Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I once heard a homesteader say “if you have life stock, you also have dead stock sometimes, it goes hand in hand”. That was an eye opener for me

A goat that likes to over eat, can give itself bloat by over eating wet green grass. Sometimes when it's raining or misty, it's safer to not let the goats graze and feed them dry food

I remember when my wife and I got our first chicks and I was so sure I wouldn't be sad if one died, but I was quite sad when one of the chicks started acting odd, starting not eating and then died a few days later. That experience gave me so much respect for farmers and where our meat comes from.

Try watching Junkyard Digs for how to start motors that have set for long periods of time - they frequently get vehicles running that have set in barns for 20 or so years

Keeping animals is so tough, they don’t live as long as we want them to, even when they don’t become ill. Im very sorry for your loss, its hard losing a loved pet. Do your best to try and focus on the love and happiness she got from you during her time on the mountain. You have more love to share x

Sorry to hear about sweet pea 😢. The one thing I know about watching loads of homesteading channels is that unfortunately, animals seem to pass away frequently. But, if somehow we can zoom out from focusing on the sadness and see that death is a part of the miracle of life and that this mindset might help us as humans live in the present moment and cherish each day we are blessed with . Live for today because tomorrow is not promised. Animals are sacred and we are blessed to have them in our lives to teach us empathy , unconditional love and many life lessons.

So sorry for the loss of SweatPea. You’ve both got so much love in your hearts for your animals. They’re all lucky to have you and I’m sure SweatPea had a better life on Miracle Mountain than she would have elsewhere. Looking forward to seeing this new cabin up the mountain, and in case I forgot to answer your question from a recent video, yes, Theo I’d love to watch as you finish things up on the off-grid property. Especially the kitchen- I’d love to see how that looks all finished. I’m also curious about what happened with the house in the city.

Hi Theo, good luck on building a cabin in middle of mountain & jungle, but on your own land!! 😊😊 This was so nice of you to help your friend for cutting trees and fixing his truck, hopefully you will able to make his truck work. This truck, first thing, I think needs to be clean and use some fresh motor oil plus use oil on some rusted parts of truck. Happy 2024, best wishes for you & Bee. Health & Happiness.

I just lost my dog on Friday, and she became very sick. Liver failure. The emergency vet said there was no hope. So sad. I rescued her 8 Years ago from the pound. She had been rescued from a puppy mill. Hopefully, I added something to her life. She was 11 years old.

Dear Sweetpea. What a sad homecoming for Bee, but I'm sure it must help to have been with her at the end. Your little burial monument is lovely. The cabin site is absolutely amazing, with those gorgeous stones set like jewels into the hillsides. Happy 2024 to the two of you, and to your friends with their projects around you. Theo, I don't know if you know this, but, you have to remove the bark from the trunks and then let them dry out. Otherwise bugs will enter under the bark and eat up the wood. That's what's done to all trunks before it's cut into lumber. Google it.

They say if you want somebody to do things for you, you should go to a busy man. You will CERTAINLY be a busy man with the log cabin, the rest of the work on Miracle Mountain (including the stone buildings renovation) AND going back to complete the offgrid property. Oh god, I’ve read some comments so just can’t watch this one!!!!! Lost my big malamute Skye 6 months ago and nearly lost my husky Mishka just before Christmas, thankfully saved by surgery! So can’t see this about the beautiful Sweet Pea…….am bloody gutted 😢😢😢😢 RIP beautiful girl! 🙏

You know when it rains those terraced valleys, way back in your woods, get most of the water runoff when it rains, it will be a gusher. Especially in the middle of 2 hills maybe BEFORE you start your building you can go up there, and observe the terrain during HEAVY RAINS

I'll suggest having your cabin floor raised off the ground so any water can drain away from it when it rains. Otherwise it is a wonderful spot. So sorry to hear about the loss of Sweet Pea. Happy New Year to you both.
