Disaster! China Rocket FALLING Again...
“Rocket science is easy... landing a rocket is hard,” Elon Musk said. And this is true for most rocket companies worldwide, including Chinese rocket companies. Despite their efforts to catch up with SpaceX, landing rockets has never been an easy task for China.
Recently, a rocket company in China had a rocket crashed into a village while burning fiercely. This is truly an unacceptable disaster.
So, what exactly happened? Why does China continue to face such setbacks in its space endeavors? Let’s find out everything in today's episode of Alpha Tech.
Disaster! China Rocket FALLING Again...
The space race is becoming increasingly intense. With the growing competition between China and the United States, comparing SpaceX and China's aerospace industry has become a familiar topic. Chinese rocket companies are still striving daily to catch up with SpaceX in the reusable rocket industry.
As of June 17, Elon Musk's SpaceX has completed 356 launches, 319 landings, and 290 re-flights, according to flight data from Fox News. This is a tremendous achievement for the world's first private space company to pioneer and deploy reusable rockets. The reusable Falcon 9 rocket has dominated the launch industry, putting the United States in the number one position in the global space race.
Disaster! China Rocket FALLING Again...
Data from BryceTech shows that SpaceX launched 525 spacecraft into orbit in the first quarter. This number is more than any other space program in the world, significantly surpassing China and Russia. SpaceX launched approximately 429,125 kg of large spacecraft in the quarter, far exceeding China's rocket program, which launched 29,426 kg.
Moreover, SpaceX's fourth test flight of the next-generation Starship rocket was a complete success in early June, signaling that the U.S. rocket program will continue to develop throughout the next century.

Hey, not sure if the laughing, Elon musk edited picture in your thumbnail is appropriate. If this rocket hurt or killed people. I’m not sure if it did. I know they have in the past. That would be a misrepresentation of Elon’s reaction to such an event, as well as tacky and inappropriate

That 1996 long march rocket failure was suspected to be intentional. When the payload engineers were allowed to see the remains of their payload, the Command Encryption hardware had been meticulously removed from the satellite. And video of the launch analyzed by American experts shows that the rocket left the pad much faster than usual adding evidence that it was not even fully fueled.

@bcddd214 That's an unnecessarily offensive and ignorant comment. The Soviet Union lost several astronauts, but never admitted it, and China has launched... how many rockets? With the benefit of 70 years of everyone else's experience and 21st century technology? Hindsight is always 20/20... Even SpaceX alone has carried twice as many astronauts as China ever has. And it should be easy to have no fatality, ever, if you don't launch any rockets. ( Though see 2:34 in the video)

What does a last second booster catch attempt abort look like? Pride goeth before the fall spaceX! Trying to catch a hovering booster that has never completely successfully landed before without a solid plan for how to abort such a catch is a recipe for disaster. Sure, Chinese rockets have a lot of problems and they kill a lot of people on the ground, but the CCP doesn’t care about the Chinese people and doesn’t even count the people who are killed or injured on the ground. At least for now, that’s not true in the United States. SpaceX should consider that.

About everything you need to know about SX is right there in front of you. They have close up videos, detailed drawings, journal entries, recorded changes over time, and experts who have discussed every development in the rocket since day one. Oh, I suppose they have their secrets; like metallurgy, and test results and ceramic composition and little things hidden away like that. All China needs is some brilliant engineers, driven employees and equally driven leader and the ability to think outside of the box. Like, we need a rocket that's reusable and can land without legs when it has to. A rocket that is probably made out of a special metal alloy rather composites or aluminum. Maybe China can help with those pesky ceramics; before SX finds a solution to that as well:-)

China has only just started in Space and are doing spectacular stuff. The recent Mars and Lunar programs are good examples. Love they way tonnage to orbit is compared rather than rockets launched. SpaceX will be surpassed. It's only just a matter of time. As for safety - lets just look at Boeing's aircraft record lately? 'Mimic' use of grid fin tech - wonder that tech came from originally. Similar story for 'hot staging' recently adopted by SpaceX for Starship. Western exceptionalism on full display. Do a google quick search. Grid fins ... 'They were developed in the 1950s by a team led by Sergey Belotserkovskiy and used since the 1970s in various Soviet ballistic missile designs such as the SS-12 Scaleboard, SS-20 Saber, SS-21 Scarab, SS-23 Spider, and SS-25 Sickle, as well as the N-1 (the intended rocket for the Soviet moon program).'
