Hi I wanted to share something with you Mrs Ellen since you always sharing with us you can actually whipped the hard melt and pour as well you melt it down like you usually do and just keep whipping it until it’s smooth and creamy as it cools it will start to harden but you just keep whipping it will get smooth and creamy love your channel 💜💜💜
Would love to see a diy base recipe from you! I've tried so many of your recipes and loved all of them. I'm gonna get some of your products for our advent calendar this year too
Such a lovely tutorial as always! Thank you :) You are still my mentor and have no idea how much you helped me to learn this craft and science! Love n hugs all the way to you... stay blessed ❤
Since you’re looking at making your soap base from scratch you may want to look into a dual lye hot process soap paste. It’s what I use since it uses regular soaping ingredients instead of the detergent ingredients. For me it produces a small bubble lather in the sugar scrubs.
I also just made my own soap paste dual lye, and it was much easier than I expected. I made whipped soap with it and it came out nice. Not much lather but very moisturizing, but then again I’ve never actually used a whipped soap so there was nothing to compare it too but I loved it left a nice scent on my skin. I put sugar in it today and that was lovely also! And I think too if you can make it yourself do it because the bases have a ton of crazy ingredients.
This is awesome. I've tried WSP's brown sugar coffee soap scrub kit and Holly's whipped coffee sugar scrub. I think she uses that same base you're using, and I loved that texture. The texture of the WSP base, not so much. I'm going to be trying a batch soon with some avocado soap paste I made a while ago. Looking forward to your future exploration in this topic. 🤓😁 This looks great!
This is wonderful. I'm very much looking forward to your recipe from scratch as being in Canada, I do not have access to the same suppliers and if I can order from WSP, exchange rates and shipping make it not worthwhile! Thank you so much for your inspiration, I truly enjoy watching you making all kinds of goodies!
You can make whipped soap from melt and pour. You have to melt it and add some liquid soap to it. Let it cool down and start to harden and then whipped it. My kids and I did this as a science experiment in 2020 when the school closed for the year. I like using Flamming candles whipped soap base also
I've made the whipped sugar scrub from soap paste and it turned out great. I used organic sugar. I shelved it for a month. Today I opened a jar to test it and found the sugar completely dissolved. I'm wondering if it does the same thing with pre-base products? Or perhaps this is a product you must sell quickly? I'm also wondering if I should select a courser sugar like turbinado sugar?
@@EllenRuthSoap oh yes, don't want to waste product and money. I love your channel. Watch it all the time. Even though I don't make these crafts, just amazing out come of products.
Hello, these look amazing 🤩. Do you have to use sunflower oil? Could Avocado or another oil be used? I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for all the wonderful teaching.
Oh my gosh! Those look absolutely wonderful!! can't wait for the soap base one. Bet they smell wonderful! The look of the soap looks so creamy. Cheers & Blessings 👍💕
Hi Ellen, I watched this video yesterday and that looks really good for the body. I have a question the melt and pour soap base that's mainly for whipping can you add other oils? What kinds of things can you add to melt and pour soap base that's mainly for whipping?
I bet this smells amazing! Love, love, love caramel!! Also, Could I label a whipped soap scrub without listing all of the soap base ingredients? Or do you think all ingredients have to be on the label? What’s your opinion, please and thank you!
What a great video! I love this one. Ellen do you think I could use olive oil instead of the sunflower 🌻 oil? Thanks so much for sharing , I’m looking forward to making this 🤗👍🏼💜
I love that coffee. Do I have to put in more preservative? I didn’t do it on my last batch now I’m worried because I read other post where they say it’s not necessary.
That looks wonderful!!! Any thoughts of this call be stored in an aluminium tin container instead of plastic? I currently use glass jars but they are unsafe anytime
Awesome , thank you so much. After making soap , do we have to wrap after 24hr? Mine, came some water bubbles after few days. Can you please tell me why is that ? I am from Sri Lanka.🇱🇰 thank you .
It's important to make sure it's completely cool before putting the lids on. I'm not sure why it would have water bubbles, as there is no added water to this.??
hi ellen! great video as usual. i was wondering, do you ever thought about branching out to other bath products, maybe like liquid soap, shampoo bars or maybe wash off mask?
She's a one woman show so to speak. Making all those others would probably be overwhelming for one person. Keeping it simple yet luxurious seems to work for Ellen ❤️
@@EllenRuthSoap I recently used WSP ie. Wholesale supplies Plus, shampoo & shave Melt and pour to make shampoo bars. While the lather is phenomenal, and cleans well, one definitely needs conditioner on stand-by 🙄 thought I'd try it for about a month to see any difference between bottled. Look forward to watching your next video 🙂
I don't know if this has been asked already, but for the coffee grounds, are you using grounds that have already been brewed and then you dried them or are they fresh coffee grounds?
Hi Ellen. That looks fabulous. And you are managing the piping way easier. Is it having a round end. I’m currently in the UK so missing making soap (hobby). But I needed to make some whipped soap using the same product I can’t stand shop bought soap anymore. I can make it as easy but not bars as no real equipment and have to use hand whisk like you used before. Much better with stand mixer . I did wonder Ellen how you label the pre made product on your labels it doesn’t provide full ingredients. When I return to Aus I’ll make my own base so will know what’s in it.
The US FDA requirements for soap labels is pretty lenient. You’re not actually even required to list ingredients on soap, although I do and recommend all soapers do to. It’s different for every country, so be sure to know your local regulations. Any soap base or MP soap will have a list of ingredients from the manufacturer that you can use on your labels if needed.
@@EllenRuthSoap thanks Ellen, here (Australia) we have to list all ingredients, on my 1kg Stephenson base it doesn’t give the ingredients nir in Aus. I tried looking it up on their site and couldn’t find it. Luckily i don’t sell but only give to friends. Thats the main reason i will make my own once back in Aus. I follow Darlene “Body Haven Soaps” Canada who is also wonderful and makes her own.
Would crafters choice melt/pour soap base work as a substitute? I only ask bc I need something I can order from Amazon. I have never made soap products, I make medicinal salves/balms/lotions bars (and I LOVE your lip balm and lotion bar recipes!), but so want to try some body butters! This one looks good enough to eat, LOL!
Hello Ellen! Thank you for the great recipe. I'm looking on Flaming Candle and don't know which Stephensons crystal based melt and pour to pick exactly. They have multiple options. Could you please let me know which specific one? Thank you so much!

@ Ellen Ruth Soap I have Melt & Pour Stephenson Crystal Soap Base from UK, got it on a sale too. It seems so hard tho? I hope its the right thing. Do we have to use Optiphen or is Vit E or Citric Acid oKay enough?
@EllenRuthSoaps Ellen nooooooo why are you paying for soap base no Ellen no. It is so expensive for no reason. It is so much better to make it yourself using just soap or just soap paste and a little soap goes a long way. Just shre with you Ellen
