Great video can I just ask who insured your car ? I have a 1.8t 20v that was mine I’m passing on to my son who as 2 years no clams but is still getting prices of around £2000 any advice would be great 👍
He looks so cool driving lying down. In fact he should swap his car seats for beds. I imagine his drag time would be a second quicker if he could reach the pedals.
Im a van driver, the amount of time I've had to dis people laying down when driving. They feel its cool, but dont notice when they take the bend they way off the lines. Even on a straight lol cant seem to drive in the lane.
Was already a Calvin fan but I love the man even more after this, the way he didn’t talk down to the young lad and was on his level and encouraging him, might only be a small thing but shows the type of guy Calvin is
That is not the DQ250 mate, the DQ250 is a 6speed wet clutch and the the polo gti 1.8 have the 7speed DQ200 dry clutch and there is a reason why the auto only have 250nm and the manual have 320nm, the DQ200 is only rated to maximum 250nm.
@@J4Z666 Arms are supposed to be 35-40 degrees bent so that you have full control when turning the wheel with hands at 10-2. His point was about safety, not comfort.
@@1993j If he was involved in an accident his insurance can refuse to pay out due to lack of control, I think we've all been there thinking it looks cool but in reality you look a wee bit silly 🤣 Nice little gti though
Seems like a really nice lad and reminded me of me in the early eighties lol Glad you didn’t talk down to him , we’ve all been there at some point in our own personal car journeys Not the sort of thing I usually watch let alone comment on but you both have my utmost respect. ❤❤
The mileage issue could be like what happened with my bike where they accidentally flicked the clocks over to KM when they check dash lights etc, 29k km would be around 18/19k miles
Awesome Calvin, I've just subscribed to his channel. The young lad had a heart of gold and his mum helped with his steering wheel...you couldn't make that up....lol, that was me 40 years ago .... Am retired now and still love cars ❤️
Nice one Calvin & Ben. I appreciate the way you give your time to this aspect for the channel. It's great content and shows real people from a real world, it's the people that make the cars interesting. Sub'd to Ben's channel also, good luck Ben!
Bro Calvin have great respect for you, your always speaking to everyone with great respect & always encouraging everyone. In return Calvin you've got everyone's respect & love for you & that young lady is going to go a long way absolutely stunning Polo with every mod he has made.
You can plug the car into a computer and cross check what the gearbox is saying the millage is as its stored on that separately so they should both match.
You need to use a code reader like the carly code reader as it checks all the control modules which store milage separate to the main ecu. That's the easiest way of checking.
Had one of these almost identical but a manual 3 door. Great cars! Should’ve turned ESC off for the dragy runs though. Mine was 35k ish and whilst the seat bolster wasn’t as bad it was definitely getting there so I think mileage adds up. Lower foam section however was pretty weak and soft. Would recommend getting a manual stage 3 on the channel they are a handful!! Great vid
There is a big problem with people taking out low mileage PCH and doing high mileage, then having "mileage correction" carried out. They return them to lease companies with the low mileage, sell at auction, and dealers buy from auction. That seating position though.... questionable
We need a day in the life of Calvin video would be awesome to see what you get up to In a full day even down to when you find time to eat between deals.👌
Not watched the videos regularly in like 2 years but this was nice. I see you still got Arthur's Golf R I believe because I remember the plate :D Seems like a good guy and very much into the car culture but idk about the driving position 😅
I work at a garage and twice now the distance travelled has been put in as kilometres instead of miles. One was the Polish owner who had it set as KM and our tester didn’t notice, the other we think the tester accidentally switched to KM when checking. I’d say that is what’s gone wrong here. Sadly, it cannot be changed! Clocking usually occurs before the first MOT anyway so that’s why it is absolutely vital to buy with FSH from a main dealer to minimise the risk.
The seats suffer the same as the MK2 Golf seats, fat arses and lots of getting in and out kills the fabric on the bolsters. Find someone local with VCDS (the Polo Owners Club can help) and check the millage, while you are there get any options unlocked that are still missing on the car.
Fancy a stage 1 cupra (280) dsg on the channel? youve had a crazy one with the 4WD conversion and your stock one, would be cool to see how it compares to your golf too and other competitors with just a stage 1 tune.
Nice ride.. I owned a 1.4T polo gti full house beautiful pocket rocket.. Down fault of those cars is the dsg gearbox I repaired mine twice after the 2nd repair I SOLD IT with out regret.. The seat issue mine was suede with leather getting in the car & out you do tear that side by the door my leather was worn off that side
Cool kid and nice car but please don't drive like a plant pot with your seat flat 🤦♂️ putting your self at risk kid, can clearly your struggling driving 😀
It is possible to get mileage off the ECUs memory. Yes you can clock it and hide is as much as you want but there is a hard sorted “true” mileage in the ECU itself you can’t adjust, change, or code out. Volkswagen itself can access it or you could yourself with lastest vcds. Hpi checks or whatever will tell you nothing on any car and it’s virtually pointless for that purpose. Always plug into ECU with appropriate software to let you read stored memory
Hes a good lad heads screwed on I have the same car 2017 plate in black running around 250bhp 400lbs torque straight piped lovely cars nippy aswell I can do 0-60 in around 5.5-5.7 seconds 👍💯
Good on him, its nice to have a young lad with interests in modding and cars in general, he seems quite clued up!, kind of reminds me of myself when i was younger. Hopefully you will get your RS3 soon👍
Hey Calvin, being a relatively new car you can find out the mileage from a vag specialist who has VCDS, if not order you're own. It's fairly simple how to spot it by checking the ECU estimated mileage, if ECU original that is no way you can adjust ecu working hours=mileage estimate with the mileage displayed on the dashboard. Hopefully you get to read this comment and ask VRS to investigate this, pretty sure they know how to.
BMW main dealer added 20K miles to my 440i in June…! I noticed when I got home and checked VOSA website. Called them straight away and they changed it. Shows that mistakes can easily be made by dealers/MOT garages.
Yeah I reckon the 19k was supposed to be 29k but they typed it in wrong. Very unfortunate but a lovely car none the less, I love the spirit of the owner, he will go very far 😊
Ive got the same issue with mileage on my vauxhall insignia what I bought from a main dealer who did the 1st mot on it but when you check it on a car check it shows different reading 😢
What tends to happen is female drivers tend to drive with the seat 90 degrees and all the way upto the steering wheel then don't slide the seat back to get out causing excessive bolster wear seen it many times before. Some people are more careless than others aswel to some a cars a car A to B thing to others its much much more, so we tend to care for our cars that much more.
