Hello, I just came inside from having a strong desire to wack my weed wacker. Indeed the constant line replacement is insane. And hence, I find you video. I am now going to head down to ACE to get a line replacement for my Stihl. I "Thank You." for your video and the recommendation. My weed wacker also thanks you for saving it from being wacked. Whoever invented wacker string should spend their time in hell doing nothing but replacing weed wacker line. Again and seriously, Thank You!

Thanks for your review. I just went out and purchased a polycut 28-2 after watching your video and I'm sold. No more measuring line, just to watch it unspool right as you're getting it back together. Those little blades are pretty tough. I have a FS-110 and didn't see it listed on the packaging, but it does fit that particular unit, and after trimming the yard with ease, you've got a new subscriber. Thanks again. Happy Easter

Use both the string and the blades. use string longer than the blades so the string hits first. That's useful for trimming around hard objects. If the grass or weeds over power the string the blades come into play. Ive been doing that for years with the older style of polycut. That being said I think these blades are tougher than the older style white blades

Excellent ! We've just bought an FSA 90R and the 'instructions' to change from plastic line to this head are utterly pathetic (for big-time German designers, their instructions are complete bollocks). Their RU-vid video (all music, no words) at less than 2 minutes is also rubbish. At least I can now see how this one works - bloody marvellous, thanks

Never figured out the STIHL string trimmer heads. Over a three hour trimmer sessions (with three STIHL machines) spent a third of that time getting them to feed out line or even taking a reload. One season they sort of work, the next nothing. Frustrating for sure. Will be going with the POLYCUT thank you!

I have a 22 acre ranch and use everything from a small string trimmer to a 6' brush hog on my tractor. My go to is a Stihl FS 90 trimmer which I just bought a new 28-2 head for. Gave it a run today and couldn't figure out the blade change procedure. The cartoon book included in the package didn't quite do it for me. Your Video straightened it out right away. I thought my first set of blades didn't last very long and I was doing similar stuff. Time will tell. Thanks

You need to mention that they want you to soak the blades in water for 12 to 24 hours too. I went through 2 blades in 15 minutes of cutting thicker weeds that I sprayed dead 1 month before

I’ve never had trouble replacing the line on trimmers but I’ve tried several of them including the speed feed head and the string breaks off even with the head and won’t come out or the line get trapped under itself inside the head and you’re constantly taking the head apart. Like you though I got tired of it. I bought the DuroCut 20-2 and with it you cut short pieces of line and when the line breaks or wears down you just pull the old piece out and put in a new one. I precut pieces of line and put them in a nail apron so when I need to change the line I just yank the old one out, reach in my apron and grab a new one. It takes like 5 seconds to do this so it doesn’t matter how many times you have to do it it is just no effort at all. Funny, I’ve read all kinds of bad reviews on the 20-2 and I can’t figure it out what their problem is with this head. This is so easy a kid could do it. I will never go back to a spool head again. I just put this on my FS131 and it’s great. My only complaint is I think the 131 has too much power for it as it over revs so the 91 is probably a better bet. I did a large area of long thick grass in no time. I was careful to not hit anything that wasn’t a plant so my blades still look good.

I think you got your "clockwise" and "counterckockwise" reveresed. But i get the gist of it, it is a left hand thread.

thanks for the video. I purchased one of these for my 35 year old FS86 after watching your video. I had to watch your video again to see how it came apart. I kept looking for screws to tighten down but you don't have to tighten or loosen any. The instructions are not very clear. thanks again

You have to dial these and all lines in water over night at least but should be stored in water soaking all the time before using🎉

Your video was much appreciated. The picture directions included with the blade kit were confusing and misleading. I struggled to comprehend from the directions included, how the top & bottom came apart. I have similar “jungle” to clear and appreciate your complete demonstration.

When I worked at a Stihl dealership we were told to keep the poly cut blades in water until you needed them. Kept them flexible and was supposed to last longer. Never noticed any difference. Have you ever been told that??

I've really messed up. I found your video after I made this mistake. I got the metal "cup" upside down. I put it on down and screwed the head on before I realized I'd done it wrong and now I can't unscrew it. Any ideas how to fix it?

I have to weed eat around a lot of chain link fence & my line constantly gets caught up in the fence. Would be curious as to how well these blades hold up against chain link fence. I am curious though as to why you can't change out the blades with the head still attached since you show a gentle tug is all that's necessary to pull the white part off to pull off the blades & that's the part that's on the outer edge?

If it works for you that’s great but those are so niche and string is so much more versatile. Should have gotten the Shakespeare max load easy feed head and loaded it with .105 line.

I also have a 91-r and i read in the owners manual that you shoukd only run the motor between half and full throddle. Just somethimg i read i certainly do not know it all, i just recemtly laemed this apparantky this is the case with all hogh oerformance two cycle motors. Just a tip for you ro hekp with longevity of your motor.

I used one years ago but it had 3 white teflon blades. It mowed down everything, haha

I keep my blades in a glass of water. Keeps them less brittle and more pliable. Little more longevity. IMO.

Would nylon line have gotten through those blackberry bushes and stuff ? I wonder if you got say a bicycle spoke or maybe some wire of similar thickness and cut a piece the length of your blade and bent a loop at one end. Would that be dangerous to use or destroy things that you may hit like trees or fence. I know you say your blades are cheap - How much is cheap ? Can't be cheaper than a old wire clothes hanger. Maybe just too damn dangerous.

I had one of them before. The plastic blade breaks if you hit something harder. If one blade breaks it is totally out of balance! I found they were more problem than good. It takes me less that 3 minutes to restring my Stihl Pro. Better is just an opinion. Also, don't do what most people do and think thicker string is better. It's not. I use .095 with my Stihl Pro.

Yeah the blade works you have a long way to go on learnung how to handle a weedeater i mean long way but we all start somewhere next time use the blade only on the weeds and brushes never nears walls and rocks

Might work okay on your 91, but my 131 absolutely destroys blades. Even if I don't hit anything, a pair of blades might last me a tank of gas cutting thick grass. The Polycut isn't really that ideal for trimming IMO. You can severely damage fencing, siding, trees, your air conditioner, etc. If you're having trouble reloading your line head, you might try an echo speedfeed or a husqvarna T35. Both will fit your trimmer and are easier to reload than your autocut.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ru-vid.comUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
