Love my Motiv Power bleeder. First time I bled my brakes on my evo, I made the mistake of unscrewing the bleeder valve too much. This caused the brake fluid to seep from under the bleed valve all over the paint... This ruined the paint on my brembos. I guess the moral of the story is you just need to loosen the bleeder valve enough for the fluid to start coming out of the top of the valve. This may be common knowledge, but my lack of knowledge screwed me.

I understand pulling the strainer out of the reservoir so you can get most of the fluid out of it. My question is when you are refilling it with the pressure bleeder would it be better to put the strainer back in before the process of starting of refilling and bleeding or because you are adding from newly open containers the chance of contamination is unlikely.

Clear process thanks. I was wondering if you siphoned all the fluid from the reservoir using the Motive catch bottle? Because in other videos they emphasized not to go below the “Min” mark to avoid inducing air into the system.

Yes you suck out as much as you can. Then when you fill with the bleeder the fluid will be pushed into the reservoir. Won’t have any bubbles

Great guide but just one question, you removed the fluid out of the res so it was close to empty, then you fitted the pressure bottle that you had filled with fluid and pumped up to 15psi, does that fill the empty res and empty line from you bleeder bottle before you bleed as you would just be pushing air into the system? I’ve got one but never used it so don’t wanna mess it up

Yes the reservoir will fill itself once you start pumping

Why did I not know the Motive bottle trick ? My turkey baster is officially retired. I used it bleed my 997.1 clutch slave, and it sucked! Have you considered using Castrol SRF and doing fewer flushes?

This method isn’t complete unless you also pump the brakes with each caliper bleed. Air WILL remain in the system if you don’t. also you forgot about using a Foxwell NT 530 to set the ABS in the correct position while doing this job.

@@TommyLGarage Well sure, but if you want to be thorough and follow Porsche's recommendations...I had trouble when I ran dry by mistake, your method doesn't cut it unless everything was perfect already before you started.

Sorry man - but this is not how it works - you need porsche piwis to do it in a propper way - you need to move all the break systems valves - this is only possible with a piwis .

Nope. Only if you want to bleed the abs pump. Otherwise it’s good.
