Well we’ve ran into some problems with the Ecoboost. I go over the issues at hand and the tear down of the engine to fix everything. Don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe!

Hmmmm check fuel system and the injectors... I know sound weird but I had a issues not long ago where the fuel injectors went bad. .. fuel fouled (wet plugs) car was stumbling and finally quit.. engine was flooded.

Typical the cylinder that is taking in coolant will have a brand new looking piston top. You're engine is extremely clean. I was surprised to see no carbon build up. How did the intake ports look?? Definitely check you're fuel system. Also, with studs and a head gasket you are destined to find a new weak link, so stay cautious.

1st engine blown head gasket next 2 engines blew up while driving normal I do have ford performance tune but there's nothing to fix the ecoboom I can drive faster in my expedition than my mustang ,, garbage

My ecoboost will stutter a little bit after getting fuel sometimes from different gas stations. But it goes away after a lil while. I got new plugs already and it’s stock.

This isn't a fair comparison to a stock eco-boost. People watch this shit and think this is what's going to happen to stock eco and it's as far from the truth as it gets.

If your car is a 2015, one important thing to race professionally in the NHRA is you turbo inlet can’t be 2mm larger than stock. You also have an open deck. You might want to have your block machined to accept a deck plate. There are now better high pressure fuel pumps out there. My 2015 build is over $100,000 as of 2022.

Head gasket is damaged. You must be using a 93 octane tune. That’s about 400hp. The stock block is at its limit as well as the axles. The axles have scoring mark where it designed to break safely.

It’s not an updated block. The updated ones don’t have the slot between cylinders. Mine also had the same problem.

Whichever makes you happy. If you get a 4 banger I can give you some pointers on how to gap bolt on coyotes😉

v8 if it's an option for ya. This is coming from an Ecoboost owner. I love my EB, but the v8 would be my ideal choice.

First Mustang? Well what do you want from it? The Ecoboost is a reliable engine if you run premium fuel, SN+ oil (stick with Ford oil) and you keep up on the maintenance. Get an extended warranty and and enjoy great power and Fuel economy. The car is light and fun to drive. You will be making more power and getting better fuel economy then the V8's of the yesteryear's (4.6/5.0 ohv). There are plenty of mods if you want more, but if you do...I would recommend a GT 5.0. It really comes down to price and what you want. Trust me... there is always someone with a better car, more money and who knows more.

I got a question for yeah hopefully you can help. I still have the same misfire cyl 1 issue and I can’t get it fixed, I’ve replaced the spark plugs 3 times and swapped the coil packs around and I’ve had a compression test done and everything is healthy as of that.

How many miles did you drive your car with the oil leaking at the front of the engine ? I have the same problem and need to get it fixed. I just see a little bit moisture just like oil on the engine. Do I have to get it done asap or is it fine to drive the car for a while ?

Mankunwar Singh i know people who have been driving it for 50,000 miles like that. If it’s not leaving a puddle under the car then I wouldn’t worry too much about it

I understood the problem when I heard the word "tune".........don't use tuners unless you are prepared to replace the engine, if the engine could withstand that added stress Ford would have found a way to do it and sell the engine at a higher HP rating.

I think mine has a blown head gasket. I’m losing coolant over a week period, and I’m getting missing at fire up, with white smoking at first fire up. I replaces the evap line and the low preside sensor, but didn’t fix it.

You didn’t do a compression test, leak down test and check the coolant for exhaust gasses for blown head gasket signs?

Ok my bad broski I don’t think you mentioned it in the video, just that you checked plugs, tune, and used a borescope and saw what you thought was coolant

How did you remove your crank pulley? I can’t get my impact in there. I might have to remove the fans, to access it. I’m just curious on how you did it. I’m pulling my head also. I’m having an issue with cylinder 4. When car is warm it runs fine, but I’m loosing coolant slowly and it always starts on 3 cylinders. I have had 2 over revs and FBO with nx2. So warranty is out of the question. I’m in the same boat you were in never pulled a cylinder head b4 and have no one to lean to for advice lol. Cheers

maybe it time to close deck the block and further brace the side walls of the 2.3L block? my friends Evo 8 4G63 engine because of bad injectors foul up cylinder 2 and 3. The spark plugs were wet and smell of petrol when pulled out it interesting to see the intake blades of the turbo get chipped off like it ingested small rocks chips check the intercooler to see if any metal bits went into it also def need to check the cylinder walls for scruff marks or tiny holes. This may indicate piston slap

Susan Stone It was Cobb stage 3 with a MAP INTERCOOLER, A BORLA CATTED DOWN-PIPE, and an air raid intake tube. I’m pretty sure I stopped at a bad gas station. The thing said 93 but next time I got into boost it destroyed my #4 piston and sent it out the bottom and sides of the block.

You would have to expect problems from a 4 cylinder running 11`s. Race cars get maintenance after every event.

Did you any diagnosis of this car? Pr just pull the head? Did you look at your fuel trim to see what was happening when it stumbled? You should have daya logged it before just yanking head. Unless you were losing coolant too

chad six coolant loss, running rough, heavy negative corrections(knock), leak down test had some decently high numbers. I should have explained myself and my reasoning better in the video

All turbos have play side to side. Oil pressure centers the shaft when running. In out play is no tolerance allowable

Hope you have forged internals...you cannot throw heavy mods at these cars without something breaking. The stock turbo makes up to 16 psi of boost depending on temp. and conditioner. If your cylinders are soaking...blown head!

You have to get a Precision Turbo NX2 at this point! There's no other way to do it. :D

gt 2300 has nothing to do with Adams tunes lol. Any car being pushed as hard as mine would be subject to these issues. Find me a PD tuned car with stock motor and turbo going 11.6 or faster. You won’t.

So with an intercooler, downpipe , with full exhaust, air raid tube , also have 3.73 gears ,oil catch can and an tune to run 93 its gonna blow my shit ? Currently running premium 91 . Just want an little more kick but dont expect anything crazy . But it's this an good set up ?

@@oHypBasto I have all that but running 91 octane cus we're I live they don't carry it . And tbh I hate how the cobbs tune feels . I don't know much but from what I can see and research it's just wet garbage. Hoping to get tune by pd or someone else .

@@CoyoteDAworld Yeah definitely don't load those off-the-shelf cobb tunes they are a good way to go eco boom! Custom tune and if you can do it they also offer transmission tuning which seems like a nice improvement.

@@oHypBasto yeah I haven’t downloaded the off the shelf ones but I’m running there 91 octane stage 1 . I being monitoring it and it’s not causing issues but I don’t push the car knowing how bad that tune is . Hopefully I’ll get it tune soon . I really won’t drive it much till then

Sounds like pretty much all ecoboosts are having major issues. Makes me feel like I shouldn't get one. I want one, but I need it to be reliable and not blow up. They seem to all blow up.

Gary Urban extreme stumbling under low rpm and light load. Started clearing up as I got on the throttle

Hi Zach, I used to be an auto mechanic and did alot of engine work, especially on overhead cam 4 cylinders. I would cover the front top of the oil pan, to preclude dropping anything down there. Also, after you clean up the cylinder block mating surface, be sure to put a straight edge across it, and use feeler gauges, to check for any block distortion, probably the machine shop will do that to your cylinder head. Have you looked at having your turbo rebuilt? You said no. 2 cylinder was wet. Was it oil? I have a 2018 Ecoboost, but haven't had it apart yet. Best of luck. Those 11.60s are impressive. What's your best 60' time?

Usually happens when you get a 4 cylinder and start tuning and trying to make it run like a V8. They are good engines when used as they are designed. You can break any engine!

Yes.. PD tuned 11.2 1\4 Mile on e40 335 nozzle 70 30 meth spray Do the math 14.7 x 28 psi on stock block living in the N.w makes a big difference..
