Sonic 06 is a game that ultimately could’ve been one of the greatest Sonic games ever if SEGA didn’t rush it. But despite its various issues and major flaws, it does get a few things right. Both Shadow and Silver’s campaigns are well written. This is also probably the best Shadow has ever been written in my opinion. He doesn’t try to be edgy and he values both Rouge and Omega’s help. And he willingly helps Sonic out when he needs it without talking down to him. One of my favorite moments in this game is the final cutscene of Shadow’s campaign. Then there’s Mephiles the Dark. One of if not the best Sonic villain ever. Everything from his design, to his theme, to his voice screams sinister. Whenever he’s on screen, he’s in control of the situation. Then of course, there is the soundtrack. This game is filled with solid tracks from boss themes to location themes to character themes. While this game may get a lot of things wrong, it also gets a lot of things right.

Despite the games flaws, there IS a lot to about it. Silver becoming one of my favorite Sonic characters, Mephiles is arguably the best Sonic villain ever, Iblis is an interesting beast, the serious moments really do hit hard such as Mephiles killing Sonic in front of Elise and Blaze dying, the boss fights were honestly great, the music was pretty alright. And even though the game is buggy, sometimes it's just fun to mess around with a game and have a laugh. So I'm probably with you and the minority, I genuinely love this game.

The game that introduced my favorite character, Silver the Hedgehog as well as my favorite villain, Mephilis. It makes me so sad that this game bombed so bad and killed Silver's chance of ever getting a solo game to himself. His powers and personality are so interesting and I hope that at least he will be utilised in future Sonic movies or TV shows.

I just finished watching this again, and I decided to imagine that after Elise blew out Solaris, and she had stated the wind reminder of Sonic(somewhat), that Sonic and Elise met after the Festival and had a nice hangout. Which leads me to support Sonic and Elise's relationship

51:17 One has to admit, it is kinda funny that Eggman just kinda plinks off that debris and tumbles offscreen. And personally speaking, I find the CGI cutscene that is the ending of Sonic’s story to actually be pretty good. Especially the face Sonic makes when he and Elise are blasted upwards onto the cliff by that explosion. Seriously, that’s actually pretty good.

7:50 I'm pretty sure that with royalty, even if a Prince or Princess is the current sovereign, they stay as such unless they're married to where they gain the title of King or Queen. Also, even if Blaze died in the original timeline, if Iblis never had reason to exist, it stands to reason that Blaze would still be alive BECAUSE of her original sacrifice with Iblis. You technically contradict yourself by saying that the Duke of Soleanna was old, so he probably died of old age instead of the explosion. In fact, Charriii saying that Blaze should've been there in the finale also makes sense because Blaze from any past point in the game could've been brought to that moment. Just because she dies in one point of time doesn't mean she no longer exists across the timeline.

I have a theory of there being 2 Blazes, inspired by Athena from Athena, Psycho Soldier, and The King of Fighters (yes, I'm basically saying Blaze is the Athena of Sonic). I call this "The Athena Effect". This ended up making less sense than i thought it would, but I had fun with it anyway. Listen to this: You know how Blaze was a future girl in 06 and she's from another dimension in every other media? I like to think the Blaze we have known since Rush is an ancestor of the Blaze we know from 06, just like how Princess Athena is an ancestor of the Athena we know from The King of Fighters. And just like KOF Athena, 06 Blaze wasn't specified to be a princess. I know the part where 06 Blaze says "Blue hedgehog..." can be taken for granted as her thinking "Hmm... a blue hedgehog sounds interedting..." but it could also indicate that maybe enough of Sonic's legacy survived for her to have even remotely heard of him if at all. Only reason Sonic treats Blaze like a stranger in 06 is because he's more focused on taking care of Elise. He can catch up with Blaze later. (In fact, he does in Rush Adventure). And considering Princess Blaze as I like to call Rush Blaze visits Sonic's dimension sometimes, I assume "Blaze Asamiya" as I like to call 06 Blaze did the same as a kid, which is how she met Silver (her own Sie Kensou) in childhood. Since then, she would help hin try and figure out what happened to burn out the future. But hey, that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading.

Kinda going into Sonic's permanent "cringe folder" at this point and sadly taints her character more than anything else for the fandom, the ending was tragically beautiful. And it wasn't for the nogstalgia that i like 06, it was for the concept, potential, and execution of it's story and gameplay. And here we are, the one I'm pretty sure everyone was eager to see when you announced this endeavor. Honestly, before J's Reviews' video, it seemed like critiquing Sonic 06 has fallen into the same rut as critiquing the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy: Everything you could say has been said by everyone else, so what more can you add without sounding like you're echoing someone else's take?

For sin 353, I believe he is referring to the timeline when Elise would have died naturally, not when she would have died on board the Egg Carrier, since after all, Sonic’s not gonna stick around forever. And for the ‘trick Silver into beating up Iblis until it’s weak enough to fuse with’, we’ll that’s just it, obviously Mephiles wouldn’t go ‘bwah hahaha go and defeat Iblis so I can fuse with it’, he would trick Silver into doing it, and then spring himself fusing with it once it’s too late for Silver to do anything about it, Silver wouldn’t need to, or be put into a situation where he would think that he would need to restrain Mephiles, since Mephiles would still be pretending to be his ally. Also, were Blaze to ACTUALLY be deceased, well bruh then Iblis would just be right back, since dying releases the seal again, so that would do nothing. But it does add to the theory of Blaze not being real, or just Silver’s imaginary friend or conscience, since she never talks to anyone, and she talks about Silver’s bad traits behind his back, like he would be doing inside his own head, and when she vanishes when Iblis is sealed away, that would be a representation of him no longer needing her to be by his side, since Iblis is gone and everything is alright now, he no longer needs an imaginary friend or representation of a stronger side or anything. For the final segment, it’s a bonus, it’s not a part of the base sins of the game, it’s an additional part added on the emphasise the complete waste of time the loading screens add on. Also, many would have brought up the loading screens as sins were there no sins about them in the game, just the ‘fakeout’ at the end, maybe you yourself would have even. It’s something unavoidable, and a major issue with the game, the fact they reload the entire game every time there’s a loading screen instead of just the part you’re going to, it’s a major flaw that needs to be addressed so much, since people would want it to be. And finally, y’know, the usual thing about, if I’m paid to subtitle a game correctly and then I make blatant errors of the English language, like I’m paid not to do, then I’m not doing my job, the thing I am paid to do, up to the expectations of the company and the viewers then am I. They are sins, since they are problems with the game, no matter how ‘small’ you assume they are, or how much you assume that ‘nobody cares’. There’s always somebody who cares, many who care, about many things you do write off sins for instead of actually doing a segment on them like some of the other random nonsense you do minute long retorts for. Anyway, y’know, this musta been a lot of work and all, don’t overwork or anything.

53:37 i think what charriii is trying to say here is that, aside from blaze's sacrifice near the end of the game, she pretty much had ZERO importance in the plot of sonic 06. i never played the game but from what i could tell, you could literally remove her from the story and absolutely nothing would change aside from that one moment. in other words, Blaze should've had more relevance in the overall plot (i know you can actually play as her during gameplay, but story wise yea she almost feels shoehorned in) that said, you made a lotta good points here and i have mad respect for that. it's kinda fun seeing counters to these types of videos

You know, Sonic was one of the games I grew up with, the other being Pokémon, when I played '06, I thought it was probably the worst game in the series, and still do, but I would be lying if I said I didn't still like anything that was present, "His World" is a thrill to listen to, same with Shadow and Silver's themes and I like when games have playable characters outside of the main ones, and when it all comes down to the wire, all that really matters is what a person likes as an individual, and it's nice to see that there are some people who can find enjoyment even in this game

And the Eggman boss music and background are very VERY epic!

While I still loved that charii5 sinned every loading screen. I do like how you raged at that part as well. And I agree. Sonic 06 gets too much hate at times. Another thing I’ve always thought, the point about why Mephiles just doesn’t fuse with Iblis in the future since he’s already released? I’ve always theorised that it isn’t a natural release. The seal was broken by death and I think a chunk of Iblis power was forever lost. Whereas the tears were the ‘natural’ release and Iblis full power was available for Mephiles to fuse with.

Man I only discovered your channel recently and I am GLAD that I'm not the only one who thinks charriii makes stupid complaints also personal headcanon as to why mephiles didn't join with iblis when Elise died when the egg carrier crashed is that since Elise wasn't able to cry the seal became permanent even though iblis was out, the royal seal remained even to the point that mephiles when attempting to rejoin in silvers time was booted out, since by then iblis had it's own consciousness different from Solaris and mephiles

Personally, I still really like the 06 video charri made, for the end, honestly, I forgot he mentioned the loading screens because, well he only mentioned it once, it was still pretty funny to me. My possible guesses for how Charriii discovered the Egg Wyvern exploit are 1) he watched videos on how to do this, 2) he discovered this on accident, or 3) he carefully planned this in advance by practicing with the Sky Gem.

This is going to be good, it's time to tackle the video that involves what is widely considered the 2nd worst game in the series. Me personally while it is a bad game due to the Sonic×Elise thing, the glitches, Robotnik's uncanny design, and the amount of loading screens. Everything else is decent if not good especially Mephelis as a villain and the final boss.

Just as the live ended i made a comment about watching GeekCritique’s review of ‘06 and he went into his perspective at the time cuz going into this he was hearing the hype from fans who bashed the game so he wanted to look for good stuff. This game honestly isn't as gitchy as it's made out to be like "Unplayable"... Really? I own this game and the first time playing it I only encountered 2 gitches then replaying it I ran into none at all. I can replay the entire game again and have no problem the game is actually very fun and believe me, You'll have alot of fun and the game is longer giving you even more time to have fun unlike the newer Sonic games.

I think the "yes and no" line was in reference to Iblis destroying the world, and Mephiles and Iblis being two halfs of Solaris. (or that mephiles unleashed Iblis and Iblis ruined the world)

The thing that I don't understand is... Where does Blaze come from? How Blaze knows Silver? Did she went to the future in the Sonic dimensions to stop Iblis? Because, according to rush and rush adventure, she lives in an other dimension. And I don't know if anyone can do a chaos control, it's not made very clear, so I don't think Blaze managed to find someone else doing a chaos control in order to go into the future. I'm not even sure if she can do a chaos control.

Not only does that sort of fading not happen when people die (unless you're a Force User in Star Wars or something), but said sealing is quite arguably why she's "a princess from another dimension" in every other game... because the way _this_ game ended twisted her personal timeline by retconning her departure but not directly involving the other universe. Also, that's why she isn't in the Final Story of this game: different universe. And we _know_ that this Blaze is also the Blaze we've seen since, because the latter _recognizes_ Crisis City when she's freed in Generations.

while I do agree that 06 is an overhated game, I think the main reason why this game still has a lot of hate is because of the 15th anniversary of Sonic. An anniversary of a franchise in a way is a celebration of an icon. it feels like an achievement for surviving as long as sonic did since there are MANY franchises kick the bucket before they can pick up steam. while 06 did pay homage to the previous games like adventure 1 or 2, considering how many problems people had with the game, not to mention the fact that the game had to be rushed, it felt like a huge letdown. Combined with the fact that we fans also got shitty gba port of sonic 1 also, and a racing game that while received decently didn't blow everybody away, the 15th anniversary didn't go well in the slightest. what was supposed to be a memorable anniversary for sonic turned out to be while memorable, it was remembered in the worst way possible. don't get me wrong, sonic boom rise of lyric is worst than 06, it feels easier to overlook since it's a spinoff. plus, it really wasn't a celebration of anything. the sonic boom series felt like what the sonic riders was: an experiment. I think sonic 06 has more hatred simply because of when it was released, and it hurt sonics credibility to the eyes of many. however, even though sonic has had a lot of ups and downs in his career, i will always acknowledge sonic as my favorite video game series of all time. I've played so many sonic games since my childhood, and I want to keep supporting the blue hedgehog no matter how hard things get.

About the jokes going on the Sins: Isn’t his series’ humor almost identical to cinemasins, who is the channel he used as inspiration for how he counts the sins? It’s literally in the start of every single one of his EWW videos (except the ones that are either sponsored or have an explanation of why certain problem happen, because the message appears after the sponsor in those ones). Wouldn’t the “sinned something the wrong way” sins also apply to their videos too?

Personally, I really like Sonic 06 for the gameplay. But I didn't care for the story. I was just kinda was bored of Shadow's story and I don't remember a thing in Silver. But I had fun just running around and just performing the glitches.

I Don't Really Hate Sonic 06 I Just Thinks It's an Alright Game That Could've Been Better.
