Jocelyn is not outside the family. Jocelyn was Aemon's young aunt. She's Jaeherys and Alysanne's sister through Alyssa's third marriage to Rogar Baratheon.

It certainly looks like it to me. His manner of death suggests he may have been poisoned, and the Maesters certainly would be prime suspects!

It's always struck me as interesting that the show adapted the story so that Otto's firing was the result of Viserys' belief that Otto was behind Baelon's death, yet Viserys still gives Otto his job back. That makes zero sense. Great video Grease!

It could have been gallbladder or appendix, though appendix would likely have been quicker than that. But it feels too simple for that to be the answer.

It sounds like he may have died ftom peritonitis, you can linger for a few days if it is not treated.

Why is it 'brave' to smack a dragon on his face just for being a dragon? In my way of thinking-real dickish move, that. Not so much brave as it was rude AF. Lucky for Baelon that Balerion wasn't the asshole that Baelon in that moment or he would have been coined as "Baelon the Baked." And isn't it straaaange , how Alyssa's intial instict was to bond with Balaerion and how she is convinced to resist that bond due to Balerion's age, etc? Through a bond with Alyssa, Balerion would have once again been bonded to someone who is married to the person bonded to Vhaegar. Thinking of these things make me see that punch to the nose a lot like Tyrion getting his nose cut off...nobody knows why it happened, it just did-out of the Blue. It is interesting to me, my brain says something here is happening, even though I do not yet know what that something is entirely. If the garbage reasons given for Alyssa to NOT bond with Balerion were actually valid, then Viserys never goes on to bond with Balerion as Balerion was older than when Alyssa is given those lie-as reasons. Totally suspicious-outright shade throwing, that.
