; wrist, bicep, forearm, hand etc.. Devon beats ermes Ermes beats genadi Genadi beats Devon Just an endless loop
Thisbis armwretsliny. You have to look at like pro wrestling Devon cs dennis is now “ the biggest match in the history of the sport” It wouldn’t be possible with Devon losing on 2 bi cents in a row. Even canceled the rematch and had ermes come in on a couple weeks notice. Just know what you’re watching.
He said that when he battled with Ermes he had some health issues. Also Engin just recently proposed to Ermes to have a rematch with genadi @@dylanangermuller5789
bruh, im rewatching this and im actually astounded how big of a foul these judges missed after the restart in round 1. genadi pressed devon with judges' hands still being on his.
Agreed maybe there needs to be a replay thing like in football...so you can go back to presses and watch for fouls in slow motion or something..genadis clearly raised his elbow in that first round when devon was about to pin him and then the first genadis pin was a total false start...lol
Absolutely outrageous. Before literally every round the referee is pushing Devon's shoulder back and pulling his hand down, yet doesn't do a thing about Genadi's shoulder or all his false starts. Devon won. This referee should never be allowed to ref a professional match again and a rematch must happen.
All the "wins" of Gennady on in slowly mode, is are false start: 10:09 28:12 35:45 The referee just shouted "Go", immediately AFTER the start of Gennady ..
Round 4 shows what happens if Devon doesn't get his usual advantage at the start. He would never get that high if all referees would trat him like this - simply fair and equal with opponent, so that they both get a fair position and no advantage at the start.. And he is so unhappy if the referees do not play his game. All other guys at least try to get straight and fair start.. Devon is always trying exactly the opposite
he knows he's gonna lose if he doesnt cheat his shoulder (the distance btw his shoulder joint and his hand - if u look closely at Devons shoulder - it's always against the rules and unfair - that is to devon's advantage) BUT if referees catch him at every start with his shoulder glued to his hand - then he starts diverting referee's attention away from that fact by sayin all kind of BS just to make sure they don't notice his cheating) 100% agree Devon is a cheater
@@PeeBurps-gk7cu A lot of words to just state that you hate Devon. But hey, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be having these discussions. Love him or hate him, he has been the biggest boon for the sport.
Loved the fight. Trying to be neutral in thought, I truly felt Devon got a tough run with calls. I think he wins the rematch easy. Either way, well done Genadi! You are still a beast :) I wish you the best. And thank you Engin
@@justaguyfromreddit Yea definitely. I think they both got treated equally. I think Devon fans are focusing in on the calls that went against Devon instead of the whole picture.
