I feel like nobody real covers her case so thank you because her case keeps me up at night. I feel the person who took was the same person who gave her the flowers.
This case always scared the hell out of me (thanks, Unsolved Mysteries), and this update absolutely breaks my heart. You got a big shout-out on the podcast Trace Evidence with Stephen Pacheco. I would have missed this series but for the podcast. Anthonette isn't that much younger than I am. I truly hope she's out there, safe and well now, and maybe she can feel she can come forward to receive the open arms of her remaining family.
Thank you for telling Anthonette's story. She deserved so much better, and I hope that her family gets closure soon. Would you cover the disappearance of Asha Degree? She went missing in 2000 from North Carolina, and witnesses reported seeing her walking along a rural highway in the middle of the night.
Buying a 9-Year-old flowers and having her sitting on he's lap that is not normal and is known as grooming, I'd be looking right at Emo that's ForeSure. It's not right he's behavior is disturbing.
Absolutely! That's just weird. And then they just have no idea where she went or who she went with? Probably this guy bringing flowers to a 9 year old or whoever he brought her to, would be my guess.
***I understand these stories will bring out frustrations and anger but I ask that you keep in mind that Penny still has two daughters who are going through a lot with this case. Sadie was 7 when her sister disappeared. Wendy was only 5. They were both small children and have lived through a lot for the past three decades. They may read these comments too...and I would hate for negative, unnecessary comments to trigger them. We welcome comments, questions and even your opinions on the case..but please keep the rest of the family in mind when doing so. If I do come across any comments I feel are hurtful towards the surviving family they will be deleted. Our main goal is to help bring in more tips for the family. Thank you for your support.***
Thank you. Yes people don't realize that their comments hurt. Wendy is my sister (best friend) my mom considered her as a daughter. 🙏🙏 be considerate before you comment
Thank you so much for covering this case. Anthonette is one of those cases that needs to be out there more. Her case has stayed with me ever since I read about it in a college forensic psychology class. There’s so much disclosed in this documentary that was not known to the public and my mind is blown. I truly wanted to believe that Penny didn’t have anything to do with Anthonette’s disappearance, and that the cops blamed her as a scapegoat for their failures in investigating her case properly. but now i think my mind might be changing. When will part 2 be published?
I really thought that after this interview, Anthonette herself would come forward, but she hasn’t. I still haven’t given up hope that she might be alive. 🤞🏽
It's sad. I related to Antoinette because of how similar our upbringing were. My parents drank an partied alot as a kid and I was the one who normaly watched my little sister. My parents also covered up different types of abuses committed against my sister and I over many years. I ended up estranged and painted as crazy while my sister is silenced by alcohol. I hope there's a justicein the afterlife. Sometimes I think my parents will never be held accountable like hers and it makes me violently sick inside. I'm not perfect but if you knew the road I took to get to today. You would see I always chose the lesser of two evils.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, I know it cannot be easy. We are hoping that someone will call in a tip that could help solve this case and bring Anthonette home...and someone will be held accountable for her disappearance.
To be honest I think back then alot alot parents had their oldest child watching the other children. I know countless black families who done this. Both my parents are sheriffs and my mother done this since I was about 8 years old. I think it's a consequence of certain times and if a parent was a single mother at the time. Which my step father didn't come till I was about 12.
Those are terrible memories to have to think about and I am so sorry for what you and your little sister must have suffered at the hands of the people you're suppose to trust most in this world in a home where you should feel safest of all. Children are not asked to be brought into this world. They deserve to have the best possible start in life before they go out into the world. I wish I could give you the biggest hug for taking such good care of your sister. Your parents have to live w/the poor choices they made. They cannot escape it. You, on the other hand chose to show compassion and to protect your sister and you were the child!!! No child should have to play the role of an adult because their parents won't. You're very brave to have talked briefly about something you shouldn't have had to go through. I wish you peace in your life. You deserve to be happy. And thank you for being the best big sister.💓⭐🌼
Well what if you uncovered about the Elmo person what did he do for work when she went missing? Who was he associated with it might be one of his family members the woman have you gone back to that time frame to research that man where he lived what did he do for work where did he go who knew him etc? Were they able to figure out where the 911 call came from?
She is like us a missing sister to us all...Thank you for digging deeper into this...God willing the community gets some answers...Emo needs to be questioned...Why cant the FBI follow up with Emo?? Penny made a confession...Aren't you supposed to have shrines for dead loved ones? She already had one up
It truly is a heartbreaking case. Again, we dont the extent of Penny's possible involvement. Our goal of releasing the information is to hopefully spark a memory for someone who knows what happened and that could lead to a critical tip needed to help bring Anthonette home. Thank you for your support.
I saw that episode of Unsolved Mysteries when I was home alone @ 8 years old and I’ve thought about Antoinette ever since. That was almost 25 years ago… i come back to see if there’s any new information every once in a while. I hope she’s ok. Imagine if these details had been included in that original broadcast 💔 it’s a crime that they didn’t do a proper investigation of this case
Holy crap. I'm from the area, and this case breaks my heart. I remember it from the early 90s. Thanks for bringing this back up to light. Someone has to know and has to come forward!!
We used to live in that neighborhood in Gallup. Rough part of town. We moved out of there just before this happened. I was a senior in H,S. back then. Prayers to her family. Interesting to learn where this has progressed. Thank you for your work Crystal.
I hope you were able to watch part 2 - its been uploaded for about a week now. I will also be uploading another video today answering some questions we have received about the case. Thank you for your support and thank you for watching.
Fresh eyes on a case of possible drug trade sad all witness never got license plate number of vehicles. My thoughts the missing dog was a way keep child quiet.
We don't believe the missing dog case had anything to do with Anthonette's disappearance. We do believe that search happened. What the search does for the investigation, is narrow down the time frame of when Anthonette could have gone missing. Since the search began around 6:30am, that would mean people would be out, walking around the neighborhood, and would have heard a scream or maybe would have seen something suspicious. Why would Penny's boyfriend tell police Anthonette might have gone...that's a question I don't have an answer for.
Also I forgot to mention my other idea it's already solved but would like to know more about what took place. Rita jaramillo I went to high school with her rode the same bus, when she went missing it did something to the whole town. The person responsible should have done more time in my opinion. Thank you for the work you are doing!❤
Crystal, I wanted to mention that they say Anthonette’s call is 40 seconds long but people only have access to 29 seconds, why is that ??? Did the police give you the full 40 seconds? I would really like to know, also good job to you and Lewis in this case, you guys are amazing 🤩
Hi, yes...we do know that the 911 call is much longer. We actually answer this question in a video that I am uploading today. Thank you for watching and for your support.
Sadie looks so much like Penny 😮 I remember seeing this case on UM when I was a kid idk why but Penny gave off a vibe like she knew something. I guess it's just us Natives we have a sixth sense about stuff like this at least I do anyways. My BF said I should have been a cop or a lawyer because I just point out who's guilty when it's a inside job. I'm always correct 💯
Her sisters were 7 and 5 at the time. I'm also metis and know those kids knew nothing about the disappearance of their sister. What little they did know, they shared..
Hey! Love your show! I wanted to give you an idea for a show...I have ALWAYS wondered if there was more to the Tara calico than what the police were saying, and I still wonder about her. Her mom never new what happened and she passed without knowing where her daughter was. 😢
I’ve heard that there is or was a possible suspect and that they have managed to put a timeline to the events that lead to her disappearance, but because they may still be people alive still connected to this, they are waiting for police to act appropriately.
yes, we do have Tara Calico's case on our list. It is truly a heartbreaking story about we would love to try to help her family get some answers. Thank you for your support and thank you for watching.
I don't understand why the mother would raise alarms and try to report her missing ASAP if she sold her - unless....unless she did agree to a one-time paid for (abuse session or something else) that was to take place in the home, and Anthonette would not be taken *from* the home. Maybe the guy gave Penny "a strong drink" that was laced so she would pass out and be out of commission, and not be able to watch over things/make sure the guy left/witness the kidnapping. A lot of people, unfortunately, pimp out their children in this manner. What do we know about Penny's life and the possibility that something like this, like being SA'd, pimped out from home, or trafficked out, ever happened to her. A lot of things about her - her excessive partying, etc., raise this possibility for me.
That would make a lot of sense. I’ve wondered about Penny’s own life, childhood, background, and trauma too. History of being abused/trauma is extremely common in addiction. She certainly could have had a rough life. Trauma is often handed down generation after generation. She’s also Navajo, and indigenous populations/reservations/indigenous women and children in particular were and are still targeted by predatory individuals (MMIP… also I’ve seen firsthand an issue with people going to the Rez just to prey on girls there because of how easy it is to get away with it, which is the fault of the system and government, not the tribes themselves). I feel for this family and keep them in my prayers and heart. I can’t even imagine what they must go through. I wish the best to Sadie and Wendy and hope Anthonette is found safe. If nothing else, I hope they finally find closure and healing. 🙏
I don't wish to be pessimistic, but I believe she was murdered by her captor as soon as that phone call ended Whoever was holding her captive came dangerously close to being caught and likely decided keeping her around wasn't worth the risk
Thank you for your support. I hope you were able to watch Part 2 -- if not, its uploaded. I will also be uploading a video answering some of the questions we have received about Anthonette's case. We are working on several cases... A new case will be uploaded every few weeks, but in between you can watch other content...such a trailer to the new episode and Q & A segments on the cases we have covered.
Ok case closed , you tell your ten year old to go open door in a rough neighborhood i might add but that doesn't even matter because im 42 year old man and i live i one of the most safest towns and i would be scared sh,t if someone was knocking at my door at 3:30 in the morning, i surely wouldn't tell my ten year old to go answer it , id be protecting my family at that point, then she LAYS ON THE COUCH FOR 30 MINUTES AND THEN GOES TO LOOK FOR HER DAUGHTER, WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, THIS IS RUBBISH TALK, THATs LAUGHABLE BOLOGNA TALK, IF THIS IS ACTUALLY what penny told the fbi THAN CASE CLOSED THE MOTHER WAS INVOLVED, PERIOD END OF STORY. WHY IS SHE NOT IN JAIL
The information that is being shared now and what was aired on unsolved mysteries are completely two different interviews very different from what unsolved mysteries showed.
I think that most people who run away are naive to the dangers of the outside world. I grew up exposed to the same types of people as Anthonette and it made me feel like even if my home was abusive, it was at least predictable and stopped at a certain point, whereas if I ran away, anything could and probably would happen to me.
Hi Dani, That is a question that we have been asking ourselves. Its likely that those who covered the case did not request the entire file and only relied on information specially coming from law enforcement. Law enforcement will not release the entire case file, unless you make an request and pay the hundreds of dollars to obtain it. Thank you so much for your question and your support!
Hi Dani, thank you for the question. I am uploading a video today where we answer several questions many have about Anthonette's case, including this question. Thank you for your support.
I'm curious to know if this family has ever had any DNA test linking THEM ALL together. This entire scenario is questionable to me. The nightly "lock down"? That's not a home/family thing. That's a whole institutional thing. Families have "safety checks" and such. was maybe there was such a commotion made from anthonette disappearing that the other children were safe, just by default.
The mother brought these ppl into their lives their house got raided did anybody ever call CPS if they had different ppl around especially if you’re living in those apartments CPS never checked up on them🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for your support. There will be a new video coming out today (Friday, April 14, 2023) answering some questions about why we mentioned new names and other publications did not. stay tuned...
The unsolved mysteries segment came out before much was known. It was presented as a stranger abduction. The mother's changing story / involvement and a bunch of other details came later. There was no dishonesty or withholding of info from the show. You can see that the mom is portrayed positively even going through the ritual partly on camera.
@@refinedsugar I do not exactly buy that. Unsolved Mysteries was a TV entertainment show first, and would often omit or gloss over some of the fact, in order to make the segment more appealing to the audience. From what I ahve heard, Police had their suspicions about Penny early on. For starters, Penny was not exactly forthcoming with Police when reporting her daughter missing. She did not even bring up the fact that Elmo had been showering gifts upon Anthonette, which would have been something to bring up to authorities, considering Elmo had been at the home the evening prior. Police only learned about Elmo after interviewing other members of Penny's family. There was also a raid of the Cayedito home by the DEA shortly before Anthonette disappeared, so it would be in Unsolved Mysteries best interest to omit some of these facts, as they wanted the viewers to view Penny in a more sympathetic light.
I hope you were able to watch part 2 -- its been uploaded for about a week now. I will also be uploading another video today answer questions that we have received about the case. Thank you for your support.
The sister that claimed that lived with her mom, after the abduction. Sadie lived with her dad the years following Anthonette's disappearance. Penny, the mom, never mentioned the second knock until 1994, when she was interviewed by the FBI. That is why some people are questioning if that second knock actually happened. Or...if what Penny told the FBI explains more about the mystery knock when everyone was asleep. A knock that Sadie doesn't remember happening. We are diving into that and what her mom told the FBI in part 2. Subscribe…to get notifications for part 2.
Well you know the man named rodger has everything to do with it so who were the people that he went to spend the night with that the police confirmed that so what so what if they verified that he went to spend the night at someone's house that tells you absolutely nothing about what he did
brown truck sighted in front of the house at 6:30 and then someone sees a brown truck hearing someone say help me. then she wakes up the girls at 7am telling them anthonette is missing lets go find her.
@@crystalgutierreztv i really hope it does, i have been impatiently waiting for something since I first seen her on unsolved mysteries in the 80s. this case always felt incomplete and suspicious to me. Thank you for releasing the new information! it gives confirmation about my doubts on her mother and wendys stories
How much money are you making off this series? How many likes, follows, subscriptions? Ever stop to think how this affects the entire family and all of us friends who really know her? This isn’t gossip for us. We been searching for her since we were kids
I haven't made a single dime off of Anthonette's case. In fact, I have put up thousands of dollars to get this story shot, edited, gas and hours spent putting Anthonette's story together to try to get answers for her family. I paid nearly $400 to get all the documents on Anthonette's case. FYiI, I left a very lucrative job as a morning news anchor to take on this endeavor because I'm passionate about what I know and love when it comes to journalism. Also, I started Beyond The Case...because (one) I too have dealt with heartbreaking loss and I have chosen to turn my grief into purpose. My dad died when I was 15 years old. While I know how my dad died and where he is buried, it breaks my heart that so many people don't have an ending. That is the reason I started Beyond The Case. (Two)There are so many cases of missing people that do not get the attention they need because their families aren't wealthy or have the social status to gain the attention of national media. I also come from a hard-working middle class family and if this were to ever happen to people I love, I know they wouldn't get the attention they need to help get answers. While you may feel there are other motives for Beyond The Case, you are entitled to your opinion. But there is no one who has covered this case as extensively as BTC. I pay the private investigator, not the family. I pay for the videographers, I don't have a major corporation who is footing the bill to get this massive project started. I understand that this is very personal for you and your family. Keep in mind...you don't know my story. I pray that this helps bring answers to Sadie and Wendy.
@@melindavigil4203 We actually consulted with family members very close to Wendy and after a long discussion we felt, for now, it was best to let her heal then to interview her on the subject matter. While I have never spoke to Wendy, I am fully committed to protect her as well. In my opinion, she too is a victim in this. Thank you for your concern,
