This is my favorite enclosure build on youtube. I love turtles but have always kind of told myself I either will never be able to give them the space they need or not for a long time but this build has shown me otherwise. I've been doing a ton of turtle research and I am hoping to make my own above ground pond next year! Thank you for the detailed walkthrough and explanations. So glad i found this video, thanks it gave me some hope for a runt common snapper im caring for that seems to have just thawed out from hatching this past fall. So tiny and missing an eye that never formed fully. 10 days and still waiting for her to eat will try what you showed here. Thanks again

thanks for the helpful video. i should build one as a summer playpen for my 5 year old RES. i think at a shell length of 7" he's starting to outgrow his 55 gallon tank.

I see one safety concern for your DBTs... I used the same staples for the chicken wire on my Box Turtle lids and they work themselves loose after a while and can fall back into the enclosure where the they can be consumed--after noticing this, I switched to U Nails. A bit more work but a lot more peace of mind.

Hello! I recently did a outdoor tank for my turtles but in the summer (like now) it gets way to hot for them to stay in the tank and I temporarily Brought them in. Do you have any advice in how to cool down a outdoor tank (Mine is 110 Gal!) Without a chiller? Thank you so much, been watching your videos a lot for tips :)!
