How does the experience of divorce lead to personal transformation and self-discovery?
The journey of divorce is emblematic of a profound personal transformation, often unveiling the paradoxical nature of human relationships where deep trust and love coexist with the potential for betrayal and disillusionment, reflecting the intrinsic human struggle between connection and individuality. This individuation process during and after divorce constellates a metamorphosis, where confronting the shadows of a broken relationship becomes a gateway to self-discovery, self-acceptance, and a deeper connection with one's authentic self, leading to a more grounded and conscious existence. Loss, grief, and rebirth emerge as universal experiences, underscoring the resilience of the human spirit in facing life's adversities. While uniquely personal, the experience of divorce echoes the archetypal journey through cycles of despair, enlightenment, and resurgence, revealing that in the heart of suffering lies the potential for profound insight, healing, and the reclamation of one's path. At its essence, divorce acts as a catalyst for introspection and existential reevaluation, challenging inherited and societal constructs of marriage and relationships and inviting individuals to redefine their understanding of love, commitment, and self-fulfillment to pursue a more authentic life.
Prepare to discover who experiences divorce's deep impact, when it typically unfolds, how it leads to transformation, what emotional and psychological processes are involved, where it can lead individuals, whether it's a mere dissolution or a transformative experience, which aspects of the self are most affected, and why it can be a profound opportunity for personal growth and self-realization…..and so much more…

This topic brings up so many memories of both my parents' and my own divorce. Pain to the point of nausea, sadness, numbness, many difficulties and then daily gratitude and relief. Thank you for the discussion!

My reading on Jung leads me to recall that both Feeling and Thinking are "rational" functions, just with different criteria for the evaluation.

My marriage to a narcissist was like being slowly ground into the window until I was almost extinguished and my divorce was when I peeled myself off and flew away.

Not all affairs are preceded by problems in the marriage. Sometimes people just want it all. There are entitled people out there.

Marriage for many people is a way of avoiding loneliness as well as negating their deeper self thus never knowing who they truly are. This avoidance can end in frustration, anger and shame which is then projected upon their marriage partner. Too many people expect their partner to ''complete' them and this will not usually end well.

Oftentimes, these partnerships ( marriage, commitments, arrangements ) are vessels (opportunities) for unhealed individuals to entertain and wield a great amount of projection. The most toxic situations resemble a game of shame/blame ping pong.

As long as there is marriage, there will be divorce. It’s ok, to the brave ones that venture into this covenant, it’s a beautiful experience, either we learn from it or we don’t.

The baby image reminds me of the Tatterhood fairytale. The queen gives birth to a wild girl riding a goat carrying a wooden spoon

Yes, well done. Here is a nice joke: Divorce is like an airplane bathroom; you'll be blamed for whatever preceded you.

Well, when I finally escaped from my narc husband, he wouldn’t let me have any of our things, everything. And if you don’t have money to spend on lawyers, forget about it.

Actually, are you aware that there is an advertisement playing in your videos, where people ask for donations to abolish some cruelty of snatching baby bears away from their mothers? These baby bear screams are really hard to forget, they stick for hours in your brain. I don't know what the ad is for, I always close the tabs as soon as it comes on. I don't think anybody can concentrate on your videos after hearing this and traumatized people might get retraumatized right away. This is definitely not good. May be you can check and make sure that this kind of very graphic cruelty against animals does not get displayed without forewarning so that people can switch it off before they involuntarily watch it.

They have no control over what ad is played. It is RU-vid algorithm decision.

I'd highly recommend paying for RU-vid premium, there are no ads. It's totally worth it.

Get RU-vid premium and you will no longer be exposed to those ads in this video.

I think you can drag the "play" cursor (at the bottom of the video screen) all the way to the right and then tap the rewind circular arrow. That used to work to skip all ads. I haven't had to do that for some time now as I subscribed to RU-vid so I can download load videos with no ads. Sounds really awful :(
