Listening to "H is for Hawk" audio book now. Fantastic, especially being read by the author! A vivid journey into a world that us city folk had no idea existed, intertwined with deep introspection on life and family. Thanks for the trip.

I am reading it now. It is absolutely stunning. It is such an emotional rollercoaster I can't read more than a dozen pages at a sitting. It also got me thinking about childhood passions that are out of the mainstream - as I had. There is no one to share the excitement of finding new tidbits of information, though she shared hers with her father. In my case I was lost in the solitary nature of y interest. Although that interest died just a few years ago after a 50 year imertion, it carried over into every part of my life. I don't share with anyone. All my life's experiences are ine alone. If I had one wish, it would be to be able to write like Helen does just sothat I could release all of this that I carry inside.

Ohhh Helen, how I wish we could meet and talk falconry! (I live in Maine) Just came across this video and I'm loving every second of it! I may be behind but I'm gonna get your book. So splendid!

since writing H is for HAWK... Helen MacDonald has a lot of travel opportunities that has provided "ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE of her writing the book... INTERVIEW by MANY people... MACDONALD has become a "BOOK STAR" Soooo Maaamy Reeeadders!!📙🔖😉.. as 4 me.. 2017 found her book in my local library... also the MOVIE which she MENTIONS in the CHICAGO interview... H is for HAWK... a INTERESTING "READ"... become MY DISCOVERY😉📙

I have not read H is for Hawk yet, but I have just finished "Cool North Wind".

I'm reading H is for Hawk for the second time, years in between. Only now do I fully realise how man is using animals for his/her insufficiency... always trying to improve one's own image on the expense of the animal and its natural habitat, this one we destroy also for the same reason I think. If only people could realise that attention unfocused and free will fulfil the mind, once it is freed from selfish psychological needs and dependencies

The human animal bond and the healing expression space it creates still reflects from a place of mystery ,, today there are a lot of researchers who are now trying to decipher the underlying source code that explains this , but you take the examples spoken of here,,then speak to indigenous peoples of Mongolia who have had this bond going back well over 500 years and listen to there story's ,, look at story's like the Horse Boy ,, or the profound response of people living with PTSD and bringing a new relation or expression circle into there life ,, sharing ones life with them also involved looking at the world through an new pair of eyes . artistic examples.. The transformation song film from brother bear, or better yet ,, I "see" you ,, and many other symbolic references from James Cameron's Avatar..
