You are all looking into this song too hard! He's just having fun! '96 has nothing to do with it. My friend and I have nothing to do with the titles we have. We just make epic jams, to jam. Enjoy the song, don't look too far into it. The song is perfect the way it is! DO NOT tell an artist, "the notes aren't perfect" etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Just enjoy what was on his mind!
Didn't even know about this one til today. Only found Chapter 19 this week. Like discovering Forest spent a season in the Prem in the last 20 years that no-one else remembers, sweeeeeet 😁
@rudebwoybutler Thats what I'm talking about mate. THATS the dillinja SOUND!! Check "Warrior", "Baby Your" and "Deadly Ceremonies". DANGEROUS, but with a vibe.
beatiifull symthony i think you could run the track on that 64 or 32 but drop different raps contextes in thats my view dijjinaja underradar sound meenan boom
@MrNutana ahhh it aint that bad if you ask me...his newer stuff sucks badly though compared to this....but this one could still tear the floor off. The vocals give it a bit more of a unique flavour to it...especially starting 3:00 onward to the end.
@shwimk I remember those days too, but it dont sound anything like a 96 thing at all. Thats just the title man, it dont mean anything. Its just another example of what happened to Dillinja's sound AFTER the 90's. Its not a TERRIBLE track, but if you compare it to his ACTUAL 90's tunes, then it just sounds whack. Having said that, I CAN actually listen to this tune LOL.
This aint a 96 thing. A 96 thing is a Dilly tune from 96. Take most of his tunes from 93 to 96, and then compare them to most (if not ALL) of his tunes from 2000-2012. Pretty much all the newer shit, is shit. Simple as that. I fucking love the Dillinja sound, or what it used to be anyway. Ever since Test & Valve recordings, everything just went WHACK, and it AINT just cos of the technology. Its because when jungle "commercially" died, most of the pioneers were forced to make shit like we get now
1st time I've heard this. Last time I'm listening to it. I've got tons of early Dilly. He remains one of the GOAT jungle / DnB producers, but......this is shit. And it ain't a '96 thing at all, lol.
i just listened to cybotron light years and then clicked on this track. sorry but this track is terrible. its like he took all the shit from happy hardcore and drum and bass and crapped this out. dnb really went down after 1996. Lucky for me i took refuge in the psytrance scene during the late 90's and 00's.
+russelledwards001 Strange you had that experience with this track yet i found this by accident while thumbing through the jungle in HMV. Banged it on the listening booth turntable and pretty much started hardstepping in the store shouting " HEY!! HEY! BO!! BO!!" and bought it, took it home and double dropped it with just about every other banger i had! Funny how a single tune can have such different emotions for the listener!
@MrNutana.... but I have to agree...Dillinja seriously fucked up the notes in this tune...overdone with the bass. It's the new Technology that fucks up tunes the way they are if you ask me. So many possibilities with new technology that makes producers write music in a different and more dynamic way.
Sorry but this is awful, Dillinja back between 93-97 was untouchable. Check Deadly deep subs, sovereign melody and deep love for a lesson in how he used to roll it out
