There seems to be quite a bit of confusion online about this subject....and there shouldn't be.
Normal feathers lay flat and are barbed. The individual filaments of the feathers interlock to form a smooth surface.
Silkie feathers are furry. They are not barbed. The individual filaments of the feathers do not stick together and the birds appear fluffy. This is a simple recessive genetic mutation.
Frizzled feathers are curly. They are barbed but they curl outwards and upwards. This is a simple dominant mutation. The only word of caution is that you really shouldn't breed two frizzled birds together, regardless of the breed.
Showgirls have naked necks. This really doesn't affect the feather structure at all, just the coverage. The necks are naked and there are generally less feathers on the rest of the body. This is also a simple dominant mutation.
Any of these mutations can be combined...and my very favorite is the combination of all three
