This is meta, darman is doing one last video featuring himself as wealthy rude boss, and he’s taking himself down as the ultimate lesson to his viewers. What dedication.
He taught us racism isn't right. He taught us misogyny is wrong. That handicapped people are handicapable and that people with autism are people too. And now, he boldly teaches us by his own example, that not paying your employees is criminal. God bless you, Dhar Mann. Edit: I was hoping people would realize I'm being sarcastic but apparently it flew over their heads lol
So this means we should be ableist, sexist, racist now right? We can’t follow his advice so should I tip a guy in a wheel chair over? Smack a waitress? Yell the n word in Compton? I’m so confused with what life is now
ok but how much money do you want for a part time job. Like what, 1 hour of work sometimes even once or twice a month? Idk what these guys are expecting to make, 30k a month to pay rent in LA because you work 5 hours a month? Even the "common" actors only reoccur once every week or so, and it's like 10 extra hours of work. this is the first take I believe is just wrong. This is literally an easy part time job. Idk, if you expect 300k a year to pay for your rent in LA because you got a part time acting job Lol. Some of these actors come on ONCE a month. You want to pay for rent in one of the most expensive cities because you work ONE TIME a fucking month? it's such an awful take to demand this much money for the ltitle work you do. You seriously expect to be paid as much of a lawyer or neurosurgeon for working ONCE a month. It's shocking how entitled some people are. I want to say, this is most actors. Steve / some of the other actors who work more than others, should be paid as much. but damn, on the "walkout" so many people are whining. This is such a hard video to sit through because the entitlement is on another level. (my numbers are exaggerated but you shouldn't be able to earn as much 3300 (avg rent in Calabasas) for like 4-5 hours of acting a month.) Speaking role actors make 33$-44$ a fucking hour. And most days you aren't working so IDK what you want to make. Like are you trying to ask for 600$ a hour or someting so after 5 hours u can make your months rent?
I worked on a Polar Express train ride production, and being an actor can be incredibly tough sometimes. Rehearsals can be demanding, especially a week before a production. So seeing these people basically upholding the channel with no pay is infuriating to see as an actor
@@fiendishbean it’s ok. And I wasn’t in the movie. Where I live we have a lot of old historic railways, so a company called Railway Productions puts on a live show on the train Course we can’t replicate everything in the movie though cuz drifting a train across a frozen lake is incredibly dangerous and we don’t have any trains near lakes
It's amazing to me that he doesn't understand that his channel _literally cannot exist without it's actors._ He straight up cannot make his content without them.
I absolutely love that he said "speaking roles pay $33-$44 an hour". First, who the hell pays actors hourly? Second, $33-$44 an hour for an acting job is dismally low unless your actors are somehow putting 40 hour weeks in every week.
I can't believe how many people are actually shocked by the fact that he's not the family friendly camp counselor he acts like normally. He was always very clearly doing this for money
I don't like the dude but he pays the speaking roles $45 a hour. That is more than 70% of jobs. Why would he hire the full time? They are contracted out because most of then are taking on other roles for other things. Of course they can't afford rent if they only feature in 2 vids a week. They work probably 25 hours a week but expect to be hired full time with a 80k salary???? Every actor in the world is contracted out. Why does he have to run his business any different? I do agree that Maybe it should be like 70 a hour but bad actors get paid what they are worth
Yes, but there was some expectancy of him at least paying his actors the amount they deserve considering how many views he gets across all platforms and how you see the same actors every other video.
@@JewJitSuSixty9 And how exactly do you know how much they're making? And it's like you didn't even watch the video or even listen to why they're protesting. They tried to talk to Dhar about getting more pay, to AT LEAST get fair salary which they're implying they're not getting, but even something as simple as that he can't do.
Literally shocked pikachu face when I heard the news. He’s obviously doing it because it’s just lucrative for him under the disguise of „helping people“(?). He was a successful businessman before, probably not because he had high morals and was so nice
To be completely honest, nothing seemed right about Dhar Mann. I always try to rap my head around the "We're not just telling stories, we're changing lives" line. How was a simple short movie gonna change our lives? He wasn't talking about us... He's the one making money off of the videos! Think about it 🤔💭
@Ori Charlie said he was on better call Saul and other big projects if you watched the video. If he can get those roles why would he continue working with dhar man and not get paid? 😂
This is basically the dhar man season finale where all the characters come together against the ultimate greedy boss that will live to regret it and deliver the ultimate message of: If a guy delivers generic moral lessons and are super family friendly, he is almost 100% a souless being.
The absolute Chad move to do here is for the actors to come together to make a Dhar Mann parody style video making a message about the very issue their facing.
Wouldn't work. It's humanly impossible to make a true Dhar Mann style video if the people creating it have a modicum of passion or genuine intent driving them.
Conspiracy Theory: Mikey from all the Dhar Mann videos is actually the ringmaster of this entire scheme, Dhar Mann is just another unpaid actor. It's all Mikey.
And don’t hold in your farts just because your husband doesn’t like it, because you’ll die. That one is my all time favourite….It’s a truly inspiring work of art 🤣😂
Well, it wasn't outright *hate* for me, but it was certainly quite a bit of vitriol as his show got worse, and I got wiser. It's Justin Roiland, not gonna sugarcoat it
they showed my whole group a dhar mann video while i was an outpatient at a mental hospital. holding in laughter while sitting in a room of suicidal teens is one of the hardest things i've ever done
I'm always weary of people like Dhar Man who are always trying to convey or portray how nice they are and how good their morals are. It gives me the feeling of "who are they trying to convince?"
if I’m being honest I watch his videos for entertainment I like things that make me cringe so bad I have to pause the video so I can talk to the imaginary camera in front of me and give my commentary
Especially when 90% of his moral lessons are weirdly problematic. The moral reasoning behind them is always just "If you do bad things, then someone with more power than you will punish you and you will be sad." It is like early childhood reasoning. The whole thing treats morality as transactional. Then each individual lesson often has ridiculously poor understandings of things like bigotry, and just frame it as a single bad person being cartoonishly bad until the rich person suddenly makes them not-a-bigot instantly. In short, this is unsurprising to me. Dhar Mann does not understand morality, and is really into authority being used as revenge, so him mistreating employees is pretty much exactly what we should expect.
I hope these Dhar Mann actors get the justice that they rightfully deserve. They shouldn't be thrown into the darkness like this without an explanation. Because of their acting, they are the main reason why he got rich!
@@josephmurphy417 it's a contract job...nobody is forcing them to sign the contract. They can refuse to accept the pay. How is he exploiting them when they agreed to the terms?
When my kid was 9, he wanted me to watch some episodes of Dhar Mann. My kid didn’t want me to watch because he liked it. He just wanted to show me how stupid Dhar Mann episodes are. I was so proud because he already knows what bullshit can look like. The irony of Dhar not treating his employees fairly while filming episodes about how to treat people is too damn awesome!
I like to imagine Dhar Mann sitting in a giant bathtub and watching this like that scene in Scarface, mumbling under his breath, "Long-Haired RU-vidr Speaks Out Against Dhar Mann..." and then he stands up dramatically and yells, "INSTANTLY REGRETS IT" while pointing at the door, and a bunch of pudgy old-timey gangsters run out to go break Charlie's kneecaps.
not only did he not pay his actors, he removed carls mural. Carl was a former "actor" at dhar Mann studios who unfortunately died maybe 2-3 years ago. it so sad that his mural is gone. They just wiped it off their life and moved on as if he wasn’t a person anymore.
ok thats diff tho, if hes legit no paying his actors what was on the contract they can literally take that to court cant they? but frm what ive seen he does pay them almost right after the work is finished
What a brave man. He understands the internet so well, and with his infinitely kind heart and the willingness to sacrifice himself he decides that he will be the villain, he will be the villain to unite us all. Truly one of the dharmann moments of all time.
It's not just about not paying people, it's about treating their hard work and time as if it's worth nothing. It's a lack of respect and a display of entitlement. The person who thinks they can get away with mistreating others in this way is not only being unethical, but they're also missing out on the satisfaction that comes from fair and honest dealings. And all of this when he earns *millions of dollars* and can absolutely afford to do so.
Lets be honest, the actors are dogshit, thats a part of the giig and the reason he gets so amny views, they dont deserve to be paid living wages for doing their shitty aacting like 1 day a week, id they dont like it they are free to leave, so i truly see no problem
I love how every time someone bases their personality on kindness and sympathy they’re outed as a lunatic, it’s almost like they’re self projecting lol
Fun fact: Dhar Mann previously got into legal trouble for defrauding Oakland "On May 17, [Dhar] Mann, now 28, was indicted on charges of defrauding the city of Oakland out of $44,000 in redevelopment grants. The Alameda County district attorney charged [Dhar] Mann with 13 felony counts, alleging that **he paid contractors who fixed up old buildings less than he told the city he had - and pocketed the difference.**" - HuffPost
