There's no excuse nowadays for trucks to have transmission and rust problems like this. Chrysler, Ford, and gm bribed Congress to restrict import of trucks. This allows them to continue making overpriced crap.
I have always been impressed with your ability to use the machines as an extension of yourself but this blew my mind. To see you tear off the windshield then put it in a trash can shows the skill and talent you have. Then you just start picking up small pieces. Simply amazing!
i've been laughing for a full minute when you said "its easier to take the truck off the engine" just imagining the process. LoL you made my day mate! thanks for a GOOD video
andrew i have watched i beleive most of your videos and i have found them very instructive and very entertaining, but this one????? you could have removed probably more salvageable parts but then again who am i to judge...you were simply having a great time.....
He laughed before on cam. On his video where he talked about every vehicle he had and took out the small trike from his childhood. He was driving that little thing for less than 30 seconds and had fun like a child again. XD Here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zAygSLuMOtQ.html
3:03 everyone else raging about the pick up truck destruction and i'm over here noticing andrew is one of the only people that actually removes the fluids from the engine before erm.... dismantling, instead of just letting it drain away on the floor or ground.
Haha yeah, I was thinking the same because years ago when I was in a scrap yard (junk yard) there was this massive explosion there and a huge fire broke out because when they were dismantling the cars all of the petrol (gasoline), oil and diesel ran down the yard into underground tank system and the gas cutter started it with a spark. I got a ruptured eardrum from it and got a life time 50% off anything I buy there ha.
Auto wreckers around here are usually pretty efficient about removing fluids. Unfortuantely to a fault, it's almost impossible to find an intact fuel tank because they drain them by piercing them open. As for the truck itself, it was clearly a rusted-out heap, not a lot of value in it for anything but parts. i'm a little surprised he didn't strip the interior though, that looked like it was in much better shape than his gray one's is.
@@TWX1138 Is that the pickup he "custom" fitted with radio/screen thingy with a chainsaw lol? Yeah everything as changed over the years here, the scarp yards have to separate the coolant, petrol, diesel, and all the other different oils but, what I don't get is we have to use this stuff here (Ireland) called adblue, it's a special mixture for all newish diesels that is fed into the exhaust and reacts with the fumes to cut down on emissions (Google it if you're not sure) but, we have to handle that stuff more safety than other liquids?? I don't think it's flambe it's just whatever is in it I guess, and I know for fact that urine is in it because it's wrote on it lol. Next we'll be putting poop in petrol cars haha.
@@roadrash90 DEF, that's basically standard for every diesel engine in the developed world now. it's just water and synthetic cat pee, but it's very corrosive to metal.... so just imagine what it's doing to the inside of that engine. :)
My 4yr old grandson is yelling at the iPad . Go Andrew ! Thanks you for the safe no bad language programing . The quality time I spend with my grandson watching your programs .
OMGosh I knew this was going to be GOOD when I saw the headline....When you removed that hood it became "PRICELESS" from there on!! I'm watching this again!! Jim.
You've gotta love Andrew. He could have ripped that truck apart in five minutes just using his bare hands, but he used the mini to make it more interesting, and to make the rest of us fell less inadequate. Bless.
Hi Andrew , back again. What ever my daughter did is terrific. I am in your channel and am watching your work on the new property you did from start to finish. I am one excited 62 year old grandmother, I can tell you. Love your work and the joy you have in your chosen career. God bless
I must say young man that I used to think I was darn capable and that I could handle most anything but you sir put me and virtually everyone I have ever known to shame. You are a machine, man! Kudos! How you can balance the knowledge, the pure luck, the brawn, and the determination along with doing a kickbutt job with all of the video is nothing short of incredible. I am amazed you find time to sleep with the editing alone!
For the 362 Jagoffs who thumbs-downed...you don't get it. This was entertainment....like when you were a kid and took an old radio apart with no intention to put it back together...AC is a YT genius when it comes to content, production, sense-of-humor/shtick, love of God’s creatures, and has grown into a naturally gifted narrator. Loved him including the repaired Burke Bar which was a special tool made for him by an accomplished craftsman (who described AC as a “force of nature”). In my view, this video was a distraction/stress relief to the immense job he has over his head; literally with the roof project. He eluded to “morale” of the “worker”s in an earlier episode tying it to a clean work-space…this young man is human after all. Yes, he’s put his life out in public for all to see and critique which tells me he has plenty of fire in his belly to weather the limp-dick descension-obsessed, basement-dwelling, crusty-underwear-wearing internet trolls. Soldier on Mr AC with prayers for your health and safety…you have changed/influenced many lives.
I truly believe he IS. No job IS ever impossible, he thinks , he figures it out and always gets it done. I've learned alot from watching him, and i am very gratefull thank you ANDREW
I just grab a snack then i saw Andrew post, well me thought : cool let's see.. then it started.. i couldn't eat anything anything after and at the finish i was like what the hell did i just saw ?
A guy chatting with Andrew: "So what do you do for a living?" Andrew: "Oh a little bit of everything, construction mainly..." Guy: "Got any hobbies for your downtime?" Andrew: "Well first off, I don't have much down time, but when I do it's mainly the destruction business.."
Didn't he say he wanted to keep the axles? I mean, good luck after 9:35, putting the whole weight of the excavator on them. Also, he bought it for the engine and continuously rams the whole shovel into the engine bay. Very clever.
should take truck to auto body ask them how much cost to put back together lol when they say you just need new truck say nah you should be able to buff that right out lmao
@@Tony-112 He's had that particular machine for so long. I wonder if there is a claw attachment for an excavator of that size made to rip apart vehicles and handle scrap metal? It seems like Andrew deals with a lot of that lately.
Loved the video and it reminds me of two things I always think, other than Andrew outworks all of us. First, the sheer power of these excavators is incredible, especially with the thumb. That excavator easily lifted that truck body with a couple of inches of snow in it at the beginning of the video, then made short work of that pickup. I mean it was no contest. Second, the strength of bedrock must be incredible too, because it seems to be the only thing that defeats one of these excavators, absent the hammer attachment. I work at a job that doesn’t put calluses on your hands so these things amaze me.
This is so awesome seeing the bed of the truck being peeled like an orange. What power and precision!! Also, great example of the steel vs copper rust! I luv watching this at 2x speed :)
Thank you for not having an annoying intro. Thank you for not telling us to subscribe. Thank you for not asking us to comment. Thank you for not asking for a thumbs up. Thank you for not asking for money. Thank you for the many camera angles. Thank you for the interesting videos.
if you decide to reuse that 360, make sure you, at a minimum, put the improved plenum gasket on the bottom of the intake manifold before you install it. A new timing chain, water pump, and heater tube would be another good idea, if you do that, also install a timing chain tensioner from a 3.9L. I'm just down in Marlboro if you need any advice on Mopars, you have taught me so much I would love to pay you back.
It's the year 2040, Andrews son asks for help in removing a truck engine, sure son, back in a minute 😀. Definitely an example of rusted chassis. Thanks for sharing.
Andy, I never seen a more versatile man than you. You can do anything, a very well to, your really amaze me. Your house is amazing. Keep up the excellent videos
Well, I’ve just had this damned rattle somewhere under the truck 🛻 so I took a few parts off and found the problem. Goddamnit! This goddamned rattle was found under the truck somewheres.
I love the way that Andrew is nice and gentle with it maneuvering it into the garage gently and the removal of the hood so that he can get to the engine. All so precise and gentle.😁
Throwing all of the small stuff into waste bins (trash cans) - The amount of times that I have driven around the properties of my friends and got a screw/bolt/nail/sharp offcut/ stuck into my tyres! You are bang on right their Andrew.
I have always said, You have to wear your seat belt under penalty of law, but the brake lines are made to dissolve and could go any time. Salting roads is tantamount to attempted murder regarding brake lines as manufactured.
I was looking for this comment. Just so I could say maybe he feel off the roof. LOL of course i'm kidding and hope hes well. maybe he picked up some new jobs for mor vids.
Andrew, that sure looked like fun. I enjoy watching your youtube exploits! Quite a varied set of jobs that you do with attention to detail and a sense of pride in a job well done. keep it going! THANKS!
Joash Bowles I locked my keys in my truck at stop and shop over the summer... wasn’t gong to wait for aaa so I punched the window out. Replaced it with plexiglass for 5$ lol.
@@affordablepropertymaintena9213 If its the truck in your profile picture its easier to go through the wing window with a hanger than mess with busted windows
ricochetey the rear window was locked and so were the small ones on the doors. Didn’t have a hanger with me. Took 5 mins to cut and install the plexi glass.
Hi Andrew! Following your advice I bult a snow plow for my Montero Sport 07. It is 87 inches(220 cm) and works great! New Snowplower was born this winter))).I used an Electric Winch for my plow, as in my country we dont have hydaulic ones. It took me 1 week to weld all the stuff. You show lots of useful things in your videos.Thank you very much for that! Good luck for you and your family! Waiting for new vids...
Just want to say thank’s for your great work and channel. You don’t fake it, you make it! ;-) It’s a great show to watch and yes, child friendly. Good job in every way. Better than “Bob der Baumeister” and much to learn. Landscape reminds me to Sweden and Norwegian. Chilly and calm. Best after a boring day in the office. Stunning! Greetings from north Germany and keep on rolling!
XD Gmail all vehicles this size are built pretty much exactly like this truck. Thin 18 gauge sheet steel that rusts away, thin flexible frames unless it’s a unibody, then just lots more thin sheet metal. And no the older cars aren’t any tougher, still thin flemsy sheet metal.
Nice!! I always wonder if Andrews dad watches his videos and sit there laughing and thinking what is up with this guy cause I do and I just love the videos!! I was wondering when the saw was going to appear!!
I've owned several Dodge trucks over the years, most impressive feature is the tailgate cables! Another Great video Mr. Camarata. Something we've all wanted to do to our trucks, at least once! :)
If it's cold enough for the dumptruck to require jumping and a heater to turn over and start Levi and Cody are taking a day off from on site project management.
OMG I absolutely LOVED this! It's such an Andrew Idea...Glad your were able to save SOME pieces and the engine, though might need a few things NOW,.. Every video, I am looking at your Roof and what you have delivered:-) Chopping at the bit for more videos on that:-) Bit love this as well, Thank you so much, Andrew!
A few nights ago I watched a video where some guy made that burke bar then at the end said he was going to send it to Andrew. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XJwxBMcnj5k.html
Looks like fun. Removed engine etc using somewhat similar technique many times. Usually takes less than 30 minutes. Remove oil, coolant and refrigerant using appropriate method for your circumstances. Disconnect trans shift linkage and cut or unbolt steering flex joint. Cut fuel lines, brake lines and wiring harnesses in engine bay. Flip vehicle on side with one door open leaving tires and wheels attached. Cut or unbolt drive shaft and exhaust pipe. Cut or unbolt engine/transmission mounts. Usually removed fuel tank before cutting if using torch. Radiator and condenser are usually not worth saving so often leave in place. Lower vehicle back on wheels. Hook engine using chain or cut seat belts and lift out. Watch for wires, hoses etc that may be restricting removal. This entire operation is easily accomplished using a skid steer. If saving deferential's, I usually cut at frame mounts.
