NOTICE: THE KIT SHOWN IN THE VIDEO IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH BDM-010 (ON MOTHERBOARD). BACK SHELL MODEL NUMBER CFI-ZCT1W. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BDM-020/BACK SHELL MODEL NUMBER CFI-ZCT1W A.
I have posted links to the new versions of the remap kits. Which are the V2/2.0, Real Metal Buttons (RMB), and Rise4 remap kits. V1 is only compatible with BDM-010. The rest are compatible with BDM-010 and/or BDM-020.
In this video I'm doing a tutorial on how to install eXtremeRate's programmable Rise Remap Kit/back buttons. These buttons can be programmed to any D-pad button, X,O, Triangle, Square, L1, R1, L2, and R2. It can also be programmed to L3, R3, and touchpad but will require to do some soldering. Once you have finished remapping, the back should be turned off. ON IS FOR REMAPPING ONLY. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask on the comments section or on IG. Enjoy!

Bought one using your code, arrived today, assembled with ease in 45-60 minutes. Trickiest part for me was snapping the shell back together, it was tricky, but I also noticed two wires from the thumbstick sticking out of the two halves and i had to shove them back in before clipping the whole shell back together. Great guide!

Amazing tutorial! very easy to follow, you didn't hurry, you spoke clearly, 10 out of 10. only one critique I would give is that I wish after installation you would quickly show the controller turning on and all the buttons/paddles working perfectly with no issues.

any problems with lag or buttons registering more than once per press? if that makes sense? i saw another vid of another modded back button attachment and the dude Ghostlyy or something like that was sayin when he press’s the back button, it sometimes registers twice and he will jump or crouch or whatever twice….not once?

@@gremlin51820 I’ve experienced no issues at all with these back buttons! The buttons register perfectly every time they are pressed. The only thing I would say is that they are very delicate to touch, like they don’t take hardly any force to press/register. Depending on how you hold your controller you make accidentally press them.

@@gremlin51820 I haven't had any issues at all. They are on the sensitive side though. Maybe he accidentally pressed it twice because of how sensitive they are? Really depends on how you hold your control in my opinion. I make sure I'm not applying alot of pressure and I just presss on them exactly when I have to activate the back buttons

@@im.a.caveman No it wasn’t with the same attachment as you are using. I was just seeing if u had any issues with the current one you are using by eXtreme. The other guys controller of the video I was watching was a completely different back button by a different company/brand. *My main concern was whether or not the button is registered a second time even if u only press it once, is all i had to ask. *The other dude’s attachment was also pre-installed, meaning he bought the controller modded and didn’t do any modding himself.

Give it a shot. But if you do it probably better you do it on a control that has BDM-010 on the motherboard. There's seems to be compatibility issues with BDM-020. Thank you!

Easiest process ever. So worth it. If you are looking for paddles, try this. Just go slow on the install and be gentle. Took me 20 minutes.

Yes! Just make sure your model # is CFI-ZCT1W (on back shell) or BDM-010 (on motherboard).

This guide is fantastic! Just thought I’d say to anyone who failed on their first attempt, don’t let it discourage you!!! When I first reassembled the controller it would not power on. Upon looking a second time, I realized the Motherboard was not screwed tight enough, thus the PS button seemed to not make contact. Now, it’s working flawlessly! Thanks a million once again!

@@MD-tx7tg If you don't have hair triggers installed you should be able to use it. I personally can't tell because I have my 2 controllers with hair triggers so I don't have my haptic feedback turned on. In my opinion it should work since this is only for back buttons. And I don't remember the kit saying that haptuc feedback won't work. But don't take my word for it. This is just my observation and analysis. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help more.

Thanks! Check your controller for compatibility before buying. On the back shell there's a model number CFI-ZCT1W which is BDM-010 and compatible. Model number CFI-ZCT1W A is BDM-020 and not compatible.

I know what you mean but to tell you the truth there's a nice feeling about working on a custom on your own. You just gotta take it slow and carefully take things apart. @@im.a.caveman I just finished the process but when I connect my controller to turn on it flashes orange once for 2 sec then goes away, system says to press ps button which means it isn’t connecting do you know what could be happening?? :( I also did try to disconnect battery and reconnect but still flashes orange once and goes away. It isn’t connecting at all please help 🙏

Bro your explanation is incredibly perfect. I never had any experience with disassembling a controller or anything related to this. I saw this video and decided to buy the Extremerate and honestly when I got it delivered I watched the vid again and thought about returning it or going to an store so somebody could do it. But then I sat down and started following the vid step by step and it worked perfectly. I really appreciate this video man. Now I can have back buttons on my controller for 40$

@@mikeg3950 do it bro. Believe me I was in your same situation. I had literally 0 experience with opening a controller. It comes with all the tools you need except the tweezer which I just took one from my sister and worked perfectly. You can still make it without a tweezer but if you have one it will help. Just sit down in a table with good lighting and follow the video step by step. Just be careful with every detail and be patience. It took me like 1 hour and 20 minutes

Great video! Honestly the hardest part is prying and taking apart the shell. make sure all of the clips are undone and don't accidentally reattach as you're trying to pry it apart.

@@skyboomin check if you’ve bought the correct version for your controller, I recently bought one for a new controller but had the same issue of not turning on ended up being the wrong one as some controllers require different wiring that comes with the newer ones, on amazon cost an extra £2

Love this kit. My only complaint is that it doesn’t add additional buttons, just lets you put existing buttons in a more convenient location for FPS games. Overall, though, the installation was easy and your video is easy to follow to get it done.

I really miss my ps4 back button attachment, but this looks like a solid 2nd choice. How are the button placements and feel of the click? Are they compatible to the ps4’s back button?

They're on the sensitive side but I'm used to it now that it seems normal to not press them easily. People play in different ways so I guess it depends especially with preference. I'm enjoying them though. I feel like the actual attachments might take awhile to release but I'm gonna try them out when they do.

Super sensitive. So sensitive, in fact, that I had to replace the tact switches. Works better now but now I fear that the paddles may not last as long due to the extra force needed to activate the buttons. We'll see.

Took me just about an exact 8 hrs to finish this as well as installing hair triggers, new buttons, and a new skin. Let's just say I had to use glue twice and had to take it back apart more times than I wanted. Thanks for the tutorial sir, and getting me to buy this ish to begin with as you made the process look less scary

The dualsense that I installed the kit on started having stick drift so I brought a new controller. Do you think it's better to swap the remap kit from the old one to new one or should I buy a new kit?

You can still use the same kit if you don't feel like wasting the money yet. Especially if it still works.

@@im.a.caveman its a good controller, but i think cinch could atleast bring the buttons a little bit higher, not really use to using my ring fingers to press the buttons, so i lightly slant my controller so my middle finger touches it perfectly, but these extremerate paddles do the job, im just gunna have to give it time to get used to paddle placements after using the cinch controller for awhile

😆 I had mentioned on a video before that I record next to a window. So that's the problem. It's the only spot I have at the moment. And the mic seems to capture those sounds. Theres a lot of buses, truck's and motorcycles that pass around here. Thanks for watching and I'm glad the video helped!

Sweated HARD while doing this for myself.... Especially when it came to turning the controller back on, and reconnecting it to the ps5 (have to plug it in with the Sony USB-C cable). Then sweater a bit more while I tried every single button to make sure they all still worked hahahah.

The back button attachment for the PS4 is great, it feels clicky and has a lot of heft to it, it doesn't feel like flimsy skinny paddles, the OLED screen let me bind my buttons on the fly as opposed to exiting the game and screwing with the software.

If you never opened up a control I suggest maybe trying on the ps4 controller first to get the feel of it. Ps4 controller is a little simpler. But if you want to start with the ps5 controller go for it. Just take it slow and watch carefully for wires being on the way or disconnecting. Also use a reliable screw driver so you don't tear the screws. Give it a shot! Just keep calm and you can do it! You can always DM me on Instagram if you need help.

Dude, I just got mine yesterday. I have never opened a controller and with this man's video, it only took me 20 minutes maybe a half hour! It's easy with his great camera skills and instructions. Only thing is, his controller has black connectors on the sides while mine had white. The screw driver that comes with it is all you need as well. Best video out there if you get one.

Only thing I would add is to make sure they have the power cord inserted at the end of the step up, to get the Red Light to show on the rear paddle addition... Mine didnt show up / turn on until it was plugged in. Thought it wasnt installed properly until I plugged it in. Otherwise this was honestly the best tutorial for a complicated process that Ive even seen. Every step by step process was explained perfectly!

So glad I took the time to watch this.. just bought the hroi and zen on Amazon for a total of $123.11 crazy thing is this is a year after the video so wasn't expecting it to he that cheap! Praying this actually works. Can't believe ps. First ps5 I bought I got blue lights of death, got new one works fine. Find out there's no internet option, and no paddles. Wtf. Ty man
