Super Lube is great stuff. Heat proof, waterproof, non rinsing, dielectric, and it will not damage plastic or rubber. They also make a spray lube, which might be better to use than air tool oil. I'd bet that the o rings will not deteriorate again if you use that. The Super Lube grease is also what you want to use on the raw water pump impeller on the boat. I have not had a pneumatic nailer apart before, it was interesting to see.
I used to have a saying, If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, it ain't worth fixin'. Modern technology has put paid to the hammer on that one! 👍
I have never seen an airline quick connector that doesn't leak at least a tiny bit. It seems to be more likely to happen as they get older and more worn out.
Is this a complete rebuild kit? I have the type 1. Its leaking air by the trigger but is due to have everything replaced. I just wondering whats included in the kits? I have never done one before. Great vid, thanks for taking the time.
+805ROADKING I got my kit and rebuilt everything, even the trigger. But Im still leaking out the nose heavily. Any ideas what I could try next? Thanks in advance
I bought the complete O ring kit with the trigger kit. It was like 22 bucks. I just took it apart carefully and replace every ring I pulled with one the equal size, it was easier than I expected! Hope this link works for you. www.ebay.com/itm/DeWALT-D51844-Framing-Nailer-O-Ring-Kit-Type-1-2-3-Plus-Trigger-O-Ring-Kit-/151826988609?hash=item235997fe41:g:LIIAAOSwVL1WAwKu
I am in the process of doing the same repair to my nailer. Where did you buy the o-ring kit so cheap? How did you remove the cylinder from the gun after removing the head, mine will not come out?
UPDATE: I was able to remove cylinder. Bang on the sides of air gun with hand or rubber mallet. Pull up on the cylinder with your hand, may require several attempts to loosen. There are two O-rings under the plastic insert on the cylinder that hold it in place.
Hey 805roadking I have almost the same nailgun at work and it does not work is been sitting for a few yeats at the shop if is not to much to ask how much you spend on the gasket o rings set ?? Thank you in advance buddy
Success! In watching this I am thinking of a new drinking game. Every time RoadKing says "Buddy" we all drink over here. Wonder how long I would last? LOL
Received a D51844 Type1 made in 2007. Without thinking twice, I figured the comment section would either be filled with keyboard mechanics (deriving originally from the word, "Studio-Gangster") or 1 of you's guys setting one of them fucks straight, after having actually done the work, & not just quoting directions from a manual that they'd amazingly invested the time to somehow memorize, while everybody else turning wrenches, was busy fucking pussy. And turning wrenches. I'm rambling.. Ok, I got the website for the rebuild kit, & I definitely had to mash my thumbprint in that same spot to read that laser scribe. I would've ordered the wrong kit, guaranfuckingteed. Twice. I know a real sandwich is much better, but this new sub here... You got it. Or, if it's. I dunno, I'm just uncomfortable now, & I want a sandwich. Great video man-
rule number 1 ,,, that I always observe ,,, leave the nail gun alone and build it with SCREWS ,, BIG screws rule #2 of construction ,, NEVER use PHILLIPS drive screws ,,always use star/torx drive
thats a bad nail gunning technique, if you clip the side of the board the nail will shoot past and could put somebodies eye out. best to hold against wood and then pull trigger. sorry for being a safety sally...
a nail gun to the eye is alot worse than some saw dust. its something people dont always realize so i though i would tell you. but good to see im among friends
