I turned this video on….my husband yelled, “ABORT”…..”don’t even think about moving or changing no fans yourself”. 😂🤣😂🤣…. Let me grab my cup of tea…..and watch from my lane. I really do think I could though….😏.
What can I say fabulous Sharon and fantastic Ron What a fabulous job when you first showed the white Circle box it was noticeable but when you panned back and said people have so many things in their ceiling no body would notice it, it disappeared😂
I'M GLAD I SAW THIS VIDEO BECAUSE I COULDN'T TELL WHAT EXACTLY YOU HAD DONE FROM SHARON'S VIDEO. FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT YOU HAD ACTUALLY MOVED THE CEILING FAN OVER IN ANOTHER PART OF THE ROOM
Ron The DIY Genius!!! Much L💖VE to you and my fabulous sister Sharon. You do such a great job at explaining each step and task with so much clarity. I've been raised around talented craftsmen all my life. My dad ran his own Plumbing & Heating business, and each of my uncles were masters at their respective trades, one was a General Contractor, Finished Carpenter, Roofer, Painter, and Electrician. My grandfather was a jack of all these trades, so his vision was to teach each of his sons a trade so they could all work together to build homes. AND IMAGE... YOU ARE SKILLED AT EVERYTHING (Carpentry, framing, finished work, electrical, plumbing... and the list goes on). I have such a passion for building and home improvement, I had the privilege of growing up with some of the best... and by far, you are among that number of great men who know their STUFF!!!! Everyone haven't been exposed to it like I have, but even so, you are so precise and clear, you keep the details simple for EVERYONE to understand, even if they don't have the skill level. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Hope you and Sharon are enjoying your vacation retreat!!! Please keep her OFF those ferris wheels lol
Go Ron, I needed this channel back in the day when I had my house for stuff like this I tore down walls lay flooring, but electrical was always a fear for me lol now I feel like I can do that as well!
Learning so much from your videos. This info helps me assure myself that those hired know what I learned from you and more. I can check them😂😂. Blessings dear
This was so good Ron. The main thing is if you guys notice the box. If y'all don't notice it, I don't. The Fandelier is beautiful. Your channel is growing. And I love the mantra... "Everything will be okay!"
Ron, you’re an awesome man with a blessed and mind and hands!! 👏🏽👏🏽 Is there a way to clone you? 🤣 BTW, love your videos (older as well as newer ones).
Thank you for the video. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a pool table light that I want to center with my TV instead of having the ceiling fan.
It's beautiful yall 😍love the way you are Sharon made the Chateau look so beautiful house to home and I'm so happy you found a soulmate that you really loves God bless y'all and family hope y'all grow old together much love
This is a very good cheat code. Especially for people who don’t want to spend the money to have the ceiling patched in. Additionally, patching into a popcorn finish and making it look invisible is nearly impossible.
Great vid Ron! Did you connect the new box to the old box for your power source??? I don’t have a ceiling light fixture and always wanted ceiling lights
Thanks for the tutorial!!! Listening to the pencil over popcorn ceiling gave me anxiety. I had horrible yellowish popcorn ceiling in my 80s townhome which I scraped off 🤪 Popcorn ceilings are my nemesis😵. It's awesome they don't bother you because they are a MESS to get rid of.
@@rontalley thats great 👍. I was going to leave it alone when I first bought my townhome but then I went into my neighbor's house & he had his removed & I was amazed by how nice his ceilings looked so I was on a mission after that. I learned a lot about drywall, drywall mud, textures, skim coating, hoppers, repairs, etc in the process So it was well worth my time.
Retractable fan blades?! 🤓 Game changer. Ron, great video. I could listen to you all day. Know why? You don't talk too much. Just the facts ma'am. This is the exact problem I'm facing in my bedroom w/the ceiling fan and bed in weird positions relative to each other. It's cock-eyed. You showed me how it's done so now I KNOW it's not a complicated, expensive job. Appreciate it. And, respectfully, your wife (I assume) is a *babe* 😊. Those nails! I die
Great video Ron. I'll try just about any house project if I think I can do it, but electrical stuff scares the ish outta me. I mean, I've changed out a ceiling fan and an outlet, but I was nervous as heck from start to finish. Btw, what kind of stud finder were you using?
Sharon and Ron , I know you have done smart home videos . When you have time can you walk us through that ? I have so many devices BUT I am having a hard time synchronizing them all to my Alexa app . Thank you 🙏🏽
I didn't even see the fan blades on that light....what type of light is that again....I appreciate not necessarily seeing those fan blades....great job 👍🏼
Goto 7:35. You just connect white to white, black to black, red to red and ground to ground. You are just extending the wiring over to the new box using the appropriate size wire nuts. I used yellow.
I have a couple of videos that addresses this as well. But for something like a ceiling fan, you will more than likely have some drywall repair. No worries though because I also have a video(s) on how to repair drywall both flat ceilings and with popcorn. NC…Doesn’t get that cold down here but I am planning on adding more insulation throughout the attic in the near future. Couple of times it did snow, I looked at the roof from the outside and the snow stayed put on the roof. I’m from the Midwest and you could always tell when a house has poor insulation when it snowed because the snow would melt because the inside heat would escape through the attic.
I would suggest you make sure your attic has proper ventilation. And seal leaks from your homes ceiling to your attic. It does look like you need more insulation. But remember that insulation will never fix a leaky ceiling in the attic or bad ventilation which can lead to humidity & mold in your attic 😳 or ice damming. I'm in Dallas and added whirly roof vents to my attic, I previously had the box vents & wow they made a huge difference in cooling/ventilating my attic. Also I made sure my soffit vents were not covered in insulation & will be adding venting baffles before summer & will seal my ceiling light boxes etc up there. I have been learning how to do all of that on RU-vid. I also found out that my bathroom vent, vents out to the attic😭
sorry but thats still the wrong box the threads holes are to thin fan boxes are rated for more weight no matter how solid the box and wood is the actuall screws can rip out
