Let's face it - sometimes that Disney Magic can come with a bit of a premium. But that doesn't always have to be the case, and Disney World is home to a lot of really great restaurants where you can still have a magical experience (better than the signature restaurants in some cases!) for a much more affordable price. So, today we're going through some of our favorite restaurants in Disney World for when you're dining on a budget!

Pecos Bill's is the best budget friendly meal in all of Disney. That toppings bar and $10-14 Mexican food, way cheaper then anywhere else

I think it would be helpful to include the price range of these restaurants. I know those change over time, but it would give the viewer an idea of what 'budget' means for wdw.

Y'all forgot about Yak and Yeti's Quick Service. The Chicken fried rice for $3.99 is one of the best meal deals at WDW.

Tom Jefferson Thankyou! Great tip. I enjoyed the video but what you have mentioned is more the type of thing I was looking for. We are a family of 4 going in January and will want to grab cheap, filling options quickly.

if i'm on a budget....a $16 burger meal at beaches and cream does not come to mind.

Unfortunately, for Disney, that is budget. But for the most part you're dealing with a semi-captive audience...

j burggg why didn’t she mention the Tomorrowland place where you can get burgers, chicken, and other things I forgot. It’s a lot cheaper than the $16 burger meal

if you want to talk strictly burger, cost/taste...then D-luxe burger tops beaches and cream and it's cheaper.

the beaches and cream burger is a little better than the place you mentioned BUT not worth the commute and extra cost.

The wave breakfast is $23 for full buffet and they'll even give you any of the plated food for no additional cost! Great buffet too, fresh options but still includes Mickey waffles, cheesy hash browns, eggs Benedict, etc!

The burgers at Sci -fi cafe are by far the best on Disney property and don’t cost a fortune. I was so impressed that I was able to get the burger cooked to medium rare. They can do that because the burgers are fresh ground daily.

I just got back from WDW and did food on a $350 budget (not by choice, had an unexpected, last minute expense come up). It was hard, but we made it by sharing every meal (there were only 2 of us), and only doing quick service/food and wine booths in Epcot. By our return flight, we only had $5 left. I don't recommend, but it can be done if need be.

I think that people really underestimate how much food you get at some of these counter service restaurants. You can split a lot of these sandwiches/entrees with at least 1 other person and save yourself some money and calories.

I wish you wouldn't talk about Trail's End....It's my favorite and right now it's easy to get a reservation to it. I hope you know I'm teasing you, I want everyone to know about this place! It's amazing! Brunch would be my first choice!!!

Thanks AJ! I watched this video about a half hour before we left for the Magic Kingdom. We had no idea Plaza Restaurant even existed, it just wasn't on our usual path. We popped in for lunch and had a great experience! The food was reasonably priced, the environment was great and our server was very good. We LOVED the mac n cheese brisket and also got to see the "Junior Mayor for a Day" ceremony. This will definitely be on our "must eat" list from now on!

Great job, as usual, and I totally con cur with all of our recommendations. And you and I could TOTALLY eat together, due to our shared love of chocolate and peanut butter! Long live the No Way Jose, and that grilled banana bread with PB sounds FAB, as does the chocolate peanut butter cake @ 50's! Guess what you've got me craving now? LOL I feel a Reese's in my future, if nothing better comes along! LOL

Your videos are great. We are planning our trip for November and I plan to watch everything you have. I do have a question. Have you ever done a video about the best counter service restaurants for value with the dining plan? Just wondering about our best bang for our buck for counter service meals and snacks using the plan. Thanks!

You’ve got a couple of our favorites on your list. We never miss The Plaza Restaurant or 50’s Prime Time Cafe. We always get the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and a chocolate malt at The Plaza. Just like Grandma used to make. We get Fried Chicken or Pot Roast at 50’s Prime Time. We also always used to get the S’mores at 50’s but they didn’t have them on the menu last time. I hope that they will bring them back soon!!! Thanks for sharing.

When we go to table service restaurants, one of us gets the entree, and the other one get an appetizer. It saves money, and gets the portions closer to what we need.

When I was there in the Fall I discovered Jock's Hanger Bar's happy hour. I thought it was pretty reasonable for Disney. If you sit on the outdoor seating it's super ice to get away from the crowds and watch the sun go down.

I really struggle with your classification of 'cheap'. I'd like it on the record that everything at all of these restaurants is overpriced, even if they are 'moderate' compared to all WDW dining.
@warrenandyiching
@warrenandyiching 6 лет назад
I understand what you mean however, it's all relative. If I go to Hawaii where every decent sit down restaurant charges $30 to $50 per entree, then I think a $12 spicy tuna to go plate at the ABC Store (equivalent to a 7-11) is reasonable.
@justinzucker
@justinzucker 6 лет назад
warrenandyiching .. relativity is an important point, however one should also consider the quality of the ingredients, preparation and service when calculating the perceived value of a meal. Disney will argue that you’re paying for the experience and atmosphere rather than just the food, to which I would tend to agree at some of their establishments, but if you break down your average food experience at any theme park you’ll always be overpaying, and there is no expectation that your cost will meet the quality

It's cheap by Disney standards. You go to Disney, so you know you're not gonna pay the same as the McDonald's around the corner for a burger. Price-quality wise, these are some of the best options when you want to eat at WDW property. Nobody stops you from going to i-drive for dinner.

I think the Kona Cafe in the Polly one of the better deals in terms of sit down restaurants if you don't want hamburgers and such. Nice variety, great fresh sushi and try to get a corner or wall table to avoid the cafeteria effect.

We love The Plaza and Beaches & Cream!! I always get the Reuben and then splurge and have dessert (I rarely, almost never have dessert in the 'real' world!), which is always the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae!!! Yu - ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! On our August trip, we discovered "The Wave" @ The Contemporary for their breakfast buffet. We are definitely going back for it on our next trip!!!!

Been to three of the five restaurants in this video, missing The Fountain and the Plaza Restaurant. 50's Prime Time is really fun, but I remember my last trip there the waiter wasn't into it. One time I went to Beaches and Cream after riding Mission:Space on an empty stomach (not recommended) and had a cheeseburger with cheddar, Swiss, American and provolone (?) and a chocolate shake. Love Trail's End which is inexpensive enough to not use a TS credit.

@notman05
@notman05 6 лет назад
I agree... my wife joined me, during a business conference at Disney, so we didn't have the usual dining plan options. She was eating on a budget, since my lunches were included in the conference. For dinner, we'd hit up Earl of Sandwich. The food is great, and prices are very reasonable, for Disney. The best prices, while at the resorts/parks, are usually found at the quick service locations. The Contempo Cafe, and Capt Cooks, were both places we loved, and have decent pricing. I don't know why this list included two table service locations, which I'm sure are much more expensive. I feel like AJ chose Prime Time, for nostalgic reasons, rather than how well it matched the criteria... the cheapest entree is $15 (Caesar Salad w/Chicken). Hardly seems like budget dining

Glad to see 50's Prime Time on this list- it is definitely one of the most reasonably-priced table services in all of Disney World, and you get the added bonuses of great food, great atmosphere, and a server that will berate you into next week for the smallest table faux pas.

A lot of the restaurants there serve pretty large portions, and it sucks walking around in the hot sun all day after eating way too much, so I usually split a meal with someone. Saves money!

We were at the Pop Century Resort & ate the wonderful Turkey Ciabatta sandwich at Everything Pop. HUGE sandwich, easily fed two of us with bites for the 2-year old. Generous serving of turkey, fresh mozzarella, & pesto on a 8" round ciabatta. I think it was $12 but it made two large servings. We've already decided that next time we're at WDW we're going back for that sandwich.

I'm not sure I would call some of these budget... My wife and I had dinner for 2 at 50's PrimeTime Diner and the Bill was almost 80 dollars. We were on the dining plan so we weren't worried about that, but If I had come here with a "budget" meal in mind and had to pay out of pocket, I would have been disappointed.

Folks understand that any theme park restaurant is pricey to a degree. But understand that the quality of food from most Disney restaurants (except maybe for their fast food fries) is really good. In comparison I never eat at any Sea World restaurant, because the food is really awful everywhere in the park. So when in Disney take the word low price or budget with (a grain of salt) and enjoy

And of course it will be described as "great value, great food".

Sorry AJ. Beaches and Cream... $14 and $16 burgers... cheap? I could eat at 5 guys two or three times. My wife and I were both raised to be very frugal, and this throws up an old mental block for us. We think Beaches and Cream is a splurge. We have stayed at Yacht Club and Beach Club numerous times, and just could not get beyond the price to eat there. Despite all of the rave reviews, it's still just 🍔 burgers, and burgers should not cost $16! Personally, I would actually feel violated if I paid that much for a burger. I would spend the rest of the trip trying to justify the purchase to myself, which is weird because we have no issue paying for steaks at Shula's. it just seems greedy.
