I have had type 1 diabetes since i was 2 and i went through a phase in my teen years where i wanted to just be "normal" and refused to accept my situation and i often let my sugars get so high the meter wouldn't be sble to read it which means is was well above 600 where as a normal persons stays between 80 to 120. My A1C was almost 14. I grew out if it around 23 years old and managrd to get it down to 11. my fathers health insurance that i am on hankfully got me a insulin pump and once i started taking care of myself full time i got it down to 9. The damsge sadly was already done however and i ended up having neuropathy symptoms like burning sensations in my feet and stinging needle-poking feelings in random spots on my legs. Im 24 now and my A1C js down to 7.7 last i heard but i still have the nerve damage. My doctors have said they have never seen s person as young as me with neuropathy this bad. I am currently in the process of getting a neural stimulator surgically implanted in my spine that will dull the pain receptors in the effected areas. I had a test version done last week and it worked great. everyone said i was noticeably walking better and i was more energetic and upbest than they've seen me in years. Moral of the story guys take your health seriously and if you have a condition as serious as diabetes, dont mess around with it and understand that the medical technology we have in our modern world works miracles and is only gonna get better as time passes. Dont think you cant live a normal life because you absolutely can. i also just wanted to say sll this to let everyone know that neuropathy is extremely painful and is at times dabilitating. When i was still working at my old restaurant job ad a cook (i work from home now thank god) i was often groaning in agony and would sometimes go into the walk in freezer and bawl my eyes out because the pain was that bad and i knew i still had bills to pay so i felt trapped and also felt bad because i could tell alot of my co workers didnt understand and thought i was faking it to be lazy. I dont blame them. They likely didn't know what nerve damsge was like for people who have it and they sre people struggling to get by same as me and i was essentially a liability. Dont under estimate the pain someone with it is going through because it js a horrible thing to live with.
I recommend having Exome Sequencing testing of your DNA before getting the neural stimulator installed just to be sure of any underlying genetic issue.
I have neuropathy too, I don’t think your coworkers would understand what is because it’s an invisible disease so people will always accuse you being lazy, unhealthy habits etc. and non of that is true with type 1. When I got diagnosed I was plying basketball and was in the best shape of my life and it felt like a ghost came out of nowhere and slapped me in the face, by the way my pumps beeping is going to make my head explode again
As someone that has just passed the 50 year mark with type 1 Diabetes, I did not find any useful information either. If you or anyone else here feels pain or burning sensations, I would suggest 250mg of Benfotiamine daily. It is a fat soluable vitamin B1. It took about 8 weeks before I noticed, but the burning sensations in my feet have completely disappeared.
@@georgebalzer8219 I’m 22 years old and been having Type 1 for 5 years but having been on and off with high blood sugars my feet, hands and even lips burn. I usually get the sensation when I’m working in the morning cause I having 300+ sugars with the dawn phenomenon effect. What do you recommend take B1 daily or benfotiamine, (Alpha Lippic Acid)?
@@steveorozco4843 I would recomend getting your fasting blood sugars lowered. This is the most difficult part of Diabetes to control. I have found that if i snack less in the evenings and take more long acting insulin (I weigh 140lbs and take 20 units of Toujeo) then my blood sugars are close to normal in the mornings. The sensations you are talking about sound to me to be symptoms of low blood sugar (reactions), rather than Neuropathy.
Of course l have diabetes too which l do have nerve damage from that and also carpal tunnel syndrome pinched nerves autoimmune diseases all kinds of stuff please explain! Thank you for sharing this information and for your time 🙏🇺🇸
@@Elsa-v5t Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition, not diet-related. Type 2 has genetic and lifestyle factors, not just about food. Sickness is beyond our control most of the time. One day, you may find yourself in those shoes.
@@ironwood9 diabetic neuropathy is a type of peripheral neuropathy that is directly caused by diabetes, whereas peripheral neuropathy has multiple potential causes.
Peripheral Neuropathy: Peripheral comes from the Greek word “around.” Neuro comes from the Greek word “nerve.” Pathy comes from the Greek word “pathos” that means affliction or condition It means “Around Nerve Affliction/Condition”
I’m not diabetic, but I have neuropathy. The symptoms are extreme pain entire body, but mainly in eyeballs, and inner earlobe (places impossible to itch).
Unfortunately, due to a foot injury, I now have to deal with this. I just happen to also be diabetic, with uncontrolled sugar. So I'm sure that added to the problem.

All of a sudden and out of the blue, I'm experiencing severe pain in my elbow area on one arm, and severe pain in my shoulder area on the other arm. This has been going on for almost 3 months. Is this a sign of something? The pain is not going away.
I have feet pain and also feel tingling and burning sensation but I don't have diabetes but in November I diagnosed with pre diabetes,no who do I know I have diabetic neuropathy or not?
Pre-diabetes really means you have a mild case of diabetes which doesn’t yet require insulin shots. Speaking from experience, you are headed for big trouble if you don’t cut down on your carbs and sugar, (and lose weight if you are overweight.) Pre-diabetes causes a boat load of damage over time.
Can anyone tell me... if we consider 100 people's suffer from type 2 diabetes than how many of them reverse their diabetes. and all proceed with low carb diet, regular exercise, and medication.
Diabetes can't be eliminated, as the pancreatic beta cells are permanently damaged, it can be only "treated" with insulin. Pre-diabetes can be treated and eliminated. A low carb diet, regular exercise, and medication are the main (and long-term) lifestyle changes that have to be made.
I'd like to add a bit more info - type 1 diabetes is hereditary and more common in younger adults, teens and kids. Type 2 is metabolic and is more common in older people. Both require the same treatment, the same applies to pre-diabetes
You can reverse type 2 diabetes atleast 60 to 80 percent of people can not always is it just the pancreas it can simply be your body holding to much suger from the extra weight your body is holding to much fat in the body we only need carbs from vegetables and mainly leafy greens stick to a 700 hundred to 900 hundred calorie diet high protein low carbs mainly from none refined carbs loosing weight can help bring your sugers down plenty of youtube vids on it just type reversing type 2 diabetes
Sorry. Have any of the symptoms changed? I had a really bad and hurt my right foot really bad. It took 7 days for the pain to go down but the sharp pain I experience on the outside of my 1 foot is brutal "only 1 side has an issue " . I'm on my feet all day 18 hrs as caregiver and just keep on trucking. Color on foot is all back to normal too
@@hoots02 I have insoles from a podiatrist and got a cortisone shot. Those have helped, but it is now summer here & I wonder if heat is helping. I’m sorry for your pain. I have a desk job, so sitting a lot.

I'm 41 years old, type 1 diabetic. I have neuropathy occuring in the middle of my right foot. It's numb.... Please tell me there's a way to reverse it. I don't want to live like this any longer 😥😭
Im sorry man. Im 24 and in the exact same boat. I recommend doing what i did and am still doing. First, get a pain management doctor or consult your primary doctor about getting a neural stimulator put in you. I am in the orocess of it and it has completely got rid of my pain. It essentially dulls those pain receptors. It might be a little pricy but hopefully you can set up a payment plan or have decent insurance. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I don't often meet anyone who understands my situation.
@@Xena-xp7lythe R-alpha lipoic acid did wonders for me, but I take it with berberine (and vit B complex!). I can sleep again. No more burning. It’s not completely gone, but LOTS better!
@@JimmyStruthers1000 it triggers nerve growth in the body. I would recommend going low sugar before using lions mane, no point in regrowing nerves if you're just going to obliterate them again.
