I started keeping journals at age 8. Ever since then, I've kept notebooks of one type or another. In this video, I talk about what I've tried. Some things didn't work well for me, but others have proven worth the effort. I discuss them all here.

I'm an avid notebook keeper/journaller. I've tried all kinds of specialized notebooks, but what works best for me is just keeping it all in one place. (That said, I do manage appointments and reminders digitally.) I have historically also not enjoyed my drawing/doodling skills, and Lynda Barry's books were life-changing for me, especially Syllabus and How to Draw. I'm currently in another "visual slump" and am back to just writing, but I'm much freer about sketching and doodling in my notebooks. My favorite "genre" of notebook-writing I do is silly lists. I'll often combine 2-3 lists together with one title, alternating entries for all three, so something like "Places to Go This Summer, Girls' Names I Like, and Books I Want to Read Someday". It's silly, but it never fails to make me smile when I come across one that Past Me wrote.

I love your idea for keeping lists in groups! It sounds like fun. I also imagine it would be a good creative prompt for other writings. I've tried Lynda Barry, I loved Syllabus. I even tried to keep the notebook she required for a while. How to Draw sounds like a good one, too. Thank you so much for sharing your journal experiences with me.!

I tried to keep a notebook of my thoughts and feelings but gave up as it was full of carping and complaining. Now my notebooks are full of quotations. I am happy with that.

I very much enjoyed learning about the evolution of your notebooks over time. As you can guess from my avatar, I found the squirrel notebook particularly appealing. I think I’ve mentioned previously that I kept all my spy notebooks, i.e. the notebooks I wrote after reading “Harriet the Spy” and imagining myself as an amateur sleuth. They’re hilarious. I jot down ideas in notebooks but with no real order or plan. I consider myself very fortunate that many years ago, I was hired on-the-spot for my dream job after submitting several of these ideas to a future employer!

It’s also the same publication for general public , while journal for academic or technical audience.the definition of journal is record or what you have done or description or thoughts, written each day of frequently over long period , diary . It’s also means personal place where you can express and jot down your thoughts , feelings, joy , anger , despair , depression, love , sadness. There are tips for writing journal such as write every day , make it easy keep pen and paper handy all time , write or draw whatever feel it’s right , use your journal as you feel fit . Journaling can help you develop your writing voice . There are two types of journal specialty and general .several Kinds of journals food , gratitude, travel , bullet journal is popular journaling type serving as planner and helping you organize personal aspects of your life including lists of goals , milestones.

Last part of my research there are famous journal writers Virginia Woolf I go out this doors and read as one always does read own writing with kind of guilty intensity . Ralph Waldo Emerson in the aforementioned saving bank Emerson wrote I find my self often idle , vagrant, stupid and hollow. Most companies have special journals as sales , purchase , cash disbursements, cash recipients. Thank you for giving us chance to read learn new information improve our English as well . Actually we in Arabic countries when were kids there are special children magazine and adult magazine too . As I read first American magazine debuted in 1741 .
