Here's an easy and inexpensive way to create your own DIY Resin Appliques and Onlays. These are amazing for embellishing furniture, crafts, and home decor projects. I used a 1:1 resin mixture with Redesign With Prima reusable silicone molds to transform this $2.99 Thrift Store wood box. Thanks for watching! :)

Wood glue and sawdust mixture is an interesting medium too. Use a cornstarch dusting on the mold first so it doesn't stick. .

Using an alcohol spray over the top is helpful for bubble displacement. Also, I get a lip on my resin on the back and have to sand to get flat enough for adhesion to furniture. Don't forget your mold release.

Thank you for the video! My question is why would you choose to use resin over modeling material? Or visa versa - when would you choose to use modeling material rather than resin? Thanks!

Both work nicely but I find the resin easier than the modeling material.

do u have a link for ur molds? The only ones I can find on Amazon are for cakes and way too small......and thanks....BEAUTIFUL job! Do u ever have to spray with a nonstick spray? And I'm sure these can be spray painted, right?

Can these be used outdoors? Are they water resistant?

Yes and yes. The finish you apply may or may not hold up outdoors though so if you are planning on painting, be sure to use a paint/topcoat that will hold up outdoors as well.

Helpful suggestion: liked your video but it is pronounced “app lu Kay “ as in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jXyRk_G-5fQ.html. Not meaning to be critical, just helpful. It’s actually a French word.
