in this video I go over a few much needed upgrades to my chosen materials, from foam to thread and everything in-between. I think I found that just right buckle...

Dude I should have checked back in sooner! The bags, the belt, the buckle…. Everything bro! The attention to detail is amazing. Seems like you have the foundation layed out and heading into refining stages. Love the box frame of the pouch for the speed square. Huge improvement over traditional bags. Using up every bit of space with the index👌. The belt padding I love the shape and the color. Keep pushing ahead dude. Definitely excited for the day they launch to be purchased 🤘

Thank you for real dude. If not today I'll be putting up a short or two on the finished belt early this week. Got the suspender loops all dialed in and everything with it now. Went full "stink pinky"(hot pink and tan) for my personal belt for a LONG time. Legit felt some emotion after building it on Friday night. Was wearing it doing dishes and shit🤣😎

I really like the belt buckle. I'm also digging the flat bar holster in between the pockets, too.... perfect for that mini stainless flat bar when running metal siding and riding. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Greatly appreciated dude. Thinking about the exterior guys alot with all this right now. Pretty slow moving with all this lately. Trying to come up with a few different things around the outsides. Thanks for stopping by. Updates soon.

Had to come check out what you were up to. You've got great taste and mad skills! One suggestion if possible is to do an index on the inside of the tape pocket for the stubby 2" bits closest to the hip. Something with a bottom like you have on the outside of the fastener pouch right now. I find I've lost bits every time i have used a webbing bit index like db and Badger do for 2" bits and i hate putting dowels in my Denali index since they're so damn hard to get out again. If you're looking for testers for any part of it I'm happy to give some feedback too.

Knew you'd be into it.. bit index- right now the plan is to offer "high riders" and "low riders"( top tape pocket). Any high rider pouch would be able to have room for a small index, and possibly a webbing "tape clip". Still figuring all this out. Super close with the main shapes for pouches. Either way, happy to see you back. Some more refinement and I'll actually have a good base to move forward with. I'll be reaching out to people as time goes. Much appreciated for real.

Have to chime in. Been wearing the badger set for about 2 months now. The bit index in the upper pocket is HORRIBLE. Can barely handle having a 30ft fat max in there because its so awkward to get in and out. Was really disappointed about that and hoping in time it will stretch some. The bit index seems to just get in the way

Please do the belt pad attachment the same way was as Diamondback, not like Badger bags. It wants to roll for me, I run the Badger Bags now, but with Diamondbacks belt, if the belt just runs through the a loop, it will roll up under for me.

I imagine you're referring to the way it's sewn in toward the buckle, kind of making it "1" piece?.. Definitely sticking with the way I have it. I like the way the buckle is tucked a bit away off your hip. My loops are tighter, keeping the belt webbing from sagging and moving as much as Badgers does. Going with the 4 points like dB. Personally I think a 3 point is a little easier on the body, but I want room for a bolt bag when people want it. That's MY gripe with the badger belt. No loop to keep the back of the pad from doing this wedgy type thing it does. Quite possible you are referring to that. My son's are still using their Badgers at the moment, and it happens to both with suspenders on... Thanks for the comment. All input is welcome. I really do enjoy the crowd sourcing. It's all helpful, for real.

@@clovisprojectdiy If you want to keep it that way, that is up to you, I will never buy a bag that has only loops, unless there is no other option, in that case I will get a custom sewed version added to do what Diamond backs does. I like the potential I see in your bags though. Also the flat bottom hammer sleeve, the Martinez hammer with its grippy handle slides a little hard on some sleeves, I will keep an eye out. I wish there was an option of a big loop on the right side front corner next to the hammer sleeve for a large tinner/hammer/swing tacker holder. Lots of Occidentals have a leather loop that works well, Badgers is in the back, I want it in the front, for easy access when stooping down.

Let's put it this way. Plain and simple. When I get started with putting things up for sale, I'm going to be doing what I got to do to make the sale. If somebody comes to me and tells me they need this or that, I'm sure I'll work with them to make it happen. Buckle sewn to either the loop, or the pad itself... got it. Hammer ring upfront, OK. Standard things will be standard things. I'm not super keen on being the guy that claims "you" can get whatever you want, but it's going to be 1 to 1 purchases at first either way. Maybe we'll be able to work something out in time... If not, no hard feelings. That's just the way things go sometimes.

I have an idea for your speed sqaure problem not sure if it's good or not but here goes could you make a slot in the bag of pouch wear you leg is .or maybe a slot on the front of the pouch like the clips you get for holding them .
@clovisprojectdiy
@clovisprojectdiy Год назад
So, the speed square placement isn't any kind of a "problem." Really, it's the thing I'm working on designing my layouts around. I'm considering it priority number 1. That thin, wide pocket will be on both sides, right and left. There are quite a few tools that I believe will(and do) work out very well in there. Most notably 6 inch wide "duck bill" metal benders(siding, roofing, and hvac). The plan is to have 2 core setups that utilize that pocket on both sides. I'm planning to be catering to the exterior guys with all that.. I've been keeping a 4 inch blade in there alot lately and it's pretty nice being able to keep the main bag clear of the certain wider tools like that(I do alot of flooring so I typically keep some type of scraper on me very regularly). Super into any feedback and suggestions in the future for sure.

High viz on the interior is great so stuff doesn’t get lost
@clovisprojectdiy
@clovisprojectdiy 10 месяцев назад
Big time. Black on black has always bugged me. So far, a lighter tan is what I'm thinking will be best as far as the "best" way to go interior wise. Not too loud per say, but still accomplishes what I'm trying to accomplish, and will be able to tie in all future color ways.

Would I be able to buy the waist belt and hang my diandback pouches on there? I live in CT.
@clovisprojectdiy
@clovisprojectdiy 10 месяцев назад
Absolutely. The pouches that I'm developing are using the same attachment style as a dB or badger pouch. Same velcro style closure... I am making sure to be able to "play nice" with that brand. Hoping to start selling products by early next calendar year.

Does that buckle get loose? That is the downside of the cobra buckle
@clovisprojectdiy
@clovisprojectdiy 10 месяцев назад
All in all, it's very much the same as the Cobra. It's going to be very similar as far as the adjustment point toward the webbing. I don't have any issues with it. Never personally had issues with the Cobra either... it's going to be a mixed bag of opinions on any buckle I go with anyway. Thanks for dropping by again dude.
